Jesus approaches his life and ministry on an eternal plane. He invites us to live as guests of eternity.

We behold Christ because he first beheld us.

John is not the way of peace. No man, no minister, no preacher, no baptizer, no guru, no sage, no counselor, no pill, no earthly comfort, is the way of peace. John guides our feet in the true way of peace. He points us to Christ, who is the way of peace.

When asked, "Who are you?" John takes the opportunity to explain who he is in relation to Christ. His true confession is the headwaters of the Church of Jesus Christ.

It often appears that we well "not in stately places, but in coarse and homely tents, and these, no doubt, sadly weather-beaten." However, God views his people as a lush garden and exulted kingdom.

The Lord is with his people. He stands for them against the enemy on the road to Zion.
