From Wrong Steps to Right Steps: Returning to God's Path
Send us Fan MailToday’s episode invites us into a deeply personal journey, one every believer understands. Sometimes our greatest struggle is not the stumble itself, but realizing we have slowly drifted from the path God intended for us. In this episode I explore how wrong steps often begin subtly, how spiritual drift takes root, and most importantly, how God’s grace always provides a way back. Through biblical truth, the story of the prodigal son, and practical encouragement, we’ll discover that no matter how far we’ve wandered, restoration begins the moment we turn back toward the Father. So whether your steps feel strong today or uncertain, take heart. God still straightens paths, restores hearts, and welcomes His children home. Stay with us as we explore From Wrong Steps to Right Steps: Returning to God’s Path.I invite you to follow our podcast and share it with others as together we walk with our Master. The Prattville family meets at 344 East Main Street, Prattville, AL. Footprints of Jesus
Send us Fan MailToday, we reflect on the timeless hymn Footprints of Jesus, a song that gently calls us to follow the Savior step by step. Through every joy, every trial, and every quiet moment of faith, Jesus has gone before us, leaving a perfect path of love, obedience, sacrifice, and hope.As we walk together today, may this beloved hymn remind us that the Christian life is more than admiration from a distance. It is a daily journey of following where our Master leads. Brought Together by the Master's Design
Send us Fan MailIt is incredible to think that God’s plan rests in our hands. I mean by this that as we look at events in the New Testament when the message of the gospel is taught, it is done through fellow Christians. God always brings the seeker and the teacher together. That is not done by chance. It is done by deliberate action on the part of our Master. I’ll explore more about this incredible responsibility in this episode.I invite you to follow our podcast and share it with others as together we walk with our Master. The Prattville family meets at 344 East Main Street, Prattville, AL. Are We Hoping For or Hoping In
Send us Fan MailWhat happens when what we’re hoping for… doesn’t happen? In this episode of Walking With Our Master we explore the powerful difference between hoping for something and hoping in Someone. Drawing from 1 Peter 1:3–5, we’re reminded that while our circumstances may change, our hope does not have to.It’s natural to hope for better days, restored relationships, or answers to prayer. But when our hope is tied only to outcomes, it can feel fragile and uncertain. God offers something deeper, a living hope anchored in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.Join us as we discover how shifting our focus from what we’re hoping for to who we’re hoping in brings stability, peace, and confidence—no matter what we face.If you’ve ever felt discouraged when the journey doesn't unfold the way you expected, this episode will gently remind you: your hope is not lost… it’s secure.Because true hope isn’t found in outcomes, it’s found in Christ.I invite you to follow our podcast and share it with others as together we walk with our Master. The Prattville family meets at 344 East Main Street, Prattville, AL. A Brief Look at Church History and the Restoration Movement
Send us Fan MailWhat if the church could go back…not to a new idea—but to an ancient one? Before denominations…Before divisions…Before labels defined belief… There was a simple faith centered on Jesus. In this episode I introduce Alexander Camptell and a movement he was a major part of. This restoration movement put forth a strong challenge. A challenge to go back to beliefs based simply of the Gospel message of Jesus, the apostles, and early disciples. It was a time before denominations, division, and modern religious complexities. It was a time of unity and focus on helping others discover the message of hope found in our Lord Jesus.Reference: The Christian System is a theological treatise by Alexander Campbell, first published in 1839.I invite you to follow our podcast and share it with others as together we walk with our Master. The Prattville family meets at 344 East Main Street, Prattville, AL. From My Will to Thy Will
Send us Fan MailAll too often we want things on our terms. We want our way and our will. This is not the way of a disciple of Jesus. Rather, we use the same words our Lord used as He was preparing for His death. He stated to God, regarding what was to happen, “Not my will, but thine”. That is the subject of this episode of our series on discipleship. A faithful disciple of our Lord Jesus is to state, not my will but thy will.I invite you to follow our podcast and share it with others as together we walk with our Master. The Prattville family meets at 344 East Main Street, Prattville, AL. Episode 48 - The Message of Philemon
Send us Fan MailMost of us don't receive personal letters very often. It seems the use of electronic communication has taken the place of hand-written correspondence. That makes a personal letter very special. The realization that someone cared enough about us or the message held such great importance that it needed to be written in our own hand.Even though hand-written letters have been used for centuries, they still carry an extra level of meaning. So as we study the letters written by Paul and others in the Bible, we should keep in mind the importance and gravity of these letters. In this episode I want to look at the true meaning behing one of Paul's shortest letters, the letter to Philemon. This short but incredibly powerful letter shows us the true essence of God's love for us. It shows the gospel in action.I hope you'll join me as I look at the remarkable letter from a brother, to a brother, about a brother. Send us Fan MailMany of us are familiar with the parable of the wise and foolish builders. It is a favorite parable of many. Episode 43 - The Biggest Little Word in Scripture
Send us Fan MailThere are a lot of big words in scripture, especially the Old Testament. And these words are hard to pronounce and understand. There are also many words that are as clear as can be and very powerful. In this episode I look at one of the biggest little words in scripture. It only has two letters; "if". This word is used a lot and always carries tremendous meaning.I'm going to focus on the wonderful and hope filled words from 1 John 1:5-10. John uses the word, "if" 5 times as he provides us with how we can have confidence in the faithfulness of God, even when we are weak. This information is based on a sermon presented by Jack McNiel at the Oak Grove Church of Christ. https://www.ogchurchofchrist.org/Sermons/the-biblical-word-if/I invite you to follow our podcast and share it with others as together we walk with our Master. The Prattville family meets at 344 East Main Street, Prattville, AL. Episode 42 - Why Does God Allow Suffering
Send us Fan MailIf there is anything we share it is that all of us have experienced suffering at some level. I often marvel at the resiliance and grace others express as I know the suffering they are enduring. A question that is often asked is why God allow suffering. Isn't He all powerful and all loving? How then can He allow suffering to happen to His greatest creation. In this episode I try to present some thoughts about this question. I don't have all the answers. In fact, I continue also to have questions. But this I know. I serve a loving God who gave His Son Jesus to suffer so that one day I and others can see an end to all suffering as we stand in His presence.I invite you to follow our podcast and share it with others as together we walk with our Master. The Prattville family meets at 344 East Main Street, Prattville, AL. In this episode we will look at this tragic life so we can see that it is insanity to not follow Jesus. As I looked around, it occurred to me that, except for my friend sitting next to me, no one in this mass of humanity knew, or cared who I was. There may have been a time when there were hundreds, maybe thousands around you, yet no one was noticing you. Perhaps you have seen others recognized for great things or promoted to higher levels of responsibility and wished you also could receive such recognition. We might expect this to have been the feelings of the three men in this episode at some point in their discipleship. Yet, as we study them, later we realize this likely never crossed their minds. Not everyone can be recognized as a champion. Not everyone will receive acclaim for his or her deeds. But in the Kingdom of God, we receive our crown of glory by honoring the Lord and showing Him to others. That is what marks these three men. They might be seen as obscure and ordinary, among the obscure and ordinary, yet they are shining stars in the Kingdom. These three men represent all the “silent saints” serving our Lord faithfully in obscurity. We may not know of their service, but our Lord knows. They are the ones using their talents in silent service as they feed the hungry and give drink to the thirsty, welcome strangers, cloth the naked, and visit the sick and imprisoned. Their names will ring out in eternity.I invite you to follow our podcast and share it with others as together we walk with our Master. The Prattville family meets at 344 East Main Street, Prattville, AL. Episode 37 - Matthew and Thomas ~ Two Men Transformed
Send us Fan MailIn the ongoing series, Twelve Were Chosen, we are looking at the apostles. In this episode we review information about Matthew and Thomas. We’ve been emphasizing through these lessons that these ordinary men, with the exception of Judas, allowed our Lord to change their lives. Because of their change, they were able to reach incredible levels of service to our Lord. All of us have characteristics and traits in our life that we do not like. Perhaps these were what drove us to Christ in the first place. Just like Matthew and Thomas, the subjects of this episode, we can find a change and continue to grow into what we should when we turn to our Savior, Jesus. If you are interested in further study, I invite you to order a copy of the book, "Twelve Were Chosen" through Amazon: https://a.co/d/gLOT7w0. Episode 35 - Twelve Were Chosen - Philip and Nathanael
Send us Fan MailIn the ongoing series, Twelve Were Chosen, we are looking at the apostles. In this episode we review information about Philip and Nathanael. As we’ve noted, quite often the best way we bring others to Christ is by our personal relationship with them. We have friends and acquaintances that we can be open with about our faith. We have seen that already in Andrew and Peter. In this episode, we’ll see it again with Philip and Nathanael. We’ve also stated before that as we progress through the list of the Apostles, we begin to see less mentioned about them directly in scripture. And I’ll continue to focus on the scripture references about them as it is available. Remember that whether there is a lot or not very much information, we should not discount their contributions or what we can learn from them.
