Why Easter Is Different This Year: A Call to Submission, Repentance, and Soul Revival

This Easter feels different. Not because the traditions have changed. Not because the world has suddenly become more aware. Not because the message of the resurrection is new.It feels different because God is pressing on the hearts of His people in a way that cannot be ignored. Across the world, churches will be filled.Voices will rise in worship.Hands will be lifted.Scriptures will be read. But beneath all of that activity, there is a deeper, sobering question:Are we truly submitted to God… or are we simply participating in another moment?Because there is a difference. And this year, that difference matters.Psalm 81 opens with a call to praise:“Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.”It sounds like a celebration. It sounds like Easter. But just a few verses later, the tone shifts—and God begins to reveal His heart:“But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust…” (Psalm 81:11–12)Let that settle.God was not dealing with a people who didn’t know Him.He was dealing with people who refused to submit to Him.And if we are honest…That is where many are today. We are not lacking access to God.We are lacking submission. We hear the Word—but we negotiate with it.We feel conviction—but we delay responding. We know what God is asking—but we hold onto what we are not ready to release. And then we wonder why we feel stuck. Why we feel distant. Why we feel heavy. Why we feel like something is missing. It is not because God has moved. It is because we have resisted.Easter is not just a celebration of resurrection. It is a confrontation.Because the same power that raised Christ from the dead demands something from us:Death to self.“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)We love the resurrection. But we avoid the cross. We want new life…Without letting anything die.And this is where the tension lives.Because God is not calling for a surface-level adjustment. He is calling for full surrender. Not partial obedience. Not delayed obedience. Not selective obedience.Total submission.Submission is not weakness. It is alignment. It is the moment you stop fighting God for control of your own life.It is the moment you stop justifying what He has already convicted. It is the moment you say:“Lord, I trust You more than I trust myself.”And that is where many struggle.Because submission requires you to confront what you have been avoiding. The thoughts you excuse. The attitudes you hide. The patterns you protect.Let’s speak plainly.God is not ignoring:* The jealousy you feel toward others* The bitterness you carry from what was done to you* The pride that keeps you from correction* The envy that distorts your perspective* The lust that you entertain in secret* The resentment that has taken root* The fear that drives your decisions* The greed that blinds your judgmentYou may ignore it.You may bury it.You may even dress it up in spirituality. But God sees it.And more than that—God is calling it out.Because revival does not begin in the sanctuary. It begins in the heart.“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:And see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23–24)That is not a comfortable prayer. But it is a necessary one. Many want revival.Few want exposure. Many want a breakthrough.Few want accountability. Many want God to move.Few are willing to move out of the way.And so God, in His mercy, gives us the pathway:Repentance.Repentance is not punishment. It is protection. It is God’s invitation to return before destruction takes root.“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…” (Acts 3:19)But repentance is more than words. It is more than emotion. It is more than a moment.Repentance is a decision. To turn.To change. To confront. To surrender.Too many have learned how to say “I’m sorry” without ever changing direction.Too many have mastered confession without transformation.Too many have mistaken guilt for repentance. But God is not looking for performance. He is looking for change.“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of…” (2 Corinthians 7:10)Godly sorrow doesn’t just make you feel bad.It makes you move differently. This is why Easter is different this year.Because God is no longer allowing His people to hide behind routine. He is calling for a response.A real one.And the truth is…Some will hear this and continue as usual. They will attend the service. They will celebrate. They will move on.But others—Others will feel the weight of this moment. They will recognize that God is calling them deeper. Not into religion…But into a relationship. Not into activity…But into alignment.Because the way of the witness is submission. You cannot represent Christ while resisting Him.You cannot carry His name while ignoring His voice. You cannot lead others while refusing to follow.God is not raising louder voices. He is raising submitted ones.Because submission produces what performance never can:* Integrity* Authority* Clarity* TransformationAnd here is where many miss the final piece.Revival is not striving. It is not pressure. It is not performance. It is rest. But not passive rest—Surrendered rest.“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)You are not tired because life is too hard. You are tired because you are carrying what God never asked you to hold.Control.Fear.Unforgiveness.Pride.Unresolved pain. And God is saying:“Give it to Me.”But if you refuse…Psalm 81 gives the warning:“So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust…”There is nothing more dangerous than being left to yourself. To your own thoughts. To your own desires. To your own way.But here is the hope.God does not begin with judgment. He begins with an invitation.“Oh that my people had hearkened unto me…I should soon have subdued their enemies…” (Psalm 81:13–14)Do you hear that?“Oh that my people…”That is the heart of God.Still longing.Still calling.Still inviting.Even now.Even here.Even this Easter. This is your moment. Not next week. Not when it’s convenient. Not when you feel ready.Now.Pause.Be still. And ask God honestly:“What have I been avoiding?”“What have I refused to surrender?”“What have I justified that You have already addressed?”And when He answers—Because He will—Do not delay.Do not negotiate.Do not ignore it.Surrender it.Because this Easter is not about what you wear.It is not about where you go.It is not about what you post.It is about whether you will respond to the God who rose. And if you do—If you truly surrender—Your life will not just feel different. It will be different.Go DeeperIf this message is speaking directly to your spirit, don’t stop here.Go deeper into your healing, restoration, and transformation journey:👉 Rest, Revive, Reset on AmazonThis is not just a book.It is a guide to help you break free, realign your life with God, and experience true soul revival.Final ChargeThis Easter is different.Because God is not asking for your presence. He is asking for your surrender. And the question is no longer:“Will you attend?”But:Will you obey?Remember, as you go about your walk today and this new week at work, in your travels, and in your everyday thoughts, God is not asking you to attend and perform; He is asking you to surrender. How To Set Standards For Your Life and Revive Your Soul

A message of clarity, action and Benefits for obedience taken from God’s word in (Romans 2:12).There is a crisis in this generation. Not just political. Not just economic. Not even just moral. It is a crisis of standards. Many people want deliverance.Few want discipline. Many want transformation.Few want truth. And yet Scripture makes something very clear: revival begins where standards are restored. In Epistle to the Romans 2:12, the Apostle Paul writes:“For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law.”This is not a popular verse. It does not soothe. It confronts. But if we are serious about reviving the soul personally, spiritually, and culturally we must understand what Paul is teaching here.1. Standards Reveal RealityRomans 2:12 establishes a principle:God judges according to revealed standard.Whether someone had the written law or not, accountability still exists. Why?Because God is not arbitrary. He does not judge based on mood.He judges based on truth. And here is where the soul revival begins:You cannot revive what you refuse to measure. If there is no standard, there is no conviction. If there is no conviction, there is no repentance. If there is no repentance, there is no transformation. Many people are spiritually exhausted not because God is absent — but because standards have been lowered to accommodate comfort. You cannot build a holy life on compromised expectations.2. Deliverance Requires DefinitionDeliverance is not emotional hype.It is not performance. It is not a moment at an altar.Deliverance begins when you define what God calls sin and agree with Him.In Romans 2, Paul dismantles hypocrisy. He exposes those who judge others but excuse themselves. He makes clear that possession of knowledge is not the same as obedience. You may know Scripture. You may teach Scripture. You may post Scripture. But are you aligned with Scripture?Soul revival demands this question.God’s perfect will cannot be discerned by feelings alone. It is revealed through alignment with His Word.Standards clarify:* What is sin* What is righteousness* What requires repentance* What requires surrenderWithout standards, spirituality becomes self-designed.And self-designed faith cannot produce divine transformation.3. The Law Written on the HeartPaul also teaches in Romans 2 that even those without the written law have a conscience.God has embedded moral awareness within humanity. The problem is not ignorance. The problem is suppression. We know when something is wrong. We feel conviction. But instead of submitting to correction, we normalize dysfunction.Soul revival happens when we stop negotiating with conscience.Ask yourself:* Where have I lowered standards to protect my comfort?* Where have I excused what God calls disobedience?* Where am I spiritually dull because I refuse correction? This is not condemnation. This is invitation.God’s standards are not meant to crush you. They are meant to restore you.4. Knowing God’s Perfect and Pleasing WillMany believers quote Romans 12:2 “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” but skip the foundation.Transformation requires standard. You cannot renew a mind that rejects divine boundaries.God’s will is:* Perfect* Pleasing* TransformativeBut it is also holy.Deliverance comes when we align our internal standards with God’s revealed will.Revival begins with repentance.Repentance begins with revelation.Revelation begins with standard. You cannot experience God’s perfect will while living by personal preference.5. Revival Is Personal Before It Is CulturalWe often want national revival. But revival is not political first. It is personal first.Romans 2 removes excuses:* Not knowing is not an excuse.* Knowing but not doing is not righteousness. If the church is to revive,if families are to revive,if communities are to revivestandards must return. Not legalism. Not self-righteousness.Not performance. But biblical alignment.Deliverance does not happen when we redefine sin.It happens when we submit to God’s definition.6. Standards Protect the SoulWhy does God judge by standard?Because truth protects.Boundaries preserve.Holiness safeguards.Conviction saves. When we abandon standards, we invite chaos into the soul. You feel it as:* Restlessness* Anxiety* Identity confusion* Spiritual dullness* Moral fatigueRevival begins when we ask:Where have I drifted?God is not trying to expose you to shame you.He exposes to heal.7. The Invitation to TransformationRomans 2:12 is not about condemnation. It is about accountability.God judges according to standard because He desires alignment.Deliverance is available.Transformation is possible.Revival is near. But it begins where standards are restored.Ask yourself today:Am I living by culture’s comfortor God’s revealed will?Revival does not begin in the crowd. It begins in the conscience. And when the soul is revived life follows.📖 Ready to Go Deeper? If this message stirred something in you — if you are realizing that revival begins with restored standards — then my book Rest, Revive, Reset will walk you step-by-step through the process of escaping spiritual exhaustion, breaking cycles of burnout, and rediscovering God’s path of renewal and divine purpose. This isn’t hype. Don’t Make Another New Year’s Eve Resolution — But Receive God’s Truth for Balance, Hope, and Restoration

Every year, as December folds into January, millions of people stand at the threshold of midnight with the same script on their lips: “New year, new me.” The pens come out. The promises stack up. The resolutions roll in like receipts from a life we plan to return to sender. Lose weight. Make more money. Heal. Travel more. Hustle harder. Start over. Try again. Reinvent. And by February, the confetti has settled but so has the fatigue. The promises fade. The momentum stalls. The soul gets tired—again.I’m here today to disrupt that cycle gently but firmly with a better invitation:Don’t make another resolution you don’t have the strength to steward.Don’t vow to hustle into healing.Don’t promise to reset outward while your spirit is still depleted inward.Don’t declare a “new you” without receiving the Truth that sustains you. This New Year’s Eve 2025, God is not calling you to reinvent yourself again. He is calling you to return to balance, receive hope, and be restored from within. And the path He keeps whispering to the tired believer is the same one Jesus modeled, the same one Scripture promises, the same one our culture resists:REST. REVIVE. RESET.Not the superficial kind. Not the spa-day kind. Not the collapse-from-exhaustion kind. But the soul-deep, Spirit-led, identity-rebuilding, guilt-free, obedience-filled rest that flows from God.The Problem with Resolutions Is Not the Intention—It’s the FoundationResolutions fail not because they are bad ideas, but because they are built on human grit instead of God’s grace and pace. When we resolve without revelation, we attempt spiritual work with carnal fuel. We set goals without boundaries, timelines without tenderness, movement without meaning, and purpose without peace. We promise to change habits without asking what wounded the soul in the first place. You can set a goal to lose 30 pounds—but if you don’t ask what emotional or spiritual weight you’re carrying, you’ll regain it.You can resolve to build a business—but if you don’t ask what is draining your spirit, you’ll scale the wrong structure. You can vow to show up differently—but if you don’t receive the Truth about who God named you, you’ll perform for people instead of purpose. You can promise to heal—but if you don’t unplug from hustle culture’s pressure, you’ll hustle into hollow progress.I know this because I lived this cycle for years.I was the woman applauded for endurance while quietly disintegrating from pressure. I was the leader building while spiritually depleted. I was the mother homeschooling her children academically while spiritually unsheltered. I was the achiever collecting degrees while collecting wounds the world couldn’t see. I was the visionary running on urgency instead of anointing. And it was only when life forced me into isolation through illness and disability that God revealed to me what I now teach boldly:Rest is not the prize after the work.Rest is the path that protects you while God does the work through you.Balance is not achieved by doing more.Balance is received by surrendering more. The Midnight Moment Is Not Your Makeover Hour—It’s Your Surrender HourNew Year’s Eve is not a deadline for self-improvement. It is a divine appointment for soul assessment.Instead of writing a list of resolutions at midnight, try this list instead:• What drained me this year?• What did I carry that wasn’t mine?• What lies did I believe about productivity?• What did I build without resting first?• What applause did I chase instead of purpose?• What boundaries did I ignore?• What pain did I silence instead of healing?• What did God whisper that exhaustion muted?God is not impressed by your promises to do more in 2025.He is interested in your surrender to receive more from Him in 2025.Not ambition.Alignment.Not reinvention.Restoration.Not grit.Grace.Not external resets.Internal revival. This Is the Year God Wants to Do Something in You Before He Does Something through YouI’ve noticed something in my work as a spiritual coach and storyteller: people want January to fix what December never confronted. They want a new calendar to fix an old soul. They want new habits to fix old heartbreak. They want new goals to fix old wounds. They want new platforms to fix old pressure. They want new momentum to fix old exhaustion. But God keeps pointing to the same truth:“I must revive what is tired inside before you reset what you want outside.”You don’t need another resolution. You need another revelation of Truth. The soul cannot be made over by a midnight vow.The soul can only be made whole by a Truth received. The Truth We Resist Most Is the Truth We Need Most: Rest Is a Command, Not a SuggestionPsalm 23 tells us the Shepherd leads His sheep beside still waters for a reason.Because the sheep do not know how to find still waters on their own.Jesus tells us to come unto Him for a reason.Because exhaustion makes us build idols out of urgency.God tells us to be still for a reason.Because movement without the Spirit is wandering, not purpose. The world trained us to perform. But the Kingdom trains us to abide. And the evidence that you have stepped into God’s Truth for balance is not more productivity. It is more peace. Not more movement.More meaning. Not more noise.More spiritual sensitivity. Not more hurry.More obedience. Not more striving.More abiding. You Can Be High-Impact Without High-StressLet’s dismantle the myth that stress validates calling.Let’s dismantle the belief that exhaustion proves leadership.Let’s dismantle the narrative that more output means more purpose.Let’s dismantle the idea that a new year demands a new you.Because 2025 doesn’t need a new you.It needs a restored you.You can walk into January rested without walking into life passive. You can walk into purpose without walking into panic. You can walk into assignment without walking into urgency. You can set boundaries without feeling guilt. You can unplug without losing impact. The question is not:“What will you do differently in 2025?”The question is:“What Truth will you receive to sustain you in 2025?”The Answer Is Not More Hustle — It Is Balance, Hope, and Revival from WithinThat is why I wrote the book that is not only my testimony, but my prescription:Rest, Revive, Reset. Not a trendy title.A healing protocol.A strategy for the exhausted believer.A blueprint for identity restoration.A mandate for leaders carrying silent pressure.A lifeline for mothers who have shouldered life alone.A pathway for ministry builders burned-out by human pace.A spiritual exodus inward that ends outward collapse. And most importantly:Christ Himself revealed as rest. This Is Not Just a Book Launch. It Is a Soul Call.If you are tired, it is because you carried what you were never meant to carry without rest.If you are burned-out, it is because you built without reviving within first. If you are spiritually fatigued, it is because noise muted sensitivity. If you are purpose-tired, it is because you are trying to sprint into assignment instead of walk into alignment. If you are identity-fatigued, it is because life labeled you instead of God naming you.God is not calling you to run faster in 2025.He is calling you to come back home within. To unplug the pressure. To rebuild spiritual sensitivity. To heal burnout at the root.To set boundaries that protect the spirit. To walk into purpose from peace, not panic. To revive inward before resetting outward. To receive the Truth that sustains balance, hope, and restoration. And that Truth has a name:Jesus Christ.Rest is your inheritance.Revival is your evidence.Purpose is your assignment.Peace is your portion.Balance is your obedience.Hope is your lifeline.Restoration is your proof. And the exodus from hustle culture begins within. What 2025 Taught Me That 2026 Must Receive:I am not just speaking from the platform I am on, but from the wilderness I survived.I have lived seasons where rest was forced by illness, until God taught me to take it intentionally.I have lived decades where identity was fractured, until God rebuilt it.I have lived years carrying visions that were not mine, until God taught me borders.I have lived leadership under pressure, until God taught me alignment.I have lived motherhood without community, until God taught me covering.I have lived the cost of ignoring boundaries, until God rebuilt them.I have lived the lie that productivity validates purpose, until God corrected the narrative. And I wrote this book to make sure you don’t repeat the cycle of burnout disguised as calling. If You Must Resolve Anything in 2026, Resolve This:I will rest to restore sensitivity.I will revive inward before resetting outward.I will obey God’s pace, not pressure’s urgency.I will walk into purpose from peace, not panic.I will unplug without guilt.I will set boundaries that protect my soul.I will receive Truth before setting goals.I will abide before building.I will restore spiritual sensitivity before chasing visibility.I will seek inheritance of peace, not idols of applause.I will revive within, not sprint without. The Invitation Is Gentle but FirmYou can build goals, but build them from rest. You can launch dreams, but launch them from renewal. You can lead movements, but lead them from inner revival. You can facilitate relationships, but facilitate them from truth, clarity, and boundaries. You can carry purpose, but carry it without hurry. You can heal, but heal without guilt. You can be high-impact without high-stress.Because the world trained us to perform. But God trains us to abide.Call to ActionIf this message met you at the crossroads of your spirit, it is not coincidence. Soul Revival Means Being In Alignment With God

There comes a point in every believer’s life when the noise of the world becomes too loud to ignore. The chaos, the opinions, the endless scrolling, and the constant striving begin to numb the soul. You start to realize that what you truly need is not another achievement, another relationship, or another escape—but alignment with God.That’s what Soul Revival is really about. It’s not just a catchy phrase or a moment of emotional uplift—it’s a divine recalibration of your inner life. It’s when your spirit, soul, and body begin to operate under heaven’s authority again. It’s when your heart beats in rhythm with God’s will. And it’s when your character—what you do when no one’s watching—begins to reflect the light of the One who called you. What Is Soul Revival?Soul Revival is the restoration of divine order within your being. It’s when you allow God to breathe new life into the places you’ve neglected, abandoned, or hidden out of shame. In Psalm 23, David declared, “He restores my soul.” This verse isn’t just poetic—it’s instructional. God’s intention has always been to revive the human soul, to restore the connection that sin, trauma, and the world have tried to destroy. When your soul is revived, you don’t just feel better—you become better. Your choices change. Your desires change. You move from surviving to living abundantly. But revival doesn’t happen by accident. It happens by alignment.Alignment Is ObedienceSpiritual alignment begins with obedience. Not blind obedience to man’s rules or religious customs, but obedience to the voice of God within.Jesus said in John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”That is the essence of alignment—hearing, knowing, and following. When your heart is misaligned, your steps will always lead you into confusion. But when your heart is aligned with the Shepherd, even the valleys of life become purposeful.Obedience is not about control; it’s about communion. It’s how we learn to trust God again after betrayal, failure, or loss. It’s how we reclaim peace after chaos and stillness after striving.Alignment says: “Not my will, Lord, but Yours.”That’s where revival begins. When the Soul Is Out of OrderA misaligned soul often shows itself through unrest, anxiety, and spiritual fatigue. You can quote Scripture, attend church, and even serve in ministry—and still feel empty. Why? Because activity is not the same as alignment. We live in an age where many are spiritually busy but emotionally bankrupt. We preach peace but live in panic. We post joy but battle despair. We teach faith but live in fear.Soul revival confronts that disconnect. It asks:* What part of my soul is out of sync with God’s Word?* What emotion have I allowed to lead me more than the Spirit?* What habit have I nurtured that keeps me from hearing His voice clearly?Until you face these questions honestly, revival will only be an event—not an experience. The Three Dimensions of Alignment* Alignment of Spirit – This is when your spirit man is awakened and ruled by the Holy Spirit. Prayer, fasting, and worship become daily disciplines, not random rituals. You learn to discern God’s direction and recognize His peace as your compass.* Alignment of Soul – This involves your mind, will, and emotions. Here, you allow God to renew your thought patterns (Romans 12:2), heal your heart, and discipline your desires. You begin to want what He wants, think how He thinks, and love how He loves.* Alignment of Body – Your body becomes a temple, not a tool for indulgence. You rest, eat, and live in ways that honor God. The revival of your body is part of your worship—it allows you to serve Him with strength and clarity.True alignment happens when all three agree with heaven’s design.Character Is the Evidence of AlignmentYou can’t fake alignment for long. Eventually, your fruit will show it.Jesus taught, “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.” (Matthew 7:18)When the soul is revived and aligned with God, the evidence shows up in your character:* You forgive quicker.* You love deeper.* You serve humbly.* You speak truthfully.* You walk in integrity, even when it costs you.Character is the language of alignment. It’s the silent sermon your life preaches daily. And in a world obsessed with performance, character remains the most powerful proof of a revived soul.Revival Requires RepentanceThere is no revival without repentance.Repentance is not condemnation—it’s an invitation. It means turning back to the original design, the one God created before pain, pride, and people’s opinions distorted it.When your soul is out of alignment, God doesn’t shame you—He calls you. He whispers, “Return to Me.”Repentance says, “Lord, I’m done fighting You.” It breaks the stronghold of ego and realigns your heart with humility.Every great revival in history began with people who said, “Enough.” Enough of self. Enough of sin. Enough of trying to live without the source of life. And when they did, heaven responded. The Role of Stillness in RevivalPsalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.”Stillness is not laziness—it’s trust. It’s the sacred pause between chaos and clarity where God’s voice becomes louder than your fears. When your soul is constantly in motion, you can’t hear divine instruction. But when you are still, you can discern direction.Stillness invites spiritual realignment. It’s in silence that the Spirit reveals misalignment. It’s in prayer that conviction becomes clarity. If you’ve been restless lately, maybe God is not delaying—maybe He’s detoxing your soul from distractions.Stillness revives what striving drains. Why Soul Revival Is a Daily JourneySoul revival isn’t a one-time miracle—it’s a lifelong journey. It’s the daily dying of self so that Christ may live through you.Every morning you wake up, you’re given a new opportunity to choose alignment over ambition, presence over pressure, peace over performance.Paul said, “I die daily.” That’s not a morbid confession—it’s a spiritual practice. It’s how the apostle kept his soul aligned despite persecution, rejection, and trials.Likewise, we must continually surrender. Every distraction, every disappointment, every desire must bow to the Lordship of Christ.Soul revival is sustained through consistent intimacy.Character Building Through SurrenderCharacter is not built in comfort—it’s formed in surrender. When you surrender your plans, God reveals His purpose. When you release your control, He restores your clarity. The trials you face aren’t meant to break you but to build you. Each test is a tool for alignment. God uses pain as a mirror—revealing what still needs to be healed. As your soul revives, you begin to understand that godly character is not about perfection, but progression. It’s about choosing righteousness over revenge, purity over popularity, and faith over fear. When you align your soul with heaven, you start walking differently. You no longer chase validation—you carry value. The Rewards of AlignmentA revived and aligned soul enjoys divine rewards:* Clarity – You stop overthinking because your spirit trusts the process.* Peace – You live unbothered by chaos because your identity is anchored in Christ.* Fruitfulness – Your efforts multiply because your actions align with divine timing.* Authority – You speak with boldness because your spirit is backed by heaven.* Favor – Doors open naturally because your life glorifies God.Alignment doesn’t remove challenges—it redefines them. It helps you see purpose in pain, process in pruning, and power in perseverance. How to Begin Your Soul Revival* Return to the Word – Scripture is your alignment manual. Start your mornings in the Psalms or Proverbs and end your nights with the Gospels.* Pray Honestly – Don’t pray pretty; pray pure. Tell God what you feel so He can heal what you hide.* Fast Regularly – Fasting humbles the flesh and sharpens spiritual sensitivity.* Seek Community – Revival is contagious. Surround yourself with people who push you closer to God.* Forgive Relentlessly – Unforgiveness is misalignment. Free yourself so your soul can breathe.* Rest Intentionally – You can’t revive your soul while burning out your body.* Serve Faithfully – Alignment produces fruit through service. Dr. Ansah highlights the need to guard one’s mind and make thoughts obedient to Christ, according to 2 Corinthians 10:5.Aligning with God’s WillDr. Ansah further emphasizes the importance of aligning with God’s will, which involves living a life rooted in love and overcoming sin through capturing thoughts and words. She highlighted the power of the tongue and the enemy’s attacks, urging listeners to use the armor of God (in Ephesians 6), including truth, righteousness, salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, to hold thoughts captive. The message stressed the need to speak truth and remember one’s purpose, as taught by parents or godly custodians on earth, to remain grounded in Christ.Overcoming False Teachings and RedemptionDr. Ansah discusses the importance of controlling negative thoughts and dispelling false teachings openly, emphasizing that God has appointed a time for deliverance and redemption. Freedom of Speech Isn't The Problem, Our Motives Are: The Power of The Tongue - A Series E.1

SummaryDr. Makeda Ansah introduces her new podcast series “The Power of the Tongue” and discusses the importance of aligning with the Holy Spirit while addressing concerns about ethical standards in pastoral leadership and free speech. The conversation explores various topics including civil rights activism, political boycotts, and the role of faith in personal and societal healing, with particular focus on the proper balance between spiritual guidance and political engagement. The teaching concludes with a strong emphasis on repentance, humility, and the need for true spiritual healing through faith in Jesus Christ, while warning against false teachers and the dangers of misplacing priorities in ministry. The Power of the Tongue SeriesDr. Makeda Ansah introduces her new podcast series, “The Power of the Tongue,” and shares her personal journey of faith and calling. She discusses the importance of aligning with the Holy Spirit and avoiding the patterns of the world. The episode’s main topic is free speech, inspired by Pastor Jamal Bryant’s podcast series; “Freedom of Speech is Under ATTACK,” on his “Let’s Be Clear,” Podcast on YouTube. Dr. Ansah expresses concerns about the ethical standards of some pastors and the potential eternal ramifications of leading people astray. She further criticizes Pastor Bryant’s comparison of himself to Martin Luther King Jr.Pastor’s Target Boycott CampaignThe discussion centers on a pastor and his wife, who are a “power couple” known for their church in Atlanta and involvement in pop culture. The pastor, who is also the progenitor of a Target boycott due to the company’s reduced focus on DEI initiatives, discussed his efforts to encourage Black people to boycott Target, which led to some success despite challenges for some consumers. The conversation drew parallels to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s meeting with President Lyndon B. Johnson, highlighting how civil rights progress often comes with caveats and limitations in legal systems.Pastor’s Misuse of Religious PlatformDr. Ansah criticizes pastors who she believes are misusing their platform by focusing on political activism rather than spiritual guidance, questioning why the pastors are not fulfilling their true calling as a preacher (not saying that pastors are also seen an liberators). Liberation is God’s role, humans are mere vessels. When not done right, many souls will perish unnecessarily. We saw this happen after the Israelites left Egypt and as they waited for Moses to come down from Mount Sinai, they erected a golden calf. That day many perished from God’s wrath, and when Moses through the tablets of the law down in anguish. Upon observing his ministry standards and teachings, Dr. Ansah accuses Pastor Jamal Bryant of contradicting biblical teachings by prioritizing activism and public appearances over delivering spiritual messages and helping congregants overcome personal struggles. Dr. Ansah emphasizes that freedom of speech is NOT under attack in America per say, but it is rather the act of not knowing what to say, when, and to whom, which breeds evil, and total chaos. Rather, Dr. Ansah, urges pastors to focus on their religious duties rather than engaging in political discussions.Dr. King’s Activism and Faith LegacyThe discussion then centered on Dr. Bernice King’s role and legacy, with Dr. Ansah expressing concerns about her involvement in activism rather than leading the church. Dr. Ansah criticized the focus on statues and the King Children’s lack of unity over their father’s writings rather than over the soul’s salvation, questioning the effectiveness of these efforts. The conversation concludes with a reminder of the importance of turning to the Word of God for guidance and strength in overcoming challenges, emphasizing the power of faith in Jesus Christ.Faith Journey and Healing TestimonyDr. Makeda Ansah shares a personal testimony about her faith journey, particularly focusing on a life-threatening illness 22 years ago when she chose to rely on prayer and spiritual healing rather than surgery, man’s method of healing, following the advice of an elder who recommended reading James chapter 5. She describes how her faith grew stronger over time, leading her to stop taking prescribed medications but instead trusting in divine healing, after eventually meeting a traveling preacher who helped her further deepen her spiritual connection with Christ, the ultimate healer and Savior of the world. Dr. Ansah emphasizes the power of God’s word and the importance of maintaining faith and hope, concluding with a reference to 2 Timothy chapter 2 verses 24-26, about the value of correctly handling God’s truth.Warning Against False TeachingsDr. Ansah warns against false teachers, specifically Pastor Jamal Bright of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, who she claims is leading god’s people astray by focusing on activism rather than salvation. She emphasizes the importance of allowing God to speak through His ministers and avoiding empty words, quoting Jesus’ statement in Matthew Chapter 12, verse 36: about giving account for every word spoken. The discussion concludes with a critique of boycotts, suggesting that there are more urgent reasons to avoid certain grocery chains, such as food quality and price, rather than focusing on the racial composition of their workforce.Controversial Views on Freedom of SpeechThe discussion then shifts a bit and centers on the controversy surrounding Tabitha Brown’s comments about people needing to get jobs, with Dr. Ansah expressing strong disapproval of Tabitha Brown’s approach and urging repentance. The conversation also touched on Pastor Bryant’s views on freedom of speech, with the Dr. Ansah suggesting that his speech could be harmful to God’s kingdom and advising him to focus on soul-saving and addressing personal issues within his church community. Dr. Ansah is not saying the evil acts shouldn’t be rebuked and reproved, she only saying the one’s ambition can cause spiritual blindness and many to stumble, but using wisdom can prevent harm and be the guide to ministry practices on a daily basis. God’s Work and Soul HealingDr. Ansah emphasizes that God has already completed His work and humans should only focus on preaching the gospel, while showing love to enemies rather than pursuing personal agendas or activism. She criticizes efforts to heal the African continent without addressing its spiritual needs, noting that effects of colonization and various challenges need to be resolved before souls can be returned. Dr. Ansah stresses that true healing requires penitent souls, pure hearts and clean hands, rather than money, warning against misguided efforts to rebuild without addressing spiritual issues.Repentance and Humility in MinistryDr. Ansah delivers a passionate sermon emphasizing the need for repentance and humility before God, warning that material success and political influence cannot heal a land cursed by sin. She criticizes pastors who prioritize personal ambition over spiritual guidance, particularly those who mistreat their wives and exploit women for political gain, while also cautioning against speaking out of turn on matters that could worsen societal divisions. The message concluded with a warning from Jeremiah 23 about the consequences faced by those who destroy God’s church, emphasizing that while hell cannot prevail against the church, its leaders risk destroying their own souls.Biblical Teachings on Spiritual RenewalFinally, Dr. Ansah discusses biblical teachings, particularly focusing on Jeremiah’s warnings about wicked shepherds and the promise of a righteous branch, which is identified as Jesus Christ. She emphasized the importance of spiritual healing and the power of the Holy Spirit, warning listeners to be cautious of false teachers and to focus on words that heal and pull down strongholds. Dr. Ansah encourages listeners to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, stating that only through profession and belief can one be saved and experience spiritual renewal. The Lesson and Answer God is teaching us here is this: Freedom of Speech Is NOT Under Attack In America or Any Place Else. Overcoming Panic: How To Trust God Over The Chaos

In a world filled with uncertainty, panic often drives us to desperate measures. Whether it’s chaos in our personal lives or upheaval on a global scale, the temptation to seek quick fixes or "false saviors" can feel overwhelming. But God calls us to a higher trust—a peace that surpasses understanding. In this sermon, we unpack why people turn away from God in times of panic and how Scripture points us back to the only true source of hope. The Root of Panic: Rejecting God’s AuthorityIn 1 Samuel 8:7-9, the Israelites demanded a king to rule over them, rejecting God’s direct leadership. They craved a human savior to calm their fears and match the nations around them. Sound familiar? Today, we often look to politicians, trends, or material solutions to rescue us from chaos, ignoring the One who holds everything together. God warned them—and us—that these false saviors come with consequences. The Cost of False SaviorsHosea 13:11 reveals God’s response: “I gave you a king in my anger, and I took him away in my wrath.” When we panic and cling to fleeting solutions, we invite instability. History and our own lives show that human fixes crumble under pressure. Whether it’s chasing wealth, power, or approval, these idols can’t deliver lasting peace. The Remedy: Trust in God AlonePsalm 146:3 cuts through the noise: “Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.” True deliverance doesn’t come from earthly sources—it comes from God. Overcoming panic starts with surrendering our fears and resting in His sovereignty. When chaos swirls, He remains unshaken.Takeaway: Choose Faith Over FearNext time panic creeps in, pause. Reflect on where you’re placing your trust. Are you running to false saviors or standing firm in God’s promises? This message calls to realign our hearts, reject the chaos, and embrace the peace that only God provides.Listen to the full sermon above for a deeper dive into overcoming panic with faith. The Soul Revivalist is a reader-supported publication. Exposing The Trap of Oversharing & Seeking Validation Online

Don't Engage: The Trap of Oversharing & Seeking Validation OnlineIn a world that thrives on attention, it’s tempting to engage—whether it’s offering unsolicited advice, flaunting success, or exposing personal struggles for validation. But Matthew 6:3 reminds us: "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing."Not everything needs to be shared. Oversharing invites criticism, envy, and even spiritual attacks. Many turn to social media because they lack real connection, but in doing so, they open the door to false validation, pride, and emotional instability.Truth: No one can say you said or did something if you never put it out there. It's Time To Unplug

Unplugging from the World's Traps: Aligning Your Mind with God's WillIn today’s fast-paced world, getting caught up in the noise is easy—the endless cycle of news, social media, opinions, and temptations that steer our hearts and minds away from God. If we’re not careful, these influences can lead us into costly actions, decisions, and mindsets that disconnect us from His purpose for our lives.Romans 12:2 reminds us: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by renewing your mind. Then you can test and approve God's will—His good, pleasing, and perfect will."The world sets traps: comparison, materialism, fear, and distraction. But God calls us to unplug from these patterns and renew our minds daily in His Word. Renewing our minds means meditating on His truth instead of the world’s lies, replacing anxiety with prayer, and trading chaos for the peace that surpasses understanding. When you unplug, you give God room to work. Your thoughts are aligned with His, and His Spirit guides your actions. This keeps you in God's right standing and allows you to walk in clarity, purpose, and freedom.Take a moment today to reflect:* What worldly thoughts or habits do you need to unplug from?* How can you prioritize renewing your mind with Scripture and prayer? As you disconnect from the world's noise, you’ll discover the beauty of hearing God’s still, small voice leading you into His perfect will. I've Finally Figured Substack Out, I Only Need To Be Myself and No One Else!

Empowering Women Over 50 to Share Their Stories: Writing to Heal, Lead, and Inspire the Next GenerationIn a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, the ability to share our stories has never been more critical. As women over 50, many of us have lived through seasons of heartbreak, resilience, transformation, and triumph. We carry the wisdom that the next generation desperately needs and possess the power to leave a legacy of hope, faith, and healing. Yet, too often, this wisdom remains untold—locked within our hearts, waiting for the right moment to be shared. Why Sharing Your Story MattersOur stories are not just for us—they’re a gift from God meant to be shared. In Revelation 12:11, we are reminded, "They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony." Sharing your story can heal yourself and those who hear it. Your life is a living testimony to God’s grace, and by putting pen to paper, you can inspire others to walk boldly in their faith journeys.Writing is a transformative process. It allows us to process our past, heal from trauma, and find clarity in our purpose. For women over 50, writing can also be a way to reclaim our voices and use our experiences to impact future generations positively. Whether through publishing a memoir, writing devotionals, or sharing your insights on life, your words matter. They can change lives.Launching the "Published and Paid Over 50" MovementThis is why I am passionate about launching my new YouTube channel, "Published and Paid Over 50." This platform inspires and empowers women over 50 to write their books, share their stories, and use their voices to make a difference. Writing is not just about publishing—it’s about healing, teaching, and leading the younger generation to God. The Apostle Paul wrote in Titus 2:3-5, “Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in how they live…then they can urge the younger women.”I want to show women how to turn their experiences into tools for healing and ministry. Whether you’ve endured heartbreak, loss, rejection, or overwhelming challenges, your story has value. With platforms like Substack, YouTube, and self-publishing companies to assist you in writing, editing, and publishing, sharing your voice with the world has never been easier.Finding Purpose in a Toxic WorldThe world today can feel incredibly toxic, with voices of privilege and platforms that often exploit rather than uplift. But as women of faith, we are called to rise above. We are called to be lights in the darkness, leading others to the ultimate truth found in Christ. In Matthew 5:16, Jesus says, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."Through writing, we can counteract the negativity in the world by sharing stories of hope, redemption, and faith. We can lead others to God by showing how His love has transformed our lives. This is why it’s crucial to approach writing with a purpose—a calling to heal, inspire, and glorify God.Encouragement for the JourneyIf you’re a woman over 50 who feels called to write, I want to encourage you: start now. Don’t wait for the “perfect” moment or the “perfect” plan. God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called. Your story matters, and someone out there needs to hear it.Here are three practical steps to get started:* Pray for Guidance: Ask God to lead you as you write. Dedicate your words to His glory, and trust He will guide your journey.* Start Small: Begin by journaling or writing short essays. Share your thoughts on platforms like Substack, where you can connect with an audience and build confidence.* Find Community: Surround yourself with like-minded women who will encourage and support you. When You Realize You Can't Be All Things To All People, But Who You're Supposed To Be - Galatians 1:10

Living for God, Not the Wo Boldly Keeping the Commandments and Speaking Truth to PowerIn an age where societal pressures and worldly standards seem to define success and identity, Christians face a profound challenge: staying faithful to God’s commandments while boldly proclaiming the gospel's truth. Galatians 1:10 serves as a foundational reminder of our purpose as believers:"For am I now seeking the approval of man or God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."This verse highlights the tension between pleasing the world and faithfully serving God. The Christian life requires unwavering obedience to God’s Word, a firm stance against the world's standards, and the courage to speak truth to power. In this post, we will explore how believers can posture themselves to live out their faith boldly while maintaining a Christ-centered focus.1. The Pressure to Conform to the WorldEvery day, we are bombarded by the outer world. The media bombards us daily with messages encouraging us to prioritize self-promotion, material success, and personal comfort over integrity, humility, and obedience to God.The Apostle Paul understood this struggle and reminded the Galatian church that allegiance to Christ means rejecting the world’s approval. In John 15:19, Jesus Himself said, “If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”Conforming to the world often leads to compromise—compromise in values, truth, and witness. Believers must recognize that seeking the world’s approval ultimately distracts us from fulfilling God’s mission. The call to be “in the world but not of the world” (John 17:16) requires a conscious decision to stand firm in the faith, even when it costs us worldly acceptance.2. Posturing Ourselves to Keep God’s CommandmentsTo resist conformity, believers must adopt a posture of humility and obedience rooted in God’s Word. Keeping the commandments requires more than external adherence; it demands a heart aligned with God’s will.A Heart of ObedienceJesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Obedience is not a burdensome duty but a response to God’s love and grace. As we posture ourselves to obey God, we grow in holiness and reflect His character to the world. This posture requires:* Daily Immersion in Scripture: Psalm 119:11 reminds us to hide God’s Word in our hearts to resist sin.* Prayer for Strength: As Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, we, too, must seek God’s strength to align our will with His (Matthew 26:39).* Accountability with Fellow Believers: The church community is essential for encouragement and correction as we strive to keep God’s commandments (Hebrews 10:24-25).A Spirit of BoldnessThe world often ridicules or rejects those who uphold biblical truths. However, God has given us a spirit of boldness, not fear (2 Timothy 1:7). Boldness does not mean arrogance but a confident trust in God’s authority and the gospel’s power. Daniel’s faithfulness in Babylon serves as an example of how to maintain obedience despite external pressures. Even in the face of a fiery furnace, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the king’s image, declaring, “Our God whom we serve can deliver us…but if not…we will not serve your gods” (Daniel 3:17-18).3. Boldly Proclaiming the GospelAs Christians, we are called to live righteously and share the gospel boldly. This often requires speaking truth to power, addressing injustices, and proclaiming God’s truth in a culture that may reject it.Speaking Truth in LoveEphesians 4:15 encourages us to speak the truth in love, growing in Christlikeness. Boldness does not equate to aggression; it requires a balance of courage and compassion. Jesus exemplified this balance when He confronted the Pharisees about their hypocrisy while offering salvation to those who repented (Matthew 23; John 3:1-21).The Gospel and Social InjusticeThroughout Scripture, God’s people are called to advocate for justice and righteousness. Proverbs 31:8-9 says, “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Speaking truth to power often involves challenging systems of oppression and calling leaders to align with God’s justice. Examples include:* Nathan confronts King David about his sin with Bathsheba (2 Samuel 12:1-14).* John the Baptist rebuked Herod for his immoral actions (Mark 6:18-20).Today, believers are called to confront societal issues such as racism, corruption, and exploitation, always pointing people back to the gospel as the ultimate solution.4. The Cost of Bold FaithBoldly speaking truth and living according to God’s standards often comes at a cost. Jesus warned His disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23).Facing OppositionPaul’s commitment to the gospel led to persecution, imprisonment, and martyrdom. Yet he declared, “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). Similarly, believers today may face ridicule, loss of opportunities, or strained relationships for standing firm in the faith.Counting the CostThe cost of following Christ is great, but the reward is more significant. In Matthew 5:10-12, Jesus promises blessing and reward for those persecuted for righteousness’ sake. The ultimate goal is eternal joy in God’s presence, not earthly comfort.5. How to Stay Faithful in a World That Rejects TruthTo maintain faithfulness amidst opposition, believers must prioritize their relationship with God and rely on His strength.Abide in ChristJesus said, “Abide in me, and I in you…apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:4-5). Staying connected to Christ through prayer, worship, and Scripture equips us to face challenges confidently.Cling to God’s PromisesWhen the world feels overwhelming, we can find peace in God’s promises:* “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1).* “I will never leave nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).Focus on EternityColossians 3:2 urges us to “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” When we view life through the lens of eternity, man's approval loses its importance compared to pleasing God.Conclusion: Living for God AloneGalatians 1:10 reminds us we cannot serve God and man's approval. As believers, our purpose is to glorify God by keeping His commandments and boldly proclaiming the gospel, even in the face of opposition.Living for God means embracing the tension of being “in the world but not of the world.” It requires courage, obedience, and an unwavering focus on Christ. Let us commit to posturing ourselves as faithful servants, speaking truth with love, and living boldly for the One who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).Key Takeaway: You can’t please everyone, but you can live to please the one who matters most. Trust God’s Word, proclaim His truth, and stand firm in His purpose for your life. The Soul Revivalist is a reader-supported publication. I Know It's Hard But We Have To Pray For Our Leaders, What They Do Affects Us

IntroductionWhat does it mean to live “the civil life”? For Christians, this phrase captures the essence of a life marked by peace, godliness, and dignity—a life rooted in prayer and aligned with God’s will. In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, the apostle Paul provides a clear directive for how we should approach this kind of living:"I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way."This passage calls us to intentional, inclusive prayer as a means of transforming not only our personal lives but also our communities and nations. In this post, we’ll explore what it means to live a civil life and how prayer plays a central role in achieving peace and purpose. The Foundation of the Civil Life: Prayer for All PeoplePaul begins with a straightforward yet profound command: pray for all people. This isn’t a selective instruction; it’s a universal one. We’re called to intercede for everyone—neighbors, coworkers, strangers, and especially those in positions of authority. The command to pray for leaders is particularly striking. In Paul’s time, the Roman government was often hostile toward Christians. Yet Paul urged Timothy and his congregation to lift their rulers in prayer, demonstrating the transformative power of intercession. This act of obedience not only pleases God but also fosters peace in society. Why Pray for Leaders?Paul explains the purpose of these prayers: “That we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way” (1 Timothy 2:2). By praying for those in authority, we align ourselves with God’s plan for peace and order. Leadership profoundly impacts a community's well-being, and when we pray for our leaders, we invite God to work through them for the benefit of all.Imagine the impact of every believer who regularly prays for their local and national leaders. Prayer could soften hearts, inspire wisdom, and pave the way for just and equitable governance. It isn’t just a spiritual exercise; it’s a means of partnering with God to bring His kingdom to earth. The Power of Transformative PrayerPrayer can change circumstances, but more importantly, it changes us. When we commit to praying for others, especially those we find challenging to respect or agree with, we cultivate humility, patience, and compassion.History provides numerous examples of the transformative power of prayer. During the 1857–58 Prayer Revival in New York, a noon prayer meeting grew nationwide, leading to widespread spiritual renewal and societal impact. This revival was fueled by intercession—not just for personal needs but for the nation and its leaders. In the same way, our prayers today can bring peace and restoration to fractured communities. Psalm 60:2 reminds us, “You have shaken the land and torn it open; mend its fractures, for it is quaking.” Prayer is a way of mending these fractures, inviting God’s healing into our broken world.Shifting Our Perspective: From Self to KingdomOne of the most significant challenges in prayer is moving beyond our needs to focus on God’s kingdom. It’s natural to pray for personal concerns, but Paul’s call in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 challenges us to broaden our perspective.Consider your own prayer life. Are your prayers primarily self-focused, or do they reflect a heart for others? Kingdom-focused prayer includes interceding for leaders, neighbors, and even those we disagree with. As Ephesians 4:29 reminds us, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what helps build others up according to their needs.”By prioritizing intercession, we align our hearts with God’s purposes and demonstrate His love to the world.Living the Civil Life in ActionSo, how do we apply Paul’s teaching to our daily lives? Here are practical steps to start living the civil life:* Commit to Daily Prayer for Leaders: Set aside time each day to pray specifically for your local and national leaders. Ask God to give them wisdom, integrity, and compassion.* Pray for Your Community: Lift your neighbors, coworkers, and those who influence your life. Ask God to bring peace and unity to your community.* Examine Your Heart: Reflect on bitterness or frustration toward others, especially leaders. Ask God to replace those feelings with love and patience.* Join a Prayer Group: Find or start a group dedicated to intercessory prayer. There’s power in collective prayer, as seen in movements like the Great Awakening and modern prayer revivals. Why It Matters: The Eternal PerspectivePaul’s call to prayer is not just about improving earthly circumstances; it’s about aligning with God’s eternal purposes. When we pray for leaders and all people, we participate in God’s plan to bring peace, justice, and salvation to the world. As Ephesians 4:3 reminds us, “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Prayer is one of our most potent efforts to foster unity and advance God’s kingdom. Conclusion: Answering the CallLiving the civil life is a call to action, a call to prayer, and a call to trust in God’s transformative power. It’s about more than just personal peace; it’s about contributing to the peace and godliness of the world around us.Will you commit to this calling? Will you pray with faith and humility for your leaders, neighbors, and community? We can reflect God’s love and bring His peace to a divided world.I urge you to let’s partner in prayer and purpose as we strive to live a civil life. Is Black Excellence Worth Selling Your Soul For? The So-Called 40 Under 40 Black Leaders, Innovators, and Visionaries Shaping The Future Examined

In today’s world, "Black Excellence" has become synonymous with breaking barriers, achieving success, and creating a legacy. From innovators and visionaries to entertainers and entrepreneurs, we celebrate those who rise above adversity to redefine what’s possible. But beneath the glitz and accolades lies a sobering question: At what cost? The Bible reminds us, “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” (Mark 8:36). As we examine the lives of many so-called leaders and icons shaping the future, we must ask ourselves whether their success aligns with God’s principles or comes at the expense of eternal truths. In a culture where idolatry of self, wealth, and power thrives, the danger of compromising one’s soul looms large. The Trap of Worldly SuccessThe pursuit of excellence is not inherently wrong. God calls us to use our gifts for His glory and to work diligently: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Colossians 3:23). However, the issue arises when success becomes an idol—when ambition replaces faith, and accolades from man take precedence over obedience to God.We see this in many areas today. Influential leaders often compromise integrity for power. Innovators adopt unethical practices to dominate markets. Celebrities exalt their platforms while rejecting God’s authority. This echoes the warning in Proverbs 14:12: “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.”The Danger of Selling Your SoulIn a society obsessed with wealth and prestige, the temptation to “sell your soul” for temporary gain is stronger than ever. We often witness individuals who once stood for truth and justice falter under the weight of their ambitions. They sacrifice relationships, morals, and even their faith for fleeting recognition.Jesus Himself was tempted with worldly power when Satan offered Him all the kingdoms of the world in exchange for worship. His response was clear: “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’” (Matthew 4:10). This moment reminds us that no worldly success can ever compare to the eternal rewards found in God’s Kingdom. The Call to True ExcellenceTrue excellence is in aligning your purpose with God’s will, not chasing the world’s definition of success. Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:31: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” Excellence that glorifies God uplifts others, honors His commandments, and leaves a legacy rooted in love and faith. As we celebrate Black Excellence, let us also reflect on whether our pursuit of success reflects God’s truth. Are we using our platforms to serve His Kingdom or to exalt ourselves? Are we standing firm in faith or compromising for worldly applause?ConclusionThe path of righteousness is not easy but leads to eternal life. Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate, broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14).Black Excellence is worth celebrating when it reflects God’s principles and furthers His Kingdom. But when success becomes an idol, it’s time to reevaluate. Remember, the most incredible legacy you can leave is one that honors God.Your choice is yours: Will you chase the world or follow Christ? Your answer will define your life and your eternity. Thanks for reading The Soul Revivalist! This post is public so feel free to share it.The Soul Revivalist is a reader-supported publication. The Mindset Shift To Re-Discover Your Divine Purpose

Exegesis of Romans 8:28Verse: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28, NIV)Key Points:* The Prerequisite:This promise is specifically for those who love God and are aligned with His purpose. Love and honor for God demand a mindset shift—away from self-centered goals and societal pressures to a Christ-centered life. Without this shift, the promise remains unclaimed.* The Mindset Shift:Loving God involves intentional surrender to His will. Only through this surrender can you break free from societal traps like materialism, fear, and false teachings. When you love and trust God, you unlock clarity about your purpose and move into a life of divine abundance.* Breaking Free:Anchoring oneself in God's truth can break the societal traps of consumerism, false success, and distorted teachings. Romans 8:28 promises that God uses everything—even the hard times—to refine and redirect us toward our true calling.* How to Get Unstuck:* Develop Genuine Love for God: Study His Word daily (Psalm 119:105).* Seek His Purpose in Prayer: Ask God to reveal His plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11).* Honor Him Through Obedience: Follow His commandments and trust His timing (John 14:15).* The Only Solution:Societal teachings fail because they lack eternal perspective. Only through loving God and aligning with His will can we experience freedom, peace, and purpose.Responsive Verses For Further Bible Study:* Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."* Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."* John 14:15: "If you love me, keep my commands."* Psalm 119:105: "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."* Matthew 6:33: "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."Glory to God For This Word of Love, Freedom, and a Re-Discovered Purpose.~ The Soul RevivalistDr. Makeda Ansah The Soul Revivalist is a reader-supported publication. COMING JANUARY 2025- When Your Husband Is Your Soul Snatcher - A Series

Abandonment leaves scars that ripple through generations, affecting individuals, entire families, and communities. It creates emotional wounds that many carry silently, often shaping their identities in ways they don’t even recognize. As someone who has walked through the pain of abandonment, I know firsthand the weight it carries. The recent Giselle Pelicot case is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of abandonment and misogyny in our society. It forces us to confront uncomfortable truths about how women are often left unprotected, their voices silenced by systemic neglect. But this isn’t just a conversation about broken systems—it’s a call to action for healing, restoration, and alignment with God’s purpose. Through my testimony and the principles in my book Rest, Revive, and Reset, I’ll explore how we can address these deep wounds and transform our lives and communities. The Giselle Pelicot Case: A Wake-Up CallThe case of Giselle Pelicot highlights the far-reaching consequences of abandonment. The fallout is devastating when husbands fail to love and protect their wives as God commands.* Impact on Families: Abandonment fractures the foundation of the family, leaving women to bear the burden alone and children to navigate the world without a sense of security.* Generational Effects: These wounds don’t stop with one generation. Children often grow up carrying the trauma, perpetuating cycles of brokenness in their own lives.* Societal Neglect: Cases like Giselle’s are not isolated but symptomatic of a more significant issue. As a society, we’ve normalized misogyny and abandonment, failing to hold systems and individuals accountable.God’s Mandate for HusbandsScripture clearly outlines the role of husbands in marriage. They are called to love, protect, and cherish their wives, modeling Christ’s love for the church.* Ephesians 5:25: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”* This love is sacrificial, not self-serving. It prioritizes the wife's well-being, creating a foundation of trust and security.* 1 Peter 3:7: “Husbands, in the same way, be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect... so that nothing will hinder your prayers.”* Respect and understanding are not optional; they are spiritual imperatives that affect the marriage and the husband’s relationship with God.When these commands are ignored, the consequences are far-reaching. Families crumble, children grow up with emotional scars, and society suffers the collective weight of brokenness.Tracing the Roots of Misogyny and AbandonmentTo understand the issue entirely, we must trace its roots back to the beginning.* Genesis 3:16: “Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”* The fall introduced brokenness into male-female relationships, leading to dominance, inequality, and pain.* Childhood Trauma:* Boys who grow up in homes without loving, present fathers often replicate cycles of abandonment and neglect.* Girls raised in these environments struggle with self-worth and may accept unhealthy relationships as usual. This broken foundation is further amplified by societal systems that devalue women. From cultural norms to recent scandals in the music industry, we see how misogyny is not just a personal issue but a systemic one.Dr. Makeda Ansah’s Testimony: From Abandonment to Revival As an abandoned wife, I know the pain of navigating life’s storms alone. I felt rejected, unloved, and unworthy. But my story didn’t end there, and I want you to know that yours doesn’t have to either.* God’s Faithfulness: In my darkest moments, I turned to God. He reminded me that my worth isn’t defined by another person’s actions but by His love for me.* Healing the Wounds: Healing wasn’t instant—it was a process. It required me to rest in His presence, revive my spirit through His Word, and reset my life around His purpose.* Finding Purpose: Through my pain, God birthed a mission: to help others find healing, restoration, and alignment with His plan for their lives. The Role of Culture and Recent ScandalsThe exploitation of women, as seen in recent music industry scandals, is a glaring example of how our culture perpetuates misogyny. Women are commodified, their value reduced to what they can provide rather than who they are as individuals created in God’s image. This toxic culture stems from unresolved trauma and a lack of accountability, both in individuals and systems. We must address these issues at their root, starting with ourselves and our families. How Rest, Revive, and Reset Can HelpHealing begins within. My book, Rest, Revive, and Reset, offers a roadmap for overcoming the pain of abandonment, betrayal, and societal neglect. What You’ll Learn:* Rest: Discover the power of resting in God’s presence to heal emotional wounds and gain clarity.* Revive: Strengthen your spirit through biblical principles and practical steps for spiritual growth.* Reset: Align your life with God’s purpose, breaking free from cycles of pain and dysfunction.Key Scripture:Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind.”This book is more than a guide—it’s a lifeline for anyone seeking peace, healing, and purpose.Practical Steps for Healing and Restoration* Pause and Reflect: Take time each day to evaluate your intentions and actions. Are they aligned with God’s will?* Seek God’s Guidance: Pray for clarity and strength to make decisions that honor Him.* Engage in Community: Surround yourself with people who will support and encourage you on your journey.* Take Action: Break the cycles of pain and dysfunction by setting boundaries, seeking counseling, and committing to growth.A Call to ActionIt’s time to confront the pain, break the cycles, and create a new legacy for future generations. Reflect Today to Avoid Resentment Tomorrow

Reflect Today to Avoid Resentment TomorrowAs we approach the month of promises, it’s time to prepare our souls for the blessings God desires to pour into our lives. This preparation requires intentional reflection, repentance, and a mindset shift to cleanse ourselves of negative, life-limiting thoughts that block God’s promises.Know, reflection is not just a passive exercise but an active search of our hearts to identify habits, mindsets, and distractions that cause discord, disunity, and spiritual stagnation. Pride, selfishness, and distractions keep us from aligning with God’s will and receiving His promises.Scripture calls us to reflect and repent:* Lamentations 3:40 – “Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.”* Psalm 139:23-24 – “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Prayer is a powerful tool in this process. When we pray and seek God with humility, He promises to guide us and fulfill His plans in our lives:* Jeremiah 29:13 – “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”* Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” By reflecting, repenting, and seeking God, we position ourselves to enter the month of promises with clarity, peace, and a renewed hunger for Him. Let go of resentment and distractions today so that tomorrow can be filled with spiritual growth and unity with God’s will.Call to Action:Take time today to pray, reflect, and align your heart with God’s purpose. Write down areas of your life to surrender and trust Him to lead you into the promises He has prepared. In Love, ~ The Soul RevivalistThe Soul Revivalist is a reader-supported publication. Stop Resisting Change and Do These 3 Things

Life has a way of throwing challenges at us when we least expect them, leaving us stressed, anxious, and sometimes even physically drained. We often fight against the current, trying to control outcomes, resist reality, and push forward despite feeling broken and weary. However, there is a path to freedom, peace, and healing—a path illuminated by the Word of God and practical actions that invite transformation. Today, I want to share with you three behavioral fixes rooted in biblical wisdom that can rid you of immediate stress, relieve anxiety, and prevent physical harm. Let’s dive into the principles of Acceptance, Reflection, and Repentance.1. Acceptance: Embrace What IsThe first step to inner peace is acceptance. Many of us resist circumstances because we wish they were different or hope for an alternate outcome. We expend so much energy trying to change what is out of our control that it drains us mentally, emotionally, and physically. Acceptance is not synonymous with defeat—it is an act of surrendering our burdens to God.Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us:Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.Acceptance means we stop relying solely on our perspective and allow God to work through our circumstances.Practical Application:When faced with stress or anxiety, pause and acknowledge what you cannot change. Say a prayer of surrender: “Lord, I accept this situation as it is, and I trust You to guide me through it.” When you embrace reality without fighting it, you free yourself from the suffocating grip of resistance. Acceptance opens the door to divine intervention, where God’s power becomes evident.Example:Think about the story of Paul and his thorn in the flesh (2 Corinthians 12:7-10). Despite pleading with the Lord to remove it, Paul ultimately accepted it as a way for God’s power to be made perfect in his weakness. The result was not only relief from striving but a new perspective of strength in God’s grace.2. Reflection: Seek Divine InsightAfter accepting your circumstances, take time for reflection. Reflection is essential for understanding the deeper lessons God may be teaching you through your current situation. Stress and anxiety often stem from a chaotic mind, one that is constantly racing with unanswered questions and fear of the unknown. Reflection allows us to pause, quiet the mind, and make space for divine insight.Psalm 46:10 tells us:Be still, and know that I am God.When we reflect, we shift from reacting to responding. It is in this stillness that God speaks, offering wisdom and perspective that surpass human logic.Practical Application:Dedicate time each day to stillness and prayerful reflection. Start with just five minutes, sitting quietly and focusing on your breath. Ask God, “What are You teaching me in this moment?” Journaling can be a powerful tool here. Write down your thoughts, prayers, and any revelations that come to you. This practice can turn moments of anxiety into moments of clarity and inspiration.Example:Consider King David, who often reflected on his trials and God’s faithfulness in the Psalms. David’s life was full of battles and betrayal, yet his moments of reflection brought him wisdom and peace. It is through reflection that David recognized God’s unyielding support and found the courage to face his challenges with faith.3. Repentance: Release and RenewThe final fix is repentance. This is more than just feeling sorry for past actions; it’s an active choice to turn away from behaviors, thoughts, or attitudes that contribute to your stress and anxiety. Repentance allows us to align ourselves with God’s will and experience His peace.Acts 3:19 says:Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.Repentance leads to spiritual cleansing and renewal, lifting the weight of guilt and worry.Practical Application:Examine your life and ask, “What actions or thoughts am I holding onto that keep me in a state of stress?” Once identified, confess them to God. Repentance can be transformative—a release of the burden that has held you captive. Make a conscious effort to replace negative behaviors or thoughts with ones that align with God’s Word.Example:Jonah’s story offers a powerful illustration of repentance. After running from God’s command and finding himself in the belly of a great fish, Jonah repented and turned back to God. The result was not just personal liberation but a successful mission that brought an entire city to repentance. Conclusion: Trust in the ProcessThe journey to overcoming stress and anxiety is not always an easy one. It requires us to stop resisting and start trusting—to trust in God’s plan, embrace acceptance, seek reflection, and practice repentance. Proverbs 3:5-6 serves as a constant reminder that when we put our trust in the Lord and lean not on our understanding, He will guide us on a path free from the crippling weight of anxiety. These three behavioral fixes—Acceptance, Reflection, and Repentance—are not just spiritual concepts but practical steps that can be integrated into your daily life for immediate relief and lasting peace. Trust God, and He will direct your path to a life of freedom, joy, and divine purpose. The Soul Revivalist is a reader-supported publication. Introducing "The Liberated Me," Follow Me, Be Free!

Greetings Children of God!As I sit to share this testimony with you, my heart overflows with a deep sense of gratitude and awe for the journey God has taken me on. "The Liberated Me" is not just a title, it is a declaration of freedom, a declaration of what it means to fully trust and obey God, experiencing His promises and the abundant life He offers. In John 10:10, Jesus tells us, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” I used to wonder what that really meant—to have life to the full—until I finally let go and trusted Him completely. When we talk about abundant life, we're not just talking about financial success or worldly achievements. Abundance is far deeper than material gain; it's about peace, rest, and a sense of security that no storm can shake. I’ve learned through my own trials that true liberation comes when we no longer worry about money, family issues, or the chaotic state of the world, but instead, place our trust in the One who holds it all together—God, our Creator and Liberator.True Liberation Is Trusting God FullyTo experience this liberation, I had to release my grip on all the things I thought I needed to control. It meant surrendering my fear about financial struggles, letting go of the constant worry about how everything would turn out, and instead, letting the Holy Spirit take over. Isaiah 26:3 tells us, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” It’s that trust that brings real peace—the kind of peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).I know what it feels like to live under constant pressure and stress, but the truth is, that’s exactly where the enemy wants us. He wants to keep us in emotional overdrive, where our minds are consumed with what’s happening around us. But God wants us to rest. He wants us to know that He is in control, and when we fully release everything to Him, we allow real healing to begin. This is what true living feels like, what it means to live the John 10:10 way—amidst everything the enemy does to try to destroy us.Peace in the Midst of ChaosWe are living in chaotic times, and the world is full of strife and uncertainty. But even in the midst of it all, God offers us His peace. Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” This peace is not circumstantial—it doesn't depend on everything going well in your life. It’s a deep, abiding peace that stays with you, even when everything around you seems to be falling apart. For so long, I carried the weight of the world on my shoulders, trying to fix things on my own, but God showed me that I was never meant to carry that burden. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus invites us to rest in Him: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” This rest is available to all of us, if only we would trust Him enough to take our hands off the wheel and let Him lead.Prayer and Meditation: The Key to Abundant LifeOne of the greatest tools I’ve discovered on this journey toward liberation is the power of prayer and meditation. In moments where I felt overwhelmed by life’s demands, prayer became my refuge. In Philippians 4:6, we are told, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” When we take everything to God in prayer, we’re reminded that we don’t have to carry it alone. We’re also reminded that God is for us, working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).Meditation on God’s Word has become my daily source of strength. By focusing my mind on His promises, I can quiet the chaos around me and within me. As Psalm 1:2-3 says, “But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” When we meditate on God’s Word, we are rooted in His truth, and no storm can uproot us.Forsaking Trust in Man, Trusting God the LiberatorIf there is one thing I hope you take away from my testimony, it is this: Forsake putting your trust in man and trust in God, our Creator and Liberator. Jeremiah 17:5-8 warns us about the danger of trusting in human strength: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord... But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” People will fail us, systems will fail us, but God never will.Liberation comes when we let go of everything we thought we needed to control, and instead, rest in the knowledge that God is in control. We don't have to have all the answers; we just have to trust the One who does. In that trust, we find peace. In that trust, we find healing. In that trust, we find the abundant life Jesus promised us.The Liberated MeThis is the liberated me, free from fear, free from worry, free from striving. My prayer for you is that you will experience this same liberation. That you will come to know the peace of God that guards your heart and mind, and that you will learn to trust Him fully. Let the Holy Spirit lead you into all truth, and let His peace dwell richly in your heart. If you’re ready to experience the abundant life, it begins with trust. Trust in God, and let Him liberate you from the worries of this world. He is our Liberator, and in Him, we find true freedom.Ready to Join! The Time For Liberation Is Now: An Anecdote For The Worst Election Year of Our Life Time

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." — Romans 1:16 (ESV)Greetings:Welcome to the inaugural episode of "The Liberation Mandate," a podcast dedicated to exploring the intersection of faith, justice, and the call to true liberation in Christ. I’m Dr. Makeda Ansah, and I am honored to be your guide on this transformative journey. This podcast is not just another voice in the echo chamber; it is a clarion call to believers and seekers alike, urging us to turn our hearts back to the only true source of freedom and justice—our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The mission of "The Liberation Mandate" is to boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ as the ultimate solution to the world's deepest problems—whether it be systemic racism, political corruption, wars, or social injustices. We live in a world that is increasingly polarized, where toxic narratives flood our daily lives, driving division, fear, and despair. Yet, in the midst of this darkness, there is hope. This hope is not found in political leaders or human institutions, but in the living Word of God, the gospel that brings salvation, redemption, and true freedom. Our goal is to equip you, our listeners, with the biblical understanding and spiritual tools needed to navigate these turbulent times. We will challenge the toxic narratives of the day, exposing them for what they are, and offering the liberating truth of God's Word as the antidote. My Personal Testimony"My name is Dr. Makeda Ansah, and my journey has been one of struggle, growth, and spiritual awakening. Born into a world that tried to define me by its limitations, I was abandoned as a child and raised in the foster care system, where I faced the harsh realities of life far too early. As a Black woman, I have navigated the complexities of identity, the pain of divorce, and the challenges of single motherhood.""But through it all, I found strength in my faith – a faith that was not handed to me easily, but one that I had to fight for, nurture, and grow into. My journey led me to the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and that God is not distant, but deeply connected to the struggle for justice, for liberation." God our Creator is very much in tuned with Creation. God listens, guides us on our path, and stands up for us, all we need to do is believe, be faithful and pure in heart, be humble, patient and obedient. God avenges evil, and defends the marginalized, and oppressed (Exodus 1-10).The Message:As we stand on the precipice of what many are calling the most divisive and chaotic election year in our lifetime, it is clear that we are living in unprecedented times. The air is thick with fear, anger, and uncertainty. Many of us find ourselves caught in the whirlwind of false narratives, half-truths, and outright lies. We see the manipulation of media, the corruption in leadership, and the erosion of truth. Yet, in this moment of great turmoil, I am compelled to speak to the hearts of those who see and hear but are afraid to tell the truth.A Time to Fear God, Not ManFear is a powerful tool, one that has been used throughout history to control and subjugate. Today, many live in fear of a leadership that is eerily reminiscent of the past—leaders who have abused their power, oppressed the vulnerable, and led nations into darkness. In response to this fear, some have sought to create their own forms of leadership, believing that they can craft a better way. Yet, tragically, much of what we see is a repetition of the same failures—a different face, but the same heart of pride and rebellion against God.This is a warning and a notice to all who fear: the only solution is to turn back to God. Throughout history, we have seen the rise and fall of empires, the ebb and flow of power, and the fleeting nature of human solutions. But there is one constant, one unchanging truth: God is sovereign. He alone holds the keys to true liberation and justice. In Proverbs 9:10, we are reminded, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."I know that many have lost faith in God due to the failures of the church, the hypocrisy of religious leaders, and the overwhelming presence of evil in society. But I humbly ask you to reconsider. To seek God is not a sign of weakness but a sign of courage and great faith. In this world, where truth is often hidden and lies are paraded as fact, it takes incredible strength to stand up and say, "I will trust in the Lord."A Call to Humility and PrayerAs we navigate these turbulent times, let us be humble in our actions. Let us pray for our leaders, even those with whom we disagree. Let us pray for our nation, for the healing of divisions, and for the wisdom to discern truth from falsehood. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God promises, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."Do not sell your soul for a false perception of life. The world offers many temptations—power, wealth, influence—but these are fleeting. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36). The truth is that no political leader, no party, no movement can save us. Our salvation, our liberation, our true justice comes from God alone.A Call to Repentance and FaithfulnessNow more than ever, we must repent of our sins, both individually and as a nation. We must turn away from the idols we have created—whether they be political ideologies, material wealth, or personal pride—and return to the living God. In Acts 3:19, Peter urges, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."Be encouraged, my brothers and sisters. Though the times are dark, we are not without hope. God is faithful, and He is still on the throne. Do not forsake the truth for a lie. Hold fast to your faith, and do not be swayed by the chaos around you. The world may change, but God’s Word remains the same—yesterday, today, and forever. As we embark on this journey together, I want to remind you that this movement, while invisible, offers the only solution to the world’s problems. Examining Donald Trump's NABJ Interview Through a Biblical Perspective

In our rapidly changing world, navigating conversations, especially those filled with controversy and hurtful remarks, can be challenging. Recently, former President Donald Trump's interview at the NABJ Conference has stirred a range of emotions and responses. As followers of Christ, we are called to respond differently, guided by Scripture. In this special feature of The Soul Revivalist Podcast, "Assessing The Donald Trump Interview at The NABJ Conference with A Biblical Lens," we will explore how Philippians 2:1-4 teaches us to handle such situations with grace and humility.Philippians 2:1-4 (NIV)Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.Applying Philippians to Modern Conversations:* Unity in Christ: Remember our unity in Christ, finding common ground even in disagreement. This principle reminds us that no matter the nature of our interactions, our ultimate connection through Jesus remains unbroken. Whether we are discussing trivial matters or engaging in more profound, potentially divisive conversations, our shared faith should anchor us in love and understanding.* Comfort in His Love: Let Christ’s love guide our responses, showing compassion and understanding. When faced with hurtful comments or actions, instead of retaliating with similar negativity, we can choose to respond with the love that Christ has shown us. This love is patient, kind, and not easily angered. It is a love that seeks to heal rather than to harm.* Humility: Approach conversations without selfish ambition, valuing others above ourselves. This means recognizing the worth and dignity of every individual, regardless of their views or actions. Humility allows us to listen more than we speak, to understand before we seek to be understood. It shifts our focus from winning arguments to building relationships.* Respect and Empathy: Treat everyone with respect, blessing those who may curse us and doing unto others as we would like done to ourselves. Respect and empathy are crucial in any dialogue, especially those filled with tension. By considering others' perspectives and feelings, we can create a more respectful and constructive environment for discussion.Using these principles, we will assess how to engage respectfully, even with those who have hurt us, promoting a Christ-like posture in all interactions. This approach not only honors God but also paves the way for more meaningful and transformative conversations.Listen to this powerful episode and learn how to apply biblical wisdom to your daily conversations, especially when faced with challenging dialogues. Servant Leaders Wanted: A Biblical Response to Modern Political Power

Biblical Leadership vs. Modern Political Leaders: Who Should Lead?In today's complex world, leadership is a critical component in every sphere of life. Whether in the church, the workplace, or the community, the qualities of effective leaders are essential for guiding others toward success and fulfillment. The Bible offers profound insights into what true leadership looks like and who should lead. In this post, we will explore Titus 1:7-14 and Matthew 20:25-28 to understand the biblical perspective on leadership and the qualities that God values in those who lead.Understanding Biblical LeadershipLeadership in the Bible is not merely about holding a position of authority. It is about embodying qualities that reflect God's character and serve His people. Leadership, from a biblical perspective, involves integrity, humility, selflessness, and a commitment to the well-being of others. Let's start by examining Titus 1:7-14, where Paul outlines the qualifications for overseers in the church.Titus 1:7-14 – The Qualifications for LeadersPaul’s instructions to Titus provide a clear and concise list of the qualities required for those who would lead God's people. Let’s read the passage:"Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group. They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach—and that for the sake of dishonest gain. One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: 'Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.' This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the merely human commands of those who reject the truth." (Titus 1:7-14 NIV)The Importance of IntegrityPaul begins by emphasizing that an overseer must be blameless. This doesn’t mean perfect, but rather a person of integrity who is above reproach. Integrity is a fundamental quality for leaders because it builds trust and ensures that they lead by example. Leaders must not be overbearing, quick-tempered, given to drunkenness, violent, or pursuing dishonest gain. These negative traits can undermine the credibility and effectiveness of a leader.Positive Traits of a LeaderInstead, leaders should embody positive traits such as being hospitable, loving what is good, being self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. These qualities ensure that leaders are not only managing God's household effectively but also setting a godly example for others to follow."Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined." (Titus 1:8 NIV)Commitment to Sound DoctrineAnother crucial aspect of biblical leadership is a commitment to sound doctrine. Leaders must hold firmly to the trustworthy message, encouraging others by sound doctrine and refuting those who oppose it. This means that leaders should be grounded in Scripture, capable of teaching and defending the faith."He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it." (Titus 1:9 NIV)Addressing False TeachingPaul also addresses the issue of false teachers, describing them as rebellious, full of meaningless talk and deception. He emphasizes the importance of silencing these false teachers to protect the integrity of the church and its teachings."For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group. They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach—and that for the sake of dishonest gain." (Titus 1:10-11 NIV)Matthew 20:25-28 – The Model of Servant LeadershipIn Matthew 20:25-28, Jesus presents a radical view of leadership that contrasts sharply with worldly views. Let’s read this passage:"Jesus called them together and said, 'You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many.'" (Matthew 20:25-28 NIV)The Contrast Between Worldly and Biblical LeadershipJesus makes a clear distinction between worldly leadership and the leadership He calls for in His followers. Worldly leaders often exercise authority by lording it over others, seeking to establish dominance and control. In contrast, Jesus teaches that true greatness in the kingdom of God comes through serving others."You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you." (Matthew 20:25-26 NIV)The Call to ServanthoodJesus emphasizes that anyone who wants to become great must be a servant, and anyone who wants to be first must be a slave. This servant leadership model is about humility, selflessness, and a commitment to the well-being of others. Jesus Himself is the ultimate example of this kind of leadership, as He came not to be served but to serve and give His life for many."Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:26-28 NIV)Practical Applications for Today's LeadersSo how do we apply these biblical principles of leadership in our lives today? Here are some practical steps:Cultivate IntegrityStrive to be blameless in your conduct. This means being honest, reliable, and above reproach in all areas of life. Integrity builds trust and sets a strong foundation for leadership. Avoid behaviors that can tarnish your reputation and lead others astray.Develop a Servant’s HeartEmbrace the servant leadership model that Jesus exemplified. Look for ways to serve others, putting their needs above your own. This could be through acts of kindness, mentorship, or simply being available to help those in need. Servant leadership transforms relationships and fosters a culture of mutual respect and support.Ground Yourself in ScriptureStudy the Bible regularly to deepen your understanding of God’s Word. This will equip you to teach and defend the faith, providing sound doctrine to those you lead. A leader grounded in Scripture can guide others with wisdom and truth, standing firm against false teachings and deceptions.Foster Self-Control and DisciplineWork on being self-controlled and disciplined in your habits. This includes managing your temper, avoiding substances that impair judgment, and being consistent in your spiritual practices. Discipline helps you to stay focused on your mission and maintain a godly example for others to follow.Encourage and Rebuke with LoveUse your influence to encourage others in their faith journey. Be willing to gently rebuke when necessary, always with the goal of building up and restoring, not tearing down. Constructive feedback, given with love, can help others grow and strengthen their faith.ConclusionLeadership, according to the Bible, is not about wielding power or seeking personal gain. People from all geographical regions are tired of bowing to the few who seem fail to understand the true meaning of leadership and many are enraged over centuries of poor political systems that aim to destroy families and communities because of the lack of spiritual maturity and conviction of leaders. Leadership is about serving others, embodying godly character, and staying rooted in God’s Word. Whether you are leading in the church, your workplace, or your community, these principles will guide you in fulfilling God’s purpose for your life.In a world where leadership is often associated with authority and control, the biblical model of leadership stands out as a counter-cultural approach that prioritizes service, humility, and integrity. By following the examples and teachings found in Titus 1:7-14 and Matthew 20:25-28, we can become leaders who not only guide others effectively but also reflect the love and character of Christ.Thank you for joining us today. Lesson From A Prisoner

In a world where tragedies seem to multiply exponentially, the need for hope is more pressing than ever. Wars, natural disasters, economic hardships, and personal losses can leave us feeling overwhelmed and sad. Yet, even in the darkest times, a message of hope shines brightly, reminding us that our struggles can serve a greater purpose. This message is beautifully illustrated in the life of the Apostle Paul, particularly in Philippians 1:12-18. Today, we will delve into this passage, exploring how Paul's perspective on his imprisonment can inspire us to find joy in our hardships and spread the Gospel through our trials.Philippians 1:12-18 – The TextLet’s begin by reading Philippians 1:12-18 (NIV):"Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear. It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice."Paul’s Perspective on ImprisonmentPaul’s situation was dire. He was imprisoned, facing uncertainty and potential death. Yet, instead of succumbing to despair, he saw his imprisonment as an opportunity to advance the Gospel. This perspective is both radical and inspiring. Paul understood that his chains were not a hindrance but a platform for God’s work. The entire palace guard and others knew that he was in chains for Christ, turning his imprisonment into a powerful testimony.Advancing the Gospel through TrialsOne of the most striking aspects of this passage is how Paul’s imprisonment emboldened other believers. In verse 14, he writes:"And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear."Paul’s courage and steadfast faith inspired others to speak more boldly about Christ. This ripple effect shows how our response to adversity can influence those around us. When we face trials with faith and courage, we strengthen our relationship with God and encourage others to do the same. The Reality of Mixed MotivesPaul acknowledges that not everyone preaches Christ with pure motives. Some do so out of envy and rivalry, seeking to stir up trouble for him. Yet, he rejoices regardless because Christ is being preached. This teaches us an essential lesson about focusing on the bigger picture. Even when others act with selfish motives, God’s work continues. Our task is to rejoice in the spread of the Gospel, trusting that God can use all situations for His glory.Finding Joy in AdversityPaul’s ability to find joy in his circumstances is rooted in his deep relationship with Christ. He understood that his purpose was to glorify God, regardless of his comfort or safety. This perspective is echoed in other parts of the New Testament. For instance, James 1:2-4 (NIV) says:"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."Similarly, in Romans 5:3-5 (NIV), Paul writes:"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."These passages remind us that our trials are not meaningless. They produce perseverance, character, and hope. They are opportunities for growth and deeper reliance on God.Renewing the Spirit, Reviving the Soul, Rediscovering PurposeThe message of Philippians 1:12-18 is one of hope and resilience. It encourages us to see our struggles not as obstacles but as opportunities for God’s work. This perspective can renew our spirit, revive our soul, and help us rediscover our purpose.Renewing the SpiritWhen we understand that our hardships can serve a greater purpose, it renews our spirit. We are reminded that God is with us in every situation, working for our good and His glory. This renewal of spirit is crucial in sustaining us through difficult times. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) promises:"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."Reviving the SoulOur soul relives in the assurance that God’s purposes are fulfilled through our trials. This revival comes from a deep peace and joy transcending our circumstances. Psalm 23:3 (NIV) says:"He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake."Rediscovering PurposeTrials often lead us to question our purpose. However, as we see in Paul’s example, our purpose in Christ remains steadfast. We are called to glorify God and advance His kingdom. This purpose gives meaning to our struggles and motivates us to persevere. Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) reminds us:"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."Practical Steps for Finding Joy in Hard TimesTo apply these truths in our lives, here are some practical steps:* Shift Your Perspective:* Instead of focusing on the pain or difficulty, look for ways God might use your situation to further His purposes. Pray for a shift in perspective, asking God to help you see your trials through His eyes.* Seek God’s Presence:* Spend time in prayer and worship, seeking God’s presence. Let His peace and joy fill your heart. Psalm 16:11 (NIV) says, "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."* Share Your Testimony:* Like Paul, use your experiences as a testimony to encourage others. Share how God is working in your life, even through difficult times. Your story can inspire others to trust God in their trials.* Trust God’s Sovereignty:* Remember that God is in control. Trust that He is working all things for your good and His glory. Romans 8:28 (NIV) assures us, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."* Focus on the Gospel:* Keep the main thing the main thing. Our primary purpose is to share the Gospel, whether in good times or bad. Let this focus guide your actions and attitudes.ConclusionAs we reflect on Philippians 1:12-18, we are reminded that our struggles can serve a greater purpose. Paul’s imprisonment advanced the Gospel and inspired others, showing us that no situation is too difficult for God to use. We can find joy in hard times and spread the Gospel through our trials by renewing our spirit, reviving our souls, and rediscovering our purpose.Let us take heart from Paul’s example and embrace our challenges as opportunities for God’s work. In doing so, we will find hope and joy and inspire others to trust in God’s sovereign plan.Listen to the PodcastFor more on this powerful message, tune in to our latest podcast episode, "A Lesson From A Prisoner: Finding Joy in Hard Times – How Your Struggles Can Spread the Gospel." When Black Families Fall Prey To External Mediums For Help and Forsake God | Bible Commentary Over Opinions Podcast Ep. 1

The Derrico's Are Down and Out | Bible Commentary Over Opinions Podcast Ep.1Welcome to the inaugural episode of the "Bible Commentary Over Opinions" podcast, where we delve into the intersection of contemporary issues and timeless biblical wisdom. Today’s episode is titled "The Derrico's Are Down and Out," focusing on the detrimental harm inflicted upon the lives of 14 children and the broader societal implications caused by the recklessness of Derrick and Karen Derrico. This family, once celebrated in the limelight of reality TV, has become yet another sacrifice to the demonic stronghold called reality television, where no one is exempt from shame, psychological harm, and even untimely death, all fueled by the spirit of idolatry which completely disregards the will of God.Reality TV has long been a controversial genre, often showcasing the worst of human behavior for entertainment. The Derrico family, with their 14 children, was thrust into this chaotic world, and the consequences have been nothing short of tragic. The pressures and constant scrutiny have taken a significant toll, leading to a breakdown of family values and stability. What should have been a nurturing environment for the children turned into a circus of exploitation and emotional turmoil. Our discussion today is anchored in the Scripture from Matthew 19:8-9, where Jesus addresses the issue of divorce and the hardness of human hearts. Jesus said, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery." This passage highlights the sanctity of marriage and the divine intention for familial relationships to be grounded in love, commitment, and faithfulness. The Derricos’ story is a stark reminder of what happens when the sanctity of family is compromised for the sake of entertainment and profit. The relentless pursuit of fame and fortune, encouraged by reality TV, has led to the fragmentation of their family, causing immense harm to the children who are the innocent victims in this tragic saga. Their lives have been marred by the psychological damage inflicted by a toxic environment that prioritizes sensationalism over genuine human values. Moreover, the Derrico family's plight serves as a reflection of a broader societal issue. It underscores the dangerous influence of reality TV and its capacity to distort our perceptions of family, success, and happiness. The idolatry of fame, as seen in the Derrico’s story, blinds individuals to the true essence of life and relationships, leading them away from the path God has set for them.Join us in this episode as we unpack the spiritual and moral lessons from the Derrico’s downfall and explore how we, as a society, can resist the allure of idolatry and remain faithful to the principles of God's Word.Let’s strive to protect our families from the corrupting influence of media and uphold the values that foster genuine love, stability, and spiritual well-being.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/bible-commentary-over-opinions--6100959/support.The Soul Revivalist is a reader-supported publication. In community with fellow believers, we find strength, support, and accountability to help us stay the course and persevere through life's challenges. Whether online or in person, finding a community of faith can be a lifeline in our spiritual journey. Conclusion: Answering the CallIn a world that often seems adrift and disconnected from its spiritual roots, the call to awakening faith has never been more urgent. Whether you are a seeker searching for truth, a skeptic grappling with doubts, or a backsliding believer in need of renewal, "Awakening Faith" extends a hand of invitation and welcome. Together, let us embark on this journey of spiritual discovery, trusting in the transformative power of faith, hope, and redemption to guide us every step of the way.Citations:* [Awakening Faith: A Call to the Unchurched and Backsliding Believers](Awakening Faith: A Call to the Unchurched and Backsliding Believers) This is a public episode.
