Verse-By-Verse Ministry With Heather Darnall

This podcast is a way for people to dive deep into the Christian Bible with me as I read scripture verse-by-verse from various books/sections and break them down for a better understanding of the context, but moreover, to have a better relationship with Jesus.  Additionally, I believe this podcast is a good starting point for anyone new to the Holy Bible, but is still good for anyone who is already well-versed.  That being said, please take note that I'm not a scholar.  I didn't grow up in the church, I didn't go to seminary school nor do I have any sort of qualifications that would highlight myself as some kind of guru.  I'm simply a seeker for the truth of God in which is what I want to share with anyone whose heart is open to hear and receive it.  But the main reason I started this podcast begins with a mini testimony:  I grew up very worldly having no knowledge of Jesus, just His name and all the popular stories or miracles during His life - maybe one or two apostles nam

The Ever-Effective, Yet Totally Ignored Guide To A Thriving Marriage - Part 2

Now knowing the differences between society's perspective of a marriage and a Christian's perspective of marriage covered in part 1, there's still the fact that couples still struggle.  A key aspect to remember though is that no marriage will ever be perfect, however, that doesn't mean marriages should still suffer.  Having said that, the only way a marriage will thrive is not only like I discussed in last episode that Jesus needs to be in the center, but also the roles of each spouse. In today's message, I'm going to address Ephesians 5:22-24 where Paul gives a short and sweet message to the wives as far as what our expectations look like  that can no doubt ruffle some feathers.  But take note that just because he has a heavy emphasis on one word, does not mean we only have one job, or one thing to be concerned about, as we actually have several.  While that seems contradictory, what we're to take away is that all of what's expected from the wives falls under the same category of that one word heavily emphasized.  But the overall point is how these various duties show how we're to be complimentary to the husband, not oppressed by him.  Please note that this is my personal interpretation of the scripture to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so. Support the show

The Ever-Effective, Yet Totally Ignored Guide To A Thriving Marriage - Part 1

When I was a young girl, I saw marriage as something to look forward to, but as I grew older, not so much.  This is because I had my parents marriage to look at as an example which unfortunately didn't end so well.  However, I wasn't opposed to the idea of getting married myself when I became an adult, but I had my own reasons why I should tie the knot if I do get married.  Only I didn't know they were a recipe for disaster because they were for my reasons, or more specifically, society's reasons. In today's message, I want to talk about what most people can relate to, which are marital shenannigans, and how more often then not, it feels like we have a ball-and-chain rather than a soul-mate.  That being said, I wanted to highlight the book of Genesis 1:26-27 as well as 2:20-24 and discuss where marriage came from, what it represents, and how it's vastly different than what society's image of it is: not centered around Jesus since society sees Jesus as too religious and/or too old-fashioned.Yet isn't it interesting - and tragic at the same time - how believing those we can find ourselves baffled at why our marriage may be suffering, or even feeling like it’s being sabotaged, contributing to the ever-increasing amount of divorces.  And during our marital struggle, we often fail to realize how all these divorces can paint a scary picture for the younger generations.  Moreover, isn’t it interesting how we're often unaware of the fact that all the pain and chaos what we're going through - if that happens to be you or not – is never by God's design.   And seeing God has a design in marriage, means there's also roles, in which I'll address the roles of spouses in parts 2 and 3.Please note that this is my personal interpretation of the scripture to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so. YouTube video recommendation on spiritual warfare: (copy and paste)https://youtu.be/knCY6-bdWs8?si=H_YKyEwGR239hJCTitle: Inside The Spirit Realm: How Angels Actually Fight For You  Support the show

    The Case Of Itching Ears

You’d think people who claim to be Christians would all agree on the same doctrine that was given to us, that being the doctrine of Jesus Christ, to recognize and acknowledge our sinful nature, thereby needing a Savior to save us, provided we surrender ourselves to Jesus. But the problem is, not all Christians see eye-to-eye on not just how we see/understand Jesus, but how we view our life styles being Christ-like or not.  Why?  Because of the ever-increasing amount of “Christians” searching for a doctrine specific to their individual desires and/or ideologies - i.e. sin, all to satisfy their itching ears.  In today’s episode, I’m going to highlight 2 Timothy 4:3-4 and heavily discuss two examples of false teachings/false doctrines that are rapidly spreading within the Christian community creating a massive division of not just mere differences of opinions, but hateful speech accompanied with threats.

    The Wait For It Moment

How often has something happened to us and we call upon the Lord but nothing comes of it.  And because nothing took place to make us feel like the Lord hears us, we feel like - well, I guess Jesus doesn't care.  The thing is, that's what Satan wants us to think and believe, but God wants us to live in expectation of Him coming through, only He never says how or even when.In today's message, I'm going to discuss the gospel of John 11:17-44, a time when Jesus's closest friends were depending on Him.  So much so, that it was a matter of life and death, yet Jesus seemed unbothered by their urgent request, or like He didn't love them as much since He didn't budge.  But what we tend to dismiss is that He did care, it's just that we don't like the fact scripture says He only takes the council of His will, not ours.  That said, He didn't have to run it by the two sisters who wrote to Him about how He was gonna handle it, or when.  He just wanted them to trust that they'd experience a wait-for-it moment that was gonna blow their mind beyond any miracle He ever performed, just as we're to do the same and asks us the same question He asked one of the sisters, do you believe?  Please note that this is my personal interpretation of the scripture to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so. Support the show

    To Lose Is To Gain

Imagine Pink Floyd singing 'Money' as you hear the constant sound of the cha-ching in the background.  Then as the song progresses, you hear things mentioned like “a new car, caviar, four-star daydream, I think I'll buy me a football team,” or “hi-class fidelity first class traveling set,” and “I think I need a Learjet” and so on and so forth.Unfortunately, that's the mindset of most people these days, no longer satisfied with the beautiful sound of nickels, nickels, nickels as the Peanuts character Lucy would say, but ever-growing amounts of money.  So much so, that it becomes their mindset, their identity, their true love.  In today's message, I'm going to discuss the Gospel of Mark 10:17-22 where it talks about a man and his money who was feeling unrest.  But not the kind of unrest where he felt like he needed more money, rather something more than that, specifically eternal life.  The only problem is, he wasn't sure how to get what he didn't have.  He came to the right source seeking it out but left disappointed since he wasn't willing to lose everything in order to gain what money can't buy.

The Flip Side Of The Coin

General conversations typically include everything except God and Government.  Or if they are a part of the conversation, it's not common to talk about them at the same time because heated debates are usually the outcome, or worse, relationships ending.   In this episode, I'm going to highlight Matthew's gospel 22:15-22 where Jesus finds Himself in the same situation talking about what most people avoid, that being religion and politics.  However in this instance, certain people went out of the way to bring these topics up, and at the same time too, in order to trap Jesus in His words in which they were so sure would be the cause to His own demise.  Only to their surprise and utter disappointment, Jesus masterfully answers them that instantly fizzles out any hope of bringing Him to "justice." Please note that this is my personal interpretation of the scripture to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

    From Filth To Faith

Have you ever thought that God would prefer to use someone else to advance His Kingdom simply because that particular person you may have in mind lives a better life than you, or made better choices than you?  I once thought that because my past is nothing shy of vile, disgraceful and pathetic to say the least. In today's episode, I'm going to discuss a woman named Rahab noted in the book of Joshua 2:1-21 who in her time, was considered to be unredeemable due to her pagan culture so hell-bent on the pursuit of everything evil that God absolutely despises.  Yet God radically transformed her, making her go from filth to faith which ultimately placed her in the Biblical Hall of Fame.  That tells us God can use what we think is waste and use it for His glory no matter the depths of our sin. - End of season 2, season 3 to begin late February/early March -Please note that this is my personal interpretation of the scripture to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

    Sweat For Your Spirit

When it comes to training, we typically think of work, sport, or skill-related stuff.  But more often than not, we don't factor in the one kind of training necessary to be the best version of ourselves that Jesus wants us to be.  In today's message, I'm going to highlight what Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 4:6-10 where he talks about training.  He used this word because it's a word most people associated, or connected to the Ithmus/Olympic games of that time.  However he wanted to make sure bodily training - a practice that does in-fact have value - was not the main focus since he goes out of the way to emphasize that spiritual training, or training in godliness, actually holds more value than bodily training.  Why?  because the earthly benefits and rewards greatly differ than heavenly benefits and rewards. Please note that this is my personal interpretation of the scripture to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

Obedience Is Not Meant To Be Comfortable

Obedience is a hands-down key element in our Christian walk, yes?  The only thing is, often times - and usually without realizing it - we'll do what is asked, but only if we know it will go our way or that we'll get some kind of benefit out of it, thus we want to approve what we're getting into before we act in that "obedience."In today's episode, I'm going to discuss what true obedience looks like, giving various examples throughout the Bible that come from the Gospel of Luke, Genesis, Daniel, and Isaiah.  This is to serve as a major wake-up call in our spiritual lives that will also hopefully lead others to live more faithfully in uncomfortable obedience.  And I say that because many of us aren't actually obedient the way we think we are, thus it could ultimately cost our eternal life, especially if we haven't been saved.

    Withering In Our Worry

Worrying is unfortunately something everyone does, some more than others, which of course invites a number of mental, even health problems, yet we still do it.  Jesus knows not only the physical side effects of it, but more than that, how it keeps us from trusting God to provide for us even the most minimum of needs. In today's message, I'm going to discuss the Gospel of Matthew 6:25-34, a portion of Jesus's sermon on the mount, where He addresses the very topic everyone struggles with which is to not be anxious.  He also points out how little faith we have.  And to boost our faith, He provides some examples to compare our value to other creations so that we would better understand that if they don't go without, then why would we?  Moreover, that the material concerns of life should be second to spiritual concerns.  That said, when we prioritize these concerns as such, all these things we needlessly worry over, are automatically added to us which also increase our trust and faith.  Please note that this is to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.  Support the show

The Proof, The Promise, And The Purpose Of The Coming Of Jesus

The Bible is of course known for the birth, death, and the resurrection of Jesus, which is plainly spelled out in the New Testament.   However, not many people know that the Old Testament points to that as well, and even less people know that God declared the coming of our Savior and defeat of Satan as early as the beginning. In today's message, I'm going to address the book of Genesis 3:1-15 and heavily discuss the fall of man which lead to our current depravity, death, and destruction, yet also point the hope within the curse that resulted from Adam and Eve's choice to sin. Please note that this is to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage everyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There many be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.  Support the show

    The Problem With Our Prayer

Prayer is commonly used, as it should be.  However, those who don't see anything come out of them have sadly come to the conclusion that prayers are useless, all because they have no idea what the problem is.  After all, aren't prayers supposed to work?  That being said, we need to go back to the operating manual so to speak (the Bible), and re-evaluate what's holding our success back because prayer was not designed to be ineffective.  In this episode, I expand off of what Jesus promised His disciples in the Gospel of John 14:14, which is a verse often misused because people are not properly educated on the background and/or what it's referring to which is prayer - effective prayer.  Please note that this is to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

Open Hearts Leads To Open Ears

Hearing from God is not uncommon, as it should be a daily experience.  However, today's method of hearing from Him isn't like in ancient times when He would communicate through visions and dreams, or even more clear than that which would be from His own mouth, as in an audible fashion.  Now, that's not to say He can't talk to us through any of those methods as He can do as He pleases.  It's just that through the years we have distanced ourselves from Him which naturally drown out His voice, or can confuse His voice with others.  In today's episode, I concentrate on the book of 1 Samuel 3:1-11 where young Samuel was working in the Tabernacle of God.  Even though He lived and served in the Tabernacle, he did not know God, as in personally until one day God's voice chimed in, several times too.  Even though Samuel heard it, he thought it was the high-priest, which tells us how more often than not, we can easily mistake who's actually talking to us, thus is why we must understand how open hearts leads to open ears in order to to hear and discern when God is truly speaking to us.

    Is Your Religion Worthless?

Would you ever think religion to be worthless? - if of course you're not an Atheist.  Well, James, the half-brother of Jesus seems to think it can be which should make us wanna scratch our heads and wonder how our faith in Jesus, i.e. our religion can be of no value.  In today's episode, I'm going to address the book of James 1:19-27 and unpack various areas where he says we're deceiving ourselves thinking we're undefiled Christians in the eyes of the Lord.  He does this by prompting us to do a self-evaluation to see if we're hearing the Word only, or actually doing what we heard to prove ourselves as disciples of Jesus, which is what will tell us if our religion is indeed worthless or not.

The Reason And Reality Of Hell

When it comes to our eternal destination, most people usually talk more about heaven than they do about hell.  Why?  Because more and more people claim to not believe it it, or water it down for a number of reasons, therefore brush it off.In today's episode, I'm going to expand off one verse from the short letter of Jude, verse 6 that refers to the very topic that can make us cringe which is hell.  And the reason we get all sensitive to it, is simply because it's not about rainbows and butterflies and/or anything that gives us a warm-and-fuzzy feeling.  However, take note that this message is not to fear-monger anyone as there's unfortunately plenty of that already wrongly going around.  Rather this is purely informative to perhaps give anyone not so sure about it more insight.

    Blinded By Busyness

I think we can agree that living in today's society, there's plenty to keep us busy, in which generally speaking is a good thing as it can keep us mentally stimulated, even healthier, if we're not chained to a desk.  But there is such thing as being too busy, even if it's being busy for Jesus.  In today's episode, I'm going to talk about a story from Luke's Gospel 10:38-42.  Even though it's only 4 verses long, it heavily emphasizes how we get easily distracted, focusing on our busyness to the point we've become blinded to the more important things in life literally right in front of us.  This is all because we're falling for how Satan tries to manipulate our priorities that not only affects the way we serve, but moreover, how it hinders our relationship with Jesus.  And if our relationship with Jesus isn't so hot, then it should be no surprise why our relationships with family or our fellowshipping feels like they're in the tank. Overall, if we don't address what Jesus made clear in this story, it only brings on more problems than we already thought we were in.Please note that this is to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

    Superficial Gratitude

Wouldn't you agree that mannerisms are important?  Particularly please and thank-you's, yes?  However, even though we know they’re not a requirement, it's just that if someone makes the effort to demonstrate them, we want, or at least hope  they'd be sincere, especially if we went out of the way to do something super thoughtful.  The thing is, we can usually tell when their gratitude is superficial, which sadly and ultimately makes us feel unappreciated.  And I'm just gonna take a wild guess, but I'm pretty sure no one likes to feel unappreciated since it could bring about a sense of being undervalued.  In today's message, I'm going to point out how Jesus felt the same in the Gospel of Luke 17:11-19 where He was met by 10 lepers to only feel unappreciated and undervalued after fulfilling their request.  This story is to get us to think about our mannerisms and how we also tend to give Him our superficial gratitude, especially for how thoughtful He is and for loving us so much.

    Can You Lose Your Salvation?

As we read the Word of God, we see or hear things that may seem contradictory leaving us feeling spiritually insecure.  One of those things that many lack their security and confidence in, is retaining their salvation.  Due to the different beliefs/interpretations, I wanted to dig deep into scripture, expanding off of the Gospel of John 10:22-30.  This is to show you what the Bible tells us plainly so that you can ultimately feel more confident in the promise that you were sealed in the day you fully received and accepted the gospel of your salvation, i.e. the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The World's Truth Vs. God's Truth

Wouldn't you agree that everyone wants to know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?  And for good reason too!  Yet they're super-skeptical believing it when they hear it.  I can understand why given we live in a world with too much information, especially today's technology being able to conjure up just about anything to make it come across as believable, or better yet, as the truth. That being said, makes sense how/why it's difficult for non-believers to distinguish truth from trash, thus is why some people have come to bizarre conclusions that even include something like, "the truth is, there is no truth."  But if you think about it, a statement like that is contradicting given what was just said, that being "the truth is."  So you see, there is truth, but it only comes from one source, a source that came into the world to show us what that is, or really who He is that's sadly often dismissed or even laughed at, that being the truth of Jesus Christ, all because people would rather believe the world's truth instead.  All that to say is why I'm going to highlight something Jesus said in John's Gospel 14:6 as our main discussion.  I realize it's just one verse, but I feel it really speaks for itself as well as how the devil is trying to mask God's truth by any means  so that people would remain ignorant and vulnerable to his plots and schemes.  Please note that this is to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as scripture encourages all believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is so important if you feel led by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

Jonah's Story: Is It Right For You To Be Angry?

The fact that God gave us various emotions to express ourselves is amazing, especially when word's don't suffice.  However, clinging onto a specific emotion is not healthy, particularly anger.  In today's episode, I'm going to read and break down the entire book of Jonah to show you how even a man of God can succumb to the things that tempt us, which in his case was anger.  And as you'll see, it was all. the. time.  Moreover, his reason for being angry was greatly fogging his perspective that was also keeping his heart hardened.  All that to say, it's a good thing that God doesn't condemn our anger, but He's not gonna sit there and condone it either, especially if our reasons for being angry in the first place are unacceptable, thus is why He presents not just Jonah, but us as well, the question “is it right for you to be angry?”  This of course is to not only provoke thought, but also an opportunity to repent. Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages all believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel led by the Holy Spirit to do so. Support the show

Esther’s Story: For Such A Time As This - Part 3

The Israelites/Jewish people have a long history of various groups of people attempting to utterly destroy the entire race, as that's nothing new today.  However, the book of Esther is one such time that also shows us a number of events unfolding to display God's sovereignty as well as His divine deliverance.  In this episode, I begin by recapping parts 1 and 2, but then I pick up where I left off at chapter 6 and complete the story which goes through chapter 10.  During this time, Queen Esther exposes Haman's plot to annihilate the Jews, his desperate attempt to have his life spared, to then ultimately being hung on the very device/gallow he specifically made for Mordecai.  When the day of doom arrived for the Jews to be exterminated, it turned into a day of gladness, for they had been allowed to defend themselves against any army/person who still desired/planned on carrying out the initial edict to destroy them, in which they took out 75K of those who hated them.  Shortly after, Mordecai had been elevated to second-in-command in all the land of the Medo-Persian empire and is also when he and Queen Esther inaugurated the holiday 'Purim' to be commemorated throughout all generations.- End of season one, season two begins in September - Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages all believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel led by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

In today's society and culture, especially with countless religions and denominations out there, it can be super easy to misunderstand and/or be misinformed how one can enter into the Kingdom of God.  One of the most trending ways people follow and/or believe, is that it's based off a works, or an achievement-type premises which unfortunately leads to spiritual death.  And because of that horrific end-result is why Jesus tells us that our "works" don't work, that the one thing we must do to be spiritually healed and redeemed, is to look up at the cross and believe, i.e. be born again in order to enter into the Kingdom of God.  So to have a better understanding of what that means and what that looks like, this episode is centered around an in-depth conversation between a confused, yet curious religious ruler named Nicodemus and Jesus that takes place in the Gospel of John 3:1-18.     Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages all believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel led by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

    Mind-Blowing Provisions

As a Christian, we know that having faith is paramount.  But most of us don't exercise our God-given faith simply because that would mean we'd have to step out of our comfort-zone.  In today's episode, I highlighted the book of Exodus 2:1-10 to point out some of the biggest acts of faith that were ever recorded which gave God the opportunity to orchestrate His mind-blowing provisions.  Not just to generally provide for His people, but to show everyone that the hand of the Lord has done this. That being said, ask yourself this question.  Do you genuinely exercise your God-given faith?  Or do you limit the limitless God to provide for you in miraculous ways all because you'd rather play it safe.  Friends, if that's you, God is patiently waiting for you to fully trust in Him so that He can not only blow your mind, but to testify to His love and greatness that would also bring unbelievers to faith.  Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as scripture encourages all believers to do so.  There may be times where I have misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel led by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

    Covering Our Sin

What a wonderful thing it is to have a Lord who knows that we're sinners and that we can't help it - as in He genuinely understands that our failures are inevitable.  But where He draws the line is when we try to cover our sin, more so thinking that God isn't looking and/or will never even notice, while at the same time not thinking that our bad choices have a negative effect on other people as well.  In today's episode, I'm going to talk about the dangers of not coming clean when it comes to our intentional efforts of trying to cover our sin using Joshua 7:10-26 as the main scripture.  It's extremely important to remember - and to know - that God is not a God that enjoys punishment.  However, He will follow through with it because He is a just God that cannot have any part of sin.   So keep in mind that we must understand He punishes the sin, it's just unfortunate that we, or the individual, carried out that sin, thus the sinner must also be punished.  Therefore we can see His continuous warnings as well as encouragement to keep His people - including us - on a path that best reflects His nature in order to maintain a divine relationship.  However, be mindful that Old Testament punishment at times was immediate whereas now living according to New Testament standards, our unrepented sin will be punished come His appointed time. Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as scripture encourages all believers to do so.  There may be times where I have misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel led by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

    Stop Interfering With God's Plan!

Are you a patient person?  I'm not.  As a matter of fact, if you think about it, no one is.  Now, some may have more patience than others, but it all comes down to it that we all have our moments of weakness.  In today's episode, I decided to highlight the book of Genesis 16:1-6 using Abram/Sarai (aka Abraham and Sarah) as some examples of how even the super-faithful people ditch their patience and interfere with God's plans.  And when that happens, like them, we too, get all upset blaming others while at the same time totally dismissing the fact we're the cause of our now unexpected problems, all because we insisted on our ways and/or on timing instead of God's.  Thus is why we need to stop interfering with God's plans so that we can finally experience not just the blessing of His plans in our lives, but more importantly, to see how He gets the glory that bring people closer to Him!Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

    Is The Sabbath Still Valid?

When we think of the 10 commandments, specifically honoring the Sabbath, many have the idea that just because they were written in the Old Testament era, that it no longer applies, thus leaving us to believe we can just do our own thing to find that “rest.”  Meaning unfortunately we don’t realize that we seek out things/activities that only centers around our physical and mental needs for that rest, totally dismissing our spiritual rest is not only compromised, but is more important.  In retrospect, there are others who strongly believe that that commandment still stands firm, observing/honoring it in the same way as we were expected to in ancient times.  So given the differences of the interpretation of the same commandment, I’m going to pull from the book of Exodus and highlight 31:12-17 as our main scripture to explain what the Sabbath is, what it means, and where it came from.  Finally, I'll close off showing you a couple of New Testament examples that Jesus did as a physical example to better understand His spiritual interpretation that ultimately answers the common question of “is the Sabbath still valid?”  Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

Does The Bible Teach a Flat Earth? - Part 2

In today's modern era, people are so hung up on facts, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but more often than not, many wrongly resort to the Bible to use as a debate book so they can prove themselves as right, or being smarter than another, totally dismissing the fact that the Bible has one specific use only -  to draw closer to our Almighty God by learning the sinful nature of our hearts, the importance of repentance, and moreover, that our salvation awaits us when we give our lives to Jesus. In this episode, I'm continuing and concluding the discussion of one conspiracy theory that the Bible teaches a flat earth, in which various verses have been hand-selected to "prove" that it does.  However, that "proof" is mere human opinion, a dangerous concept to insist on that also comes with consequences that are spelled out for us, so that we're considered warned.  Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage everyone to please check and verify as scripture encourages all believers to do so.  There many be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important, if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.  Support the show

Does The Bible Teach a Flat Earth? - Part 1

In today's modern era, people are so hung up on facts, which is not necessarily a bad thing.  However, more often than not, many wrongly resort to the Bible to use as a debate book.  And they do this so they can prove themselves as right, or being smarter than another, totally dismissing the fact that the Bible has one specific use only -  to draw closer to our Almighty God by learning the sinful nature of our hearts, the importance of repentance, and moreover, that our salvation awaits us when we give our lives to Jesus. In this episode, I want to address one conspiracy theory which is that some people believe that the Bible teaches a flat earth by compiling various/random verses that have been used to present their argument as fact.  When little do they know, the fact is that the scripture they're pulling or using, is far from what they think it means.  That being said is why I start off by discussing some history regarding the Bible, so that when I discuss the first few hand-selected verses, or break them down, it's much easier to see God's truth and meaning revealed - as in the spiritual interpretation, not what we think our human opinion about them means, and then address the last 3 verses in part 2.Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage everyone to please check and verify as scripture encourages all believers to do so.  There many be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important, if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.  Support the show

    What's Your Goliath?

We all know that life isn't easy, but not all of us know that life was supposed to be easy, peaceful, and everlasting with God the Father.  But since we don't currently live the way He originally intended and designed, we all face many situations - or a Goliath rather - in life that no doubt make us feel alone, unequipped, and/or defeated, which is exactly the way Satan wants us to feel - deceiving us that he has control over our lives and that God doesn't care, or is even non-existent.In this episode, my primary focus comes from the book of 1 Samuel 17:31-54, where I discuss in great length that although we experience these things that can make us feel we're at an all-time low, God wants us to know we're not alone, that He does care, and that He actually fights our battles, all so that He would be glorified and that we would draw closer to Him.  Additionally, it’s important to know with our God-given authority to approach and defeat our Goliath, misusing His name can bring a whole different set of problems, thus the importance of understanding the power of the enemy when we underestimate our battles and/or assume we can prevail on our own.  Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as scripture encourages all believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important, if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

    Refining Our Humility

Often times we think the tasks we do outside of the priorities in our lives makes us humble, when really, we do them as tasks, not serving, therefore we're not as humble as we think we are.  In today's episode, I'm going to highlight the Gospel of Matthew 18:1-6 and discuss how Jesus not only shows us that our serving others should be done with the mindset of serving God, but He also gives us a wonderful example of the humility we're to have when we approach God, which is to match the humility of a child.  Because if we fail and/or dismiss how we need to become like little children, then unfortunately, by our own doing, we forfeit entering into the kingdom of heaven.  He also makes it very clear that anyone who hinders a believing child to sin, should expect severe punishment for preventing them from entering their rightful position in the kingdom of heaven.  So in a small handful of verses, He connects humility, serving, as well as the dangers of misleading children to one simple concept:  Being His disciple or not.  Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages all believers to do so.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.Support the show

    Is Spirituality/Spiritualism An Abomination? - Part 2

Today's society and culture centers around "spirituality" and/or "spiritualism," however, many are deceived that either is a good practice, or something needed for peaceful living among other things.  While living peaceful and acquiring knowledge in various areas sounds like common sense and the right thing to do for a number of reasons, we often misunderstand the playing fields, thus fall into a deadly snare of various activities we think are fine, fun, safe, even helpful. These typically include common practices such as horoscope readings, nature, astrology, crystals, psychic readers etc. leaving the urgency for us to stop and ask ourselves if spirituality and/or spiritualism is an abomination.  In this episode, I expand on those specific things we seek out and why, which includes my personal experience and testimony when I personally dabbled in the spiritualism arena reaching out to a psychic medium.  Additionally, I expose Satan and his demon's ultimate motive for us, even highlight what they disguise themselves as, all to keep us deceived.

    The Art of Judging

It should come to no surprise that judging is still a major issue people deal with today.  And what we don't like to admit is, that we tend to feel like we're not guilty - or as guilty - as everyone else, as if that makes us better than the next person, therefore gives us the impression we don't really need addressing. In this episode, I'm going to start off with a quick intro about myself and the show since I’m new, and then highlight the Gospel of Matthew 7:1-6 that talks about what we want to either avoid or deny, which is judging.   That being said, it's in all of our best interest to see if we can adhere to this artful skill that so many look down on, when sadly, we don't fully understand that judging itself is not the problem - we are.  Please note that this is according to the best of my current knowledge and understanding.  I encourage to please check and verify as the scripture encourages all believers to do.  There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel led to do so.Support the show

ABOUT THIS SHOW
