NF1 is a common genetic disorder that causes non-cancerous tumors (neurofibromas) to grow on nerves throughout the body. NF1 frequently impacts learning and development with children experiencing ADHD, learning challenges and speech delays. Vision and bone abnormalities are also symptoms along with brown spots on the skin and freckling.
