Truuman Podcast

I’m Lewis Hackney, and I believe now is the best time in history to be a man — not because of old systems holding on, but because for the first time, we have options. I’m the founder of Truuman — a platform and podcast built to explore what modern masculinity really looks like when men are free to choose their own path. Through honest conversations, real experiences, and spaces where men can speak without judgment, I help guys cut through the noise and get clear on who they want to be. Alongside the podcast, I co-lead The Foundry CIC, where we design and deliver workshops for boys, men, and the people who raise and work with them. We work with schools, businesses, and community orgs to create tangible change — from fatherhood support groups to staff training. My work lives at the intersection of culture, self-development, and honest conversation. If you’re a man trying to figure it out — or someone who supports them — let’s talk.

Mens Mental Health, Defining Masculinity & Hair Loss

Redefining Masculinity on Your Own Terms — with George Bell In this episode of The TRUUMAN Podcast, we sit down with George Bell — a man unafraid to question the status quo, confront his own burnout, and challenge outdated narratives about what it means to be a man. George is currently writing a globally published book on masculinity (coming January 2026 via Wiley) — and he joins us mid-journey to share his insights, experiences, and evolving philosophy. With over a decade working in the mental health space — and having personally navigated the highs and lows of burnout, image, and identity — George brings a powerful blend of lived experience, honest reflection, and visionary thinking. I want to be a fuller, freer version of myself.” “Masculinity isn’t broken — it’s just too narrow. It’s time we made space for more ways to be a man.” “Mental health work starts with honesty. Modern Fatherhood & Building a Supportive Dad Community with Ash Metfield 🎙️ This week on the TRUUMAN Podcast, we sit down with Ash Metfield, founder of New Dad Life, a growing community dedicated to helping dads navigate fatherhood together—without the pressure to be perfect. Ash’s journey into fatherhood is a relatable one. As a first-time dad to 18-month-old Leo, he quickly realized that there weren’t many spaces where dads could openly share their struggles, ask for advice, and get the real support they need. So, he decided to create one. Before launching New Dad Life, Ash was a creative force behind brands like War Paint for Men and JAAQ—helping the latter grow from zero to a £30 million mental health platform. Fatherhood isn’t meant to be navigated alone. ✅ There’s no ‘one way’ to be a great dad. Perfection isn’t the goal—presence is. ✅ Mental health and fatherhood go hand in hand. Quotes from Ash: “Dads are told to just ‘get on with it.’ But the truth is, we need each other.” “I wanted to create a space where dads could show up, be real, and grow together.” “I’ve built brands from scratch, but building a family? That’s the real challenge.” “The best thing a dad can do? Just be there. Show up. That’s what matters most.” Links: Website: www.newdadlife.com Community Direct: www.nas.io/newdadlife Social Links: Instagram: www.instagram.com/newdadlifeofficial/ Tiktok: www.tiktok.com/@newdadlifeofficial www.truuman.io www.thrfoundrycic.org.uk www.instagram.com/lewishackney

ABOUT THIS SHOW
