Blind and Deaf

Today we’ll take a peek at what Jesus had to say about those who hear and see everything going on around us, miracles, calamities, and the like, and yet still just don’t get it. Putting Them in Their Place

Woe!
Greetings my friends! Thank you for checking in on another episode of WTNT! Today we will take a look at Jesus’ warning to countries that reject his miracles and blessings and refuse to repent. Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.” vs 20-24 NIV“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. The Most Difficult Fight
Greetings! Thank you for checking out another episode of Walking the New Testament. This week, we are going to discuss the difficulties of being an ambassador of Christ in a fallen world. We’re all called to be witnesses of the truth. This doesn’t necessarily mean we are standing on a corner holding a sign that says “the end is near.” Sometimes, it also means living our lives in a way that points people to the truth. And, guess what? We will be hated for it. Of course, all verses below are from Matthew Chapter 10“If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet. Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.” vs 14-15 NIV“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another.” vs 21-23 NIV“…If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!” vs 25 NIV“For I have come to turn“‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother,a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.” vs 35-36 NIV“Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” vs 39 NIVThanks for reading and listening to Walking The New Testament! New Clothes
Greetings! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! Today we will chat a bit about how Jesus was an expert at putting the Pharisees and “Religious” leaders of his time in their place. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” vs 13“No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. We Don't Want You Here
Greetings!I trust your week has been a good one. Today we will take a look at how a gentile recognized Christ’s authority and how, in many cases, people reject the power of Christ and beg him to leave them alone. A Centurion recognizes the authority of Christ“The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.”” Verses 8-10 People beg Christ to leave them alone“Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. The Greatest Sermon Ever Preached: Part 3 (Finale')
Today we’ll take a look at the end of Jesus’ sermon on the mount. I plan to talk a bit about judging others, treating others the way we want to be treated (and how Jesus said that when we do this, we are fulfilling “the law”), and finally, how simple it is to be a Christian if we will study the Sermon on the Mount and do our best to put the wisdom of this sermon into practice.“You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” vs 5“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” vs 12“But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.” vs 26Thanks for reading and listening to Walking The New Testament! The Greatest Sermon Ever Preached: Part 1
Jesus’ sermon on the mount is actually 3 chapters long. Chapters 5 - 7. We won’t go through all 3 chapters today, of course. Here are the verses I plan to expound upon a bit today:37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.*** There may be no episode dropping next week (March 2, 2026) because I will be traveling. The Same Vipers are Among Us Today
“7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. 9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. 10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.11 “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. Is Defying the King's Orders Biblical?
7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream…19 After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt..22 …Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,…The Magi defied King Herod’s wishes by going home a different way.Joseph defied King Herod as well, not because he knew what King Herod had planned, but through his obedience to God.
