Walking In The Living Word

Want to make a lie seem true? Say it again and again and again. Because of the world we live in today, if we arer not soundly grounded in God's word, we start to believe the world and Satan.

In this Journey of life, it is easy to feel the urge to take control, to grab the pen and write your own story. But as Christians we must remember that God is the author f our story. I believe that daily we must be reminded that God is still writing our story and to stop stealing the pen from Him. Throughout scriptures we are reminded, we must trust God even when the path seems uncertain.

Question for you today who is in control of your life? Are you at the wheel or are you allowing God to be in control? I am learning what it means to allow God to have His way in my life. I have to fight the urge daily to have it my way. Sometimes I think I can handle this alone but that is not what God wants no matter, how small the problem is or how big I think I am, I must allow Him to be in control. When I take the wheel and make the decisions it seems I end up lost, going in the wrong direction or crashing and burning.

It makes total sense that the God who created us can also heal us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Our creator God is our Great Physician as well. We should thank God for His restorative power and never hesitate to ask Him for His healing touch whenever we are hurting. In the scriptures, waiting on God is one of the open secrets to receiving His goodness and presence. Spending quiet time with God is the humble opening to God Himself. In the connected quiet, God downloads upon us the things we need.

I am constantly reminded to hold onto what I believe in. Jesus is the light, when the darkest (Satan / the world) has robbed me of all my sight. So many times in this life, we fall so far short of what Christ has called us to do. We can be praying and praising and feeling connected to the Lord, and then suddenly Satan shows up, and we start complaining, judging, sighing with impatience, feeling discouraged, reacting before thinking and most of all taking my focus off of Jesus. How can we go from one extreme to the next so quickly.

Prayer is communication with God which helps us break the chains that the world and Satan use to keep us bound with our past. It serves as a direct, deliberate communication with the Creator, offering praise, confession, thanksgiving, and petition. Prayer is not just a routine but a responsive dialogue with God, reflecting trust in His loving character and ability to intervene.

When I fall are we looking for God to catch us or are we allowing the world and Satan to catch us? Just as trees don't stubbornly hold onto their dead leaves, so we should not hold onto unnecessary weight in our lives. The image of "dead leaves" symbolizes the importance of letting go of unnecessary burdens in our lives. 

"Who Am I" Do we see ourselves as God sees us or as the world and Satan tells us who we are? Many of us waste time worrying about what other people of us. We want to be valued, loved, respected, and admired. But why base our identity and sense of self-worth on the opinions of other flawed beings when God's view of us is the only one that truly matters? Week Two of Our Journey to Freedom - Defeating Satan and This World I am hoping the message today will help us all to understand and discover the love of Gid, how God loves, how to love God, how to have a relationship with Him and then how to share that love with others.

Starting March 4th and going for 14 weeks Journey to Freedom, we are planning to start a podcast devotional study and include a song to go with it. The Bible often mentions people being called by God for a specific ministry or service. Paul was called by Go, the Old Testament priests were called by God to their special work. To be called by God is to be chosen by God for certain purposes. So when God calls someone to a task or area, how does He do?

Obedience is a fundamental aspect of faith, reflecting our love for Him and aligning our lives with His will as revealed in Scripture. Obedience in the Bible is not merely about following rules; it is about hearing, trusting, and submitting God's authority. In essence, biblical obedience means to hear God's Word and act accordingly.

Lately, I have noticed how often I hold myself back because I don't feel ready. Not ready to speak. Not ready to lead. Not ready to respond when God seems to be pushing me forward into something He wants me to do. Somewhere along the way, I picked up the idea that obedience requires confidence first.

The rear view is a metaphor used in sermons to illustrate the importance of focusing on the present and future while being aware of the past. It is a reminder to not be distracted by the past, which can hinder one's progress and spiritual growth.

We have all heard the phrase, "God doesn't give us more than we can handle," especially when life is overwhelming. But what does this really mean? The phrase " God doesn't give us more than we can handle" is often linked to 1 Corinthians 10:13.

The Principle of Second Chances - I want to encourage you with a simple profound truth: failure is not the end - it can be the doorway to your calling. "So do not fear, for I am with you,do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strength you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
