The Arm and the Servant (Part 5): Eyes that See and Ears that Hear
In this series finale, Dan and Yohanan investigate the motif of spiritual sensory perception in Isaiah. They contrast the grim command in Isaiah 6 to "shut their eyes" with the beautiful promise in chapters 29 and 42 that the blind will see and the deaf will hear. The conversation brings the entire series full circle, showing how the Servant of the Lord, the very Arm of God, acts as a light to the nations to open blind eyes and release prisoners from darkness.

The Arm and the Servant (Part 4): The Suffering Servant as the Arm of God
In this episode, Dan and Yohanan reveal the profound "surprise" of the Book of Isaiah: the convergence of the divine Arm of the Lord and the human Servant of the Lord. This convergence happens in the famous passage of the "Suffering Servant" (Isaiah 52:13-53:12), where the prophet asks, "To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" and answers by describing a man of sorrows. The episode explores how God’s greatest act of power and salvation is achieved not through a display of strength, but through the sacrificial suffering of His righteous Servant.

The Arm and the Servant (Part 3): The Awakening Arm of Salvation
In this episode, Dan and Yohanan shift their focus to the "Arm of the Lord" across Isaiah chapters 40-52. They explore the powerful imagery of God "uncovering His arm" to bring comfort and restoration to His people. From the tender picture of a shepherd gathering lambs to the soaring prayer for God to "awake" as He did during the Exodus, this discussion highlights how the Arm of the Lord acts as the personification of divine power and the promise of a new, glorious exit from captivity.

The Arm and the Servant (Part 2): Israel and the Messianic Figure in Isaiah
Dan and Yohanan dive into the complex identity of the "Servant of the Lord" within Isaiah chapters 40-49. They examine how the Servant is explicitly identified as Israel, yet also appears as a distinct, righteous figure tasked with the nation's restoration. By connecting Isaiah 42 and 49 to the "Root of Jesse", they explore a Servant who brings justice to the nations and salvation to the ends of the earth.
