TC-40 Christian Parents - Don't Freak Out!
Christian Parents – Don’t Freak Out! Trinity Chats with Pastor Tim & Eddie What happens when parenting is driven more by fear than by faith? In this episode of Trinity Chats, Pastor Tim and Eddie take up the topic of Christian parenting and the subtle but serious danger of fear-based approaches. From anxieties about the culture to pressure over outcomes, they discuss how easily parents can slip into reacting out of panic rather than resting in God’s providence. They challenge the instinct to try to control every variable in a child’s life and instead call parents back to a distinctly Reformed posture—trusting the Lord’s sovereignty while faithfully using the ordinary means He has given. Along the way, they highlight the difference between wisdom and fear, between faithful diligence and anxious striving. This conversation aims to bring clarity, encouragement, and a measure of calm to Christian parents: your children do not belong to you ultimately—they belong to the Lord. And that frees you to parent not in fear, but in faith, with steadiness, prayer, and ordinary obedience.

TC-39 Spiritual Depression - When God Feels Far Away
Spiritual Depression – When God Feels Far Away Trinity Chats with Pastor Tim & Eddie What happens when a real Christian feels no joy, no warmth, and wonders if God has forgotten them? In this episode of Trinity Chats, Pastor Tim and Eddie talk about spiritual depression—what it is, why believers experience it, and how the Lord meets His people in the dark. They walk through rich biblical examples (Psalms of lament, Elijah under the broom tree, John the Baptist in prison), reflect on Martyn Lloyd-Jones’ classic Spiritual Depression, and draw comfort from Thomas Watson’s All Things for Good. Along the way, they make careful distinctions between spiritual and medical categories, explore assurance and doubt in the Christian life, and offer gentle, practical counsel both for those who are struggling and for those walking alongside them. If you’ve ever asked, “Why are you cast down, O my soul?” or you love someone who has, this conversation is meant to steady your heart and point you again to Christ, the Man of Sorrows who never lets go of His own. Resources mentioned D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Spiritual Depression: Its Causes and Cure Thomas Watson, All Things for Good (also published as A Divine Cordial) You can share this episode with someone who is in a hard season, and we pray it will help anchor their heart in the unshakable grace of God in Christ.

TC-38 Can We or Should We? Living Free Under Grace
Westminster Confession of Faith 20.1 “The liberty which Christ hath purchased for believers under the gospel consists in their freedom from the guilt of sin, the condemning wrath of God, the curse of the moral law; and in their being delivered from this present evil world, bondage to Satan, and dominion of sin, from the evil of afflictions, the sting of death, the victory of the grave, and everlasting damnation; as also, in their free access to God, and their yielding obedience unto Him, not out of slavish fear, but a child-like love and willing mind.” In this episode of Trinity Chats, Pastor Tim and Eddie discuss the heart of Christian liberty — not as permission to live loosely, but as freedom to live wisely and lovingly under grace. Christians often ask, “Can we do this?” but the better question is, “Should we?” Grace changes how we see obedience; it transforms the law from an external demand into an inward delight. Drawing from Scripture and the Reformed confessions, this conversation explores how the believer’s conscience is guided not by legalism or license, but by love. As Samuel Rutherford wrote, “Liberty of conscience is a freedom from sin, not a freedom to sin.” True freedom in Christ is never about how far we can go — it’s about how faithfully we can love God and others.

The guys discuss how modern culture confuses “feeling” with truth, and how Scripture—along with the historic Reformed confessions—calls believers to something higher.
