I’m so glad you’re here.I’m Karla Cauldwell, a whole-life healing nurse coach specializing in disease prevention and communication. What I am about to share matters, and I know it can change the trajectory of your health if you apply it.Today I want to introduce you to something I created called the Whole Life Healing Assessment Wheel a simple, science-backed tool you can use monthly (or whenever you feel stuck) to take your own vital signs. Not your blood pressure. Your life’s vital signs.The Outer Ring: Your Mindset FoundationThe wheel begins on the outside with mindset. Because without the right internal environment, even the best actions won’t take root. The three mindsets at the core of whole life healing are:🤍Self-LoveLoving and appreciating yourself as you are, the good, the bad, and the ugly.🌿GratitudeFinding ways to be thankful for everything in your life, even the hard parts.🕊️MindfulnessSpending time here, right now not in the past or the future.I would like you to know, I haven’t found a way to embody these three things 100% of the time and I’ve suffered thinking that was the goal. This is not the goal because human nature includes going astray. These three mindsets are the beacon not the standard for perfection. The practice is noticing when your mind wanders, and gently, without drama, bringing it back. That’s it. That is the work.The 8 Areas of Your Life That Most Impact Your Health & Well-beingAccording to research and experience, these are the areas that most contribute to your health, healing, and quality of life. Balance between them is the goal.FinancesPersonal GrowthMovementNutritionRelationshipsManaged StressSpiritualityRest & SleepFor each area, rate yourself 1–8 (8 being thriving, 1 being struggling). Then connect the dots. If you’re in balance, it looks like a circle. If you’re not, it looks all over the place. And that’s completely normal. That lopsided shape is data, not a judgement.PLEASE NOTE: don’t try to fix everything at once. It feels counterintuitive, but focusing on just one area the one most out of balance will naturally lift the others. Movement improves sleep. Sleep improves stress. Stress management improves relationships. Everything is connected. Pick one. Focus your energy on improving and notice the effect it has on the rest of your life. From Idea to Action: Make It SMART(S)Specific- What exactly will you do?(M)Measurable- How will you know it happened?(A)Action-Oriented- Verbs over vague intentions.(R)Realistic- Only you know your life. Honor it.(T)Time-Sensitive- Give it a deadline.Instead of “I want to move more” → try: “I will take a 10-minute walk each day for the next 7 days.”Specific. Measurable. Actionable. Realistic. Time-bound. That’s a goal that moves you from idea to action. The Center: Where the Magic LivesAt the very center of the Whole Life Healing Assessment Wheel is you and what matters most to you. This is your North Star. Your fuel. For me, it’s my family and building legacy. When I’m struggling to feel grateful, I don’t force it. I ask: “How does my family benefit when I’m grateful?” The answer comes quickly. I’m more patient. More present. I focus on solutions instead of problems. I’m a better version of myself for them and for me.Knowing your “why” turns a wellness checklist into a deeply personal mission. That’s the difference between starting a habit and actually keeping it.“Assessing yourself, collecting data from the most important place, is one of the most empowering acts of self-care you can practice.”I recommend doing this assessment once a month ideally before the first of the month. I also love doing it on my birthday and at the new year as a fuller reflection. If you’re ever feeling off and you can’t figure out why, use the wheel. It is truth-telling in the most gentle, compassionate way. It shows you what’s happening and hands you the tools to do something about it.This isn’t just a wellness exercise. For those working through illness, this process supports healing. For those who are well, it supports prevention.
