Wisdom Without The Guru
by Regina Sayer
Behind every pivot, loss, career shift, trauma or reinvention is a story. Wisdom Without the Guru grew from my belief that growth is something we live, not something we’re taught from a pedestal. Through grounded, real-world conversations, I explore how people rebuild, adapt, and rediscover purpose after trauma, change and conflict — in work, health, relationships, and identity. My guests are coaches, authors, healers, social workers, therapists and everyday people who’ve turned lived experience into practical insight. Together, we look at what awareness, authenticity, and being human really mean when life gets complex.

Grief Beyond the Funeral: A New Path with Megan Malick
In this special episode, I welcome back Megan Malick to discuss her book A New Path — a workbook and planner created to support people navigating grief while also managing the practical realities that follow the death of a loved one. After losing both of her parents within three months of each other, Megan found herself overwhelmed not only by grief, but by the paperwork, legal processes, financial accounts, and responsibilities involved in settling an estate. That experience led her to create a resource combining emotional support, grief education, practical tools, planning systems, and reflective exercises. The conversation explores: the emotional strain of being both a grieving family member and executor how grief affects memory, concentration, and daily functioning practical ways friends and family can genuinely help the hidden mental load that comes with paperwork after loss spiritual rituals and grounding practices during grief why preparing information in advance can ease the burden for loved ones While some of the logistical examples are US-based, many of the emotional and practical aspects discussed apply universally. This is a conversation about grief beyond the funeral — and the responsibilities many people are left carrying afterwards.About: Megan Malick is a therapist turned grief and logistics coach, author, and speaker. She is the founder of A New Path, where she supports grieving hearts and soul-o-preneurs through the sacred terrain of life, loss, and legacy. Grief, Trauma & Evolving Faith | Megan Malick
What do we actually mean when we talk about grief—and what happens when the beliefs that once grounded us begin to shift?Megan Malick shares experiences from across her life that connect to different forms of grief—some recognised at the time, others only understood later. From early disruption and loss of stability, to navigating bullying and coping responses in childhood, through to uncovering trauma in adulthood, changes in relationships, and the physical and emotional impact of infertility, her story moves through multiple moments where something changed, ended, or no longer felt the same.Alongside this, her relationship with faith evolves. What begins as a structured, inherited understanding is questioned, challenged, and gradually reshaped through personal experience, spirituality, and practice. The conversation explores:different forms of grief, including those that are not always namedhow experiences can live in the body before they are understoodshifts in identity within relationships and changing roleswhat happens when faith no longer feels stable or certainlosing both parents within a short period of timeThis episode reflects both the many forms grief can take, and how a person’s relationship with faith can shift, expand, or be redefined through lived experience.About: Megan Malick is a therapist turned grief and logistics coach, author, and speaker. Exploring The Call of the Sacred Rebel | Debi Barr
In this episode, Debi Barr joins me to discuss her book The Call of the Sacred Rebel and the path that led her to write it.We talk about how the book evolved over time—from early ideas during her corporate career to a later shift toward questioning expectations and choosing a different way of living. We begin with her earlier work on Reiki, where she shares her perspective that it’s not something you simply do, but something you live. That distinction carries through into this book and the way she approaches both her work and her writing. In this conversation, we explore: how easily people can find themselves adapting to expectations without realising it the role of internal beliefs and emotional patterns in shaping external experiences the balance between intuition and taking action in everyday life what it can look like to step forward when being visible doesn’t feel straightforward Debi also reads selected passages from the book, including reflections on energy, personal memory, and the balance between intuition and action—what she describes as the “mystic” and the “magician.”We also touch on the writing process itself, including revisiting personal experiences and how that shaped the final book. This conversation explores themes of self-expression, personal choice, energy, and how internal beliefs can influence the way we experience and shape our lives.About: Debi Barr is a soul guide, mentor, and bestselling author of The Call of the Sacred Rebel. From Redundancy to Reiki: Finding Her Way Back | Debi Barr
Debi Barr describes herself as “feral at 50” — but that phrase only makes sense when you understand the path that led her there.Raised in Northern Ireland in a strict religious environment, Debi learned early how to be the “good girl”: quiet, compliant, and careful not to disrupt the fragile emotional balance around her. Beneath that, she was already experiencing the world differently — sensing energy, questioning beliefs, and noticing things she couldn’t explain. As she grew older, that part of her life was gradually set aside. She built what looked like a stable, successful life: career, marriage, children, and financial responsibility. But underneath, the pressure was building — emotionally, physically, and mentally.A sudden job loss became the turning point. What initially felt like instability revealed something deeper: she had lost her connection to herself. This conversation follows Debi’s path through grief, depression, medication, financial stress, and eventual reconnection with her intuition. It explores how she rebuilt her life, redefined work, and developed a spiritual practice that now forms the basis of her business. This is not a story about a linear transformation. It’s a gradual return — shaped by difficult decisions, trial and error, and the process of learning to trust herself again.Key TakeawaysYou can build a life that works on the outside while feeling disconnected internally.Early environments often shape how much of yourself you allow to be visible.Major disruptions (loss, redundancy, illness) can expose misalignment rather than create it.Coping mechanisms (work, medication, alcohol) can mask deeper issues but don’t resolve them.Rebuilding isn’t immediate — it often involves trial, error, and gradual change.Returning to creativity or intuition is often less about learning something new and more about remembering.Financial pressure and identity are closely linked — especially when work defines self-worth.Spiritual practices can become practical tools when grounded in real-life experience.Support doesn’t always come from structured systems — sometimes it’s built over time through personal networks.Change can look disruptive from the outside but necessary from the inside.About: Debi Barr is a soul guide, mentor, and bestselling author of The Call of the Sacred Rebel. Faith, Identity & Spiritual Path: Dr. Chris Nirvelorron
In this compelling interview, Dr. Chris Nirvelorron shares their extraordinary journey from a strict Southern Baptist upbringing, academic struggles, and military service to discovering their spiritual calling and healing abilities. We explore themes of faith, resilience, healing, and overcoming adversity as Chris reveals how they navigated complex personal and professional challenges, reflecting on early questions around belief, the role of community, and the realities of military life, including the mental and emotional impact that followed. The conversation also touches on identity, family, and the experience of building a life outside of expected structures.Over time, earlier experiences began to reconnect, leading Chris toward a more expansive approach to spirituality — one that draws from different traditions rather than staying within a single framework. This conversation explores what it means to question, step away, and return in a different way — and how a personal path can take shape across many stages of life.Key TakeawaysEarly belief systems can shape identity, but questioning them can open new directions.Community can exist independently of belief — and often has lasting impact.Learning differences can lead to alternative ways of processing and understanding the world.Military experience can create long-term mental and emotional pressure, even beyond active service.Suppressing identity (beliefs, sexuality, or experiences) can lead to fragmentation and internal strain.Personal crisis can act as a turning point rather than an endpoint.Spirituality does not need to follow a single structure — it can evolve over time.Exposure to multiple perspectives can shift rigid thinking into curiosity.Healing practices can emerge from earlier life experiences, even if not understood at the time.A sense of purpose can come from connecting differences rather than choosing one side.Dr. Chris Nirvelorron is a Doctor of Divinity from the New Seminary, an ordained senior associate Interfaith minister, certified spiritual coach, and certified Divine Light energy healer from the mystic esoteric schoolhouse of Spiritual Arts Institute. Dr. Chris is gender fluid and goes by no pronouns. Being of service means mentoring, guiding, and leading souls across the USA in their life goals, spiritual pathways, and physical ailment needs. Chakras, Intuition & Psychic Senses Explained with Tammie Vecchiarelli
A follow-up conversation with Tammie Vecchiarelli on her two guidebooks exploring chakras and psychic senses.Tammie shares how the books were created, what they cover, and how they are designed to help people understand energy, intuition, and self-awareness through simple explanations and guided exercises. The episode also includes reflections on personal experiences, questioning perception, and learning to interpret internal signals in a grounded way.Key TakeawaysUnderstanding concepts like chakras or intuition often starts with simple definitions before personal interpretation develops. Experiences of awareness (physical sensations, thoughts, emotions) can be interpreted in different ways depending on the individual. Not all people experience intuition or perception in the same way — there is no single “correct” form. Having structured resources can help reduce confusion when exploring unfamiliar concepts. Self-reflection (journaling, observation, questioning) is a key part of understanding personal experience. External guidance can support the process, but individual interpretation and responsibility remain central. Comparing experiences with others can create unnecessary doubt or hierarchy. Awareness often develops gradually through repeated recognition rather than one clear moment. Tools are most useful when they allow space for personal interpretation, not rigid instruction.About: Tammie Vecchiarellii supports women in building a balanced spiritual practice that helps them understand their intuitive gifts, connect with their guides, and heal past relationship wounds. She's passionate about supporting women to break free from societal and familial expectations that confine them, empowering them to become unblocked and live fully aligned lives. Childhood Loss, Career Change, and Teaching Abroad with Tammie Vecchiarelli
Tammie Vecchiarelli shares her experience of growing up through loss, family change, and career shifts, and how those experiences shaped her later decisions. She talks about losing her grandmother at a young age, followed by her parents’ divorce and the transition into blended families. She reflects on taking on a protective role within her family and navigating those changes without much emotional support at the time. After completing a degree in interior design, she worked in several roles before deciding to change direction. She moved into early childhood education, completed a master’s degree, and later took opportunities to teach abroad, including in Sweden and Poland.Alongside her professional path, she began exploring meditation, essential oils, and energy-based practices, which developed through personal experience and experimentation. This episode touches on topics including grief, family dynamics, career change, teaching abroad, spirituality and personal exploration over time.Key TakeawaysEarly stability can come from extended family, not just parents Multiple major life changes in a short period can affect emotional development Children may take on protective roles without realizing the long-term impact Lack of emotional support or language can shape how experiences are processed Career paths can shift after repeated misalignment, even after formal training Therapy and medication can affect people differently and may not feel like the right fit for everyone Exploring new environments (like living abroad) can create both challenge and growth Interest in spirituality or alternative practices can begin informally and evolve over time Personal experiences often guide what tools or practices resonate There is no single structured path when it comes to self-exploration or personal developmentAbout: Tammie Vecchiarellii supports women in building a balanced spiritual practice that helps them understand their intuitive gifts, connect with their guides, and heal past relationship wounds. Chronic Bloating and Gut Issues: What Actually Helps with Karlee Close
Certified Gut Health Coach Karlee Close shares how her ongoing gut issues developed despite following common health advice — and why years of restrictive diets, supplements, and testing didn’t resolve the problem. After growing up with convenience-based eating habits, Karlee carried similar patterns into university life, alongside stress, lack of sleep, and frequent illness. Over time, this progressed into daily bloating, pain, and recurring digestive symptoms that began to impact her work and daily routine. What followed was a long period of trying to identify the cause through elimination diets, food sensitivity testing, SIBO protocols, candida cleanses, and multiple practitioners. While some approaches reduced symptoms temporarily, the issues continued, and her relationship with food became increasingly restricted. This episode looks at the reality of trying to “figure out” ongoing health issues — and what can shift when the approach changes. It’s a straightforward account of what she went through and how her approach changed and helped her heal.Key TakewaysGut issues can develop over time despite appearing healthyRestrictive diets may reduce symptoms but not resolve underlying issuesFood sensitivities can change rather than remain fixedFocusing only on food can lead to unnecessary restrictionLong-term elimination can impact both health and eating behaviourStress can contribute alongside dietRepeated testing and protocols don’t always lead to answersSimplifying approach and reintroducing foods can shift outcomesKarlee Close is a Certified Gut Health Coach and founder of Beyond Bloated, where she helps women break free from chronic bloating without restrictive diets. Learning to Feel Safe and Trust Your Body with Cori Myka
What if fear isn’t something to push through—but something to understand?Cori Myka shares how her early experiences with mistrust, fear, and childhood trauma shaped not only her relationship with water but also her understanding of how the body holds and responds to experience.Despite initially resisting traditional swim instruction, Cori taught herself how to swim—and later built a swim school based on a completely different approach: one that prioritises nervous system regulation, trust, and individual pacing over performance. The conversation moves beyond swimming. It explores how fear is experienced in the body, how internal narratives form early, and how those patterns can quietly shape behaviour, relationships, and choices.Cori also shares how working with people living with HIV/AIDS after leaving university shifted her perspective on identity, compassion, and seeing beyond surface-level assumptions. At the core of this conversation is a simple but often overlooked idea: Real change doesn’t happen by forcing the body forward—it happens by learning how to feel safe enough to move at all.Key TakeawaysFear is often rooted in early experiences, not present realityThe body can react even when the mind understands something is safeTrust is built through experience, not instruction Internal narratives shape behaviour more than external ability Learning requires psychological safety, not pressure Disassociation can become a long-term coping pattern Performance does not equal comfort or confidence Slowing down can be more effective than pushing through The nervous system plays a central role in learning and change Exposure without safety can reinforce fear rather than resolve it Compassion—for others and self—can shift perception and behaviour Healing often happens gradually, not through a single breakthroughAbout: Cori Myka is the founder of Calm Within Adult Swim, with over 25 years of experience in adult swim education. From Shame and Self-Destruction to Faith with Samantha Stewartz
Samantha Stewartz’s story doesn’t follow a simple arc of struggle and recovery. It unfolds through years of internal conflict, self-destructive patterns, and moments that forced her to question everything she believed about herself.Growing up in what appeared to be a stable household, Samantha nevertheless felt like an outsider in her own family. Early experiences with bullying and being labelled “the fat kid” shaped how she saw herself for years. By adolescence, those feelings deepened into loneliness, emotional eating, and thoughts of suicide following the death of the one person she felt truly understood by — her grandfather. In college, alcohol became a way to escape the pain she didn’t know how to process. Waking up in a bush after a night of drinking forced her to confront the trajectory she was on and led her toward building a career in fitness.Yet success on the outside didn’t resolve what was happening internally. Patterns of binge behaviour, unhealthy relationships, and emotional turmoil continued to surface. Samantha shares openly about divorce, emotional abuse, and the moment she nearly ended her life before an experience she describes as hearing her niece’s voice calling her back to life.A long process of therapy, personal development, and eventually a deep spiritual transformation reshaped how she understands healing, identity, and purpose. In this conversation, Samantha reflects on the patterns that shaped her life, the tools she used to understand herself, and the practices — including video journaling — that helped her process experiences and rebuild a sense of connection.Key TakeawaysEarly feelings of not belonging can shape identity and self-worth for years.Coping patterns such as binge eating, drinking, overworking, or excessive exercise can develop as ways to avoid emotional pain.Outward success doesn’t always reflect what someone is experiencing internally.Moments of crisis can become turning points that force deeper self-reflection.Therapy and personal development can help uncover long-standing behavioral patterns.Tools like video journaling can provide a practical way to observe thoughts, behaviors, and communication patterns more objectively.About: Samantha Stewartz is a Wholistic Fitness Coach helping business women condition all parts of themselves so they're more effective in their work and live happier lives. Growing Up With Family Conflict with Tenya Eickenberg
What happens when the environment you grow up in leaves emotional patterns that follow you well into adulthood?Tenya Eickenberg shares the story of growing up in a military family where frequent moves, family conflict, and a mother struggling with mental illness shaped her early life.Tenya describes childhood experiences that included relocating across countries, separation from siblings, and living in a household marked by tension and unpredictability. As she entered adolescence, those early experiences showed up in ways she didn’t fully understand at the time — people-pleasing, hiding parts of herself, and searching for stability in relationships. After becoming a young mother, Tenya focused on raising her children and creating a different environment for her family. But years later, once her children left home, unresolved emotions resurfaced as anxiety and depression. That turning point eventually led her to therapy, a diagnosis of complex PTSD, and an exploration of holistic emotional healing practices.Key TakeawaysHow frequent moves during childhood can shape a person’s ability to adapt while also affecting their sense of stability and belonging. How growing up in a household affected by mental illness and conflict can influence the roles children take on within a family. How early family experiences can lead people to develop coping behaviours such as accommodating others or keeping parts of themselves hidden. Why people sometimes try to create a different environment for their own children than the one they experienced growing up.How unresolved experiences from earlier life can surface years later as anxiety or depression, particularly during major life transitions. How seeking professional support can help identify underlying patterns and open the door to different approaches to emotional healing.About: Tenya Eickenberg is an energy healer, certified self-care coach, and host of The Metamorphosis Project Podcast. Childhood Trauma, Healing, and Intuition with Natasha Randolph
Natasha Randolph shares her experience of growing up with instability, neglect, and abuse, alongside the early emergence in childhood of an intuitive and sensory awareness she didn’t yet have language for.Much of Natasha’s childhood was spent without consistent adult supervision. She describes being passed between caretakers, navigating bullying, food insecurity, and abuse, and learning early how to stay quiet, adapt, and rely on herself and her sister. At school, this showed up as a stutter, difficulties with reading, and periods of withdrawal that were often misunderstood.During the same years, Natasha began experiencing vivid dreams, sensing energy, and seeing spirits. With no guidance or framework, she searched for explanations on her own, experimenting with protection, ritual, and grounding — sometimes helpfully, sometimes not. Later, she walked away from a promising nursing career after recognising how deeply she absorbed others’ pain. Inside The Way Through Chronic Pain: A Conversation with Author Elizabeth Kipp
Elizabeth Kipp returns for a focused conversation on her book The Way Through Chronic Pain: Tools to Reclaim Your Healing Power. In this special episode, Elizabeth explains why she chose to write the book after being told she would never heal from chronic pain—and how the writing process itself became part of her ongoing recovery. Rather than focusing on memoir, the book explores the lived inner experience of chronic pain, the neurological stress patterns that sustain it, and the practical tools she used to interrupt those patterns. Elizabeth also discusses what she has learned since the book’s publication through years of client work. This episode is for people living with chronic pain, those supporting them, and practitioners who want a clearer understanding of what chronic pain sufferers are actually navigating internally.Key TakeawaysChronic pain is often maintained by long-term nervous system stress patterns Avoidance, numbing, and resistance can reinforce pain rather than resolve it Meditation and breathwork can support neurological recalibration Safety perception plays a central role in pain reactivity Daily practice matters more than occasional intervention Healing involves identity shifts, not just symptom relief Ancestral and inherited stress patterns may contribute to chronic pain Recovery is an ongoing relationship, not a one-time fixAbout: Elizabeth Kipp is a Stress Management, Historical Trauma Specialist, and Addiction Recovery and Betrayal Trauma Coach. Rethinking Chronic Pain: Stress, Trauma & Nervous System Recovery with Elizabeth Kipp
What if chronic pain isn’t only physical? In this episode, Elizabeth Kipp shares how she lived with chronic pain, anxiety, and panic attacks for over 40 years — including 32 years on prescription medication and multiple spinal surgeries — before finding a path to recovery. But this episode is not just about back pain.Elizabeth reframes chronic pain as a nervous system condition — one shaped by trauma, hypervigilance, stress response dysregulation, ancestral imprinting, and long-standing patterns in the brain.Born into early trauma, raised in instability, and living through Cold War fear and family dysfunction, Elizabeth explains how chronic stress became wired into her system long before her physical injury. We explore: • Why chronic pain is often a stress-response condition • The limits of a purely physical medical model • Detoxing after decades on opiates and anti-anxiety medication • Meditation, breathwork, Qigong, EFT tapping, and ancestral clearing • The moment she realised she had a role in her healingThis conversation bridges science, trauma recovery, nervous system regulation, and spiritual experience — without bypassing the realities of medical intervention. If you’ve ever been told to “just live with it,” this episode offers a broader perspective on what healing might mean.Key TakeawaysChronic pain is not only physical; it is often a nervous system condition shaped by stress and traumaThe brain processes emotional, physical, and psychological pain through similar pathwaysHypervigilance in childhood can become chronic stress in adulthood.Medication can mask pain while reinforcing the stress response underneath itYou cannot think your way out of chronic pain; you must regulate your nervous systemMeditation becomes powerful when the stress chemistry is addressedAncestral patterns may influence stress physiologyPain is information — and can become a catalyst for transformationHealing requires participation, not passive treatmentDaily nervous system practices sustain recoveryAbout: Elizabeth Kipp is a Stress Management, Historical Trauma Specialist, and Addiction Recovery and Betrayal Trauma Coach. Childhood Trauma, Policing, and PTSD: Breaking the Silence as a First Responder with Laverne Friesen
What happens when the environment that raises you is also the source of harm?In this episode I speak with Laverne Friesen, a former Canadian law enforcement officer who grew up in an ultra-conservative, closed religious community in rural Alberta. From early childhood, Laverne experienced violence, scapegoating, fear-based control, and profound betrayal — including sexual assault that was never properly addressed because the church insisted on “handling it internally.”Laverne eventually left the community as a teenager and built a career in policing and emergency response. But the nervous system that grows up in chaos doesn’t simply reset. Over time, the hypervigilance, emotional suppression, workplace toxicity, and untreated trauma began to surface — culminating in severe anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and the realisation that the culture around him had no language for honest support. This is also a conversation about what actually helps: the difference a trauma-informed therapist can make, the power of hearing “you are not alone,” and the importance of holding space — not fixing, not performing, simply being present.Key TakeawaysTrauma is not only what happens, but what happens when no one protects you afterward. Closed systems thrive on silence, fear, and social control. The nervous system adapts to chaos and later mistakes it for normal. First responder culture often rewards toughness, not honesty. Emotional suppression doesn’t remove pain — it delays it. Burnout is often the final stage of long-term unacknowledged stress. Healing often begins with safety, connection, and being truly seen. Support doesn’t require perfect words — it requires presence. Recovery includes boundaries, change, and redefining what peace looks like. Speaking openly becomes part of breaking the cycle for others.About: Laverne Friesen is a former law enforcement officer in Canada with a background marked by personal adversity and professional intensity. In this episode I speak with Maria Belanic, a certified grief educator whose life has been shaped by cultural identity, caregiving, and profound loss.Maria shares what it was like growing up as a first-generation Italian immigrant in Canada, raised in a traditional household with strict gender expectations, silence around emotion, and the constant pressure to be “good” and “strong.” Years later, those early experiences would echo through the most difficult chapter of her life: supporting her son Stefan through an 11-year battle with a rare incurable blood cancer, and eventually facing his death at age 27. Maria speaks candidly about the isolation of long-term caregiving, the way grief changes families, why she protected her son’s hope until the very end, and what it means to stop treating grief as something to “get over.”Today, Maria works as a peer-to-peer grief educator, helping others feel witnessed rather than fixed — and offering a different way to hold love and loss together. This episode is for anyone who has supported someone through illness, felt unseen in their grief, or wondered why “moving on” never felt like the right language.Key TakeawaysGrief isn’t something we “get over” — it’s something we learn to carry alongside love.Caregiving can be deeply isolating, especially when emotional support is absent.Language matters: how we name illness and loss shapes how we survive it.Sibling grief is often overlooked, creating silent pain in families. Many grievers don’t need advice — they need to be witnessed.Old childhood wounds often resurface through grief, bringing insecurity and self-blame.About: Maria Belanic is a bereaved mom and certified grief educator. When her son died, Maria's world shattered. On the outside, she looked fine, inside, she felt lost. Now Maria guides others living with loss, whether recent or years ago feel acknowledged, heard and seen. Faith, Trauma & Mental Health: Breaking Silence and Redefining Healing with Mylira Green
In this episode, I speak with Mylira Green, a licensed clinical social worker, therapist, Reiki master, and advocate who bridges faith-based traditions with trauma-informed healing. This is a layered interview about faith, trauma, and healing beyond rigid frameworks.Raised in a deeply religious household, Mylira shares how early childhood experiences—many of them unspoken, misunderstood, or silenced—shaped her relationship with love, safety, faith, and her own body. She reflects on growing up with strict religious values, navigating sexual development without language or guidance, and carrying long-held secrets that affected her mental health well into adolescence. The conversation explores taboo topics rarely addressed openly: childhood sexual play, purity culture, body shame, cultural silence around sex and trauma, and the long-term consequences of not naming experiences when they occur. Mylira also shares her experiences with physical disability in childhood, disordered eating, depression, sexual assault, and multiple pregnancy losses—each layer adding complexity to her healing journey. We explore the long-term impact of secrecy, the stigma surrounding therapy in faith-based and cultural communities, and why healing often begins when we stop forcing lived experience to fit neatly into inherited beliefs. This episode invites honest reflection on breaking generational patterns and redefining what healing can look like.Key TakeawaysSilence around childhood development can create long-term confusion and shame.Trauma often reflects environmental failure—not personal fault.Purity culture without education leaves young people unprepared and vulnerable.Therapy is not only for crisis; it is ongoing mental health maintenance.Cultural and religious stigma can delay healing—but doesn’t prevent it.Faith and energy-based healing do not have to exist in opposition.Naming experiences is often the first step toward breaking generational cycles.Motherhood, grief, and identity are deeply intertwined and rarely discussed honestly.About - Mylira Green is a psychotherapist, writer, coach, and master healer dedicated to guiding others through transformation. Pain to Purpose: The Healing Oracle Born from Poetry and Intuition with Antoinette Thompson
In this special mini-episode, I'm joined again by Antoinette Thompson to explore the creation of her Pain to Purpose Healing Oracle.Born from lived experience rather than theory, the deck emerged through poetry, intuitive artwork, and years of personal healing. Antoinette shares how 14 poems—written over 18 months—became the foundation for 55 oracle cards, each reflecting a specific aspect of pain, healing, belief, shadow, and insight.Rather than offering quick affirmations, this deck invites deep self-reflection. Antoinette explains how the cards are designed to speak directly to the subconscious, encouraging users to engage with both shadow and light, without rigid spreads or prescribed meanings. This conversation covers the creative process behind the deck, the role of intuition and embodiment in healing, and why some tools ask more of us than comfort—and why that matters.And... there is a special offer from Antoinette for all listeners: if you wish to order this beautiful Pain to Purpose Healing Oracle deck, you can receive a $10 discount, as well as a personal one-card reading via email with your order. Childhood Trauma, Chronic Illness & the Long Work of Healing with Antoinette Thompson
Childhood trauma and chronic illness can shape a life in ways that are rarely visible. In this episode, Antoinette Thompson shares how early sexual abuse, years of silence, and a diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis led her into survival mode — and eventually toward a slow, honest process of healing.Antoinette reflects on growing up in a strict Catholic Maltese household in Australia, excelling in a corporate finance career before a workplace injury and chronic pain changed everything. Alongside physical illness, she carried unspoken trauma, family expectations, and the pressure to keep appearances intact. After the deaths of both her parents, a profound inner shift began. What followed was not an escape from pain, but a gradual reclaiming of truth, self-trust, and inner authority through meditation, metaphysical study, and deep emotional healing.Key TakeawaysChildhood trauma and the long-term cost of silenceChronic illness and identity lossLiving in survival mode and victim consciousnessThe emotional impact of incurable conditionsHealing without spiritual bypassReclaiming inner authority after lossTurning lived adversity into grounded wisdomA grounded, deeply human conversation about what healing can actually look like when life doesn’t reset — but slowly re-forms.About Antoinette Thompson: Growing up in Australia and with a Maltese, Catholic upbringing, Antoinette experienced trauma in her early life and decades of chronic illness. Growing Up in Ukraine, Fleeing War, and Starting Again in America with Kateryna Bikir
In this episode, Ukrainian psychologist Kateryna Bikir shares the moments that shaped her before and after the 2022 Russian invasion — growing up with limited resources, the generations of trauma from war and conflicts, the realities she confronted as a young mother, and the choices she faced when safety could no longer be taken for granted. We explore how she and her family faced sudden displacement after years of asking the question of "what if?" became reality, what it meant to restart life in unfamiliar countries, and how her work in mental health evolved through each stage. This conversation weaves together identity, motherhood, migration, professional reinvention, and the quieter emotional layers behind beginning again — without sensationalising the circumstances that forced the change. Key TakeawaysChildren normalise hardship when they have nothing to compare it to. Kateryna recalls accepting scarcity as “just life” until she saw other ways of living. Generational trauma shaped every branch of her family tree, from starvation to war to economic instability.Education was a turning point, giving her access to worlds and opportunities her family didn’t have.A health scare shifted her toward psychology, prompting her to rethink how she wanted to spend her life.Motherhood revealed the gaps in Ukraine’s medical and social systems, influencing her desire to support others. The 2022 invasion required immediate decisions, including whether her children would be safe or have access to medication.Migration is not linear—the Czech Republic was a temporary refuge, not a long-term landing place.Professional identity is often lost during immigration, especially when degrees are not recognised.Rebuilding life requires routine, community, and structure, particularly for children. Her current work focuses on bridging cultures, supporting refugees, and helping individuals find stability in new environments.About: Kateryna Bikir is a Ukrainian psychologist, entrepreneur and educator who advocates for refugees’ mental health and equitable access to resources. From Faith to Freedom – Leaving Evangelicalism & Reclaiming Self-Trust with Stephanie Ann Webb
Stephanie Ann Webb grew up in conservative evangelical culture, surrounded by fear, control, and purity teachings that silenced curiosity. In this candid episode, I speak with Stephanie about the lifelong effects of religious trauma, binge eating, anxiety, and being a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). Through therapy, critical thinking, and mindful deconstruction, Stephanie began healing from fear-based faith and rebuilding self-trust. Together we explore how trauma lives in the body, why leaving the church can feel like both grief and freedom, and how spirituality can evolve into grounded self-connection, compassion, and peace.Key TakeawaysLeaving belief systems can feel like grief, not rebellion. You’re mourning identity as much as doctrine.Therapy and critical thinking are spiritual tools. Understanding your nervous system is part of healing.Sensitivity is strength. Awareness of energy, emotion, and environment can deepen empathy instead of overwhelm.Boundaries are not betrayal. Saying “no” to control is saying “yes” to self-trust.Deconstruction isn’t destruction. It’s the rebuilding of integrity after years of suppression.Healing includes humour. Evolution Into Inner Stillness: Migration, Career, Motherhood, Divorce & Loss with Carolina Gonzalez
Carolina Gonzalez’s journey crosses continents. In this conversation, we examine themes of inner strength, grief, motherhood, and personal growth. Carolina recounts her journey from a nurturing childhood in Venezuela to facing life's challenges in Australia, including the effects of cultural change, the complexities of motherhood, and the experiences of divorce, loss, and job burnout. The discussion emphasises the importance of mindfulness, self-discovery, and the courage to embrace change, ultimately underscoring the resilience of the human spirit in overcoming adversity.Key TakeawaysChildhood responsibility can translate into lifelong overachievement until we consciously release it.Safety shapes identity. Moving from instability to calm can reveal how chronic vigilance has conditioned our nervous system.Quality of life matters more than duration. Her mother’s story invites reflection on autonomy, compassion, and letting loved ones choose their path.Forgiveness frees the forgiver. Journalling Through Breast Cancer: The Story Behind Diary of a Soul Reborn with Veronika Bubenickova
In this special Breast Cancer Awareness Month episode, I reconnect with returning guest Veronika Bubenickova, whose new book Diary of a Soul Reborn grew out of private journals kept during her treatment. Listeners first met Veronika in the episode "How Revolution, Migration, CareerLoss & Illness Redefined Who I Am," when she spoke about growing up in the Czech Republic and rebuilding life in the UK. This conversation continues her story of facing breast cancer and journalling her way through it. She wrote to manage fear, track her reactions to treatment, and find a space where she could honestly express how she felt. Later, she hoped her words might support other women on their own journeys, describing how those journals became the foundation of Diary of a Soul Reborn, how her mother’s daily notes offered another perspective, and how revisiting the material again brought both tears and relief. Through this discussion, we explore what happens when writing shifts from self-care to sharing one’s story, and how creative expression can provide meaning for others without pretending that pain vanishes. Key TakeawaysWriting can become a quiet space to face fear without performance or pressure.Self-expression made in private can later serve others — without being planned that way.Re-reading one’s own story is part of healing; it reveals growth that wasn’t visible while living it.Loved ones experience the illness differently; combining perspectives deepens understanding.Emotional honesty helps dissolve cultural silence around illness.Healing work can happen after the treatment ends — when there is finally time to feel.Faith and intuition are personal languages of resilience that don’t require perfection.Storytelling connects people who might never meet but share the same fear.Sometimes the work that helps us survive becomes the work that helps others — not by plan, but by reflection afterwards.About: Veronika Bubenickova is a Transformational Breast Cancer Coach and Therapist, survivor, advocate for holistic breast cancer prevention and author of Diary of a Soul Reborn. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023, she turned inward and upward, choosing to heal through an integrative path that included plant-based living, energy healing, emotional trauma work, and vision-led spiritual growth. Her diagnosis became a catalyst for radical transformation, awakening a new life purpose: to help others navigate the breast cancer journey with courage, clarity, and compassion. Beyond “I’m Sorry for Your Loss”: What Helps and What Hurts in Grief with Chris Mamone
Grief coach Chris Mamone returns to Wisdom Without the Guru to talk about what genuine support looks like when someone is grieving. Drawing from his own experience after the loss of his son, and from conversations on his Empowered Grief Journey podcast, Chris tells us about how the wrong words can deepen pain, and how simple presence can heal. This conversation spans a wide field: the difference between empathy and comparison, why men’s grief is often overlooked, the isolation that siblings feel when their loss is minimised, and how pet loss reveals unconditional love. Chris also shares ways for grievers to set boundaries — how to say “that hurt me” or “I need space” — without guilt. It’s a grounded discussion about language, emotion, and compassion. For anyone navigating grief, or trying to support someone who is, this episode offers clear guidance on how to be human together when life falls apart.Key TakeawaysGrief is not a problem to solve. People want to feel seen and heard, not fixed.Presence often means more than words; silence is sometimes the greatest comfort.Avoid comparison. Saying “I know how you feel” shifts attention away from the griever.Men’s and siblings’ grief are frequently overlooked — both need space to be acknowledged.Pet loss can trigger deep grief because of its unconditional bond; don’t minimise it.Grievers can set boundaries and name what hurts without guilt.Supporters should avoid phrases like “time heals,” “move on,” or “you’ll have another one.”Real empathy is asking “What do you need today?” and listening to the answer.About: Chris Mamone is an Acceptance Coach and the Founder of The Empowered Grief Journey Coaching Practice and Podcast. How Revolution, Migration, Career Loss & Illness Redefined Who I Am with Veronika Bubenickova
What happens when every familiar structure in life—country, language, health, even career—shifts at once? In this conversation, Czech-born guest Veronika Bubenickova traces a life shaped by transition. From growing up during political upheaval to rebuilding from scratch in the UK, to facing a sudden breast cancer diagnosis at the height of professional success, her story unfolds as a continuous study in adaptation and self-understanding.Veronika reflects on:Childhood memories of a revolution and the quiet fears that children absorb when adults can’t speak openly.Emotional patterns inherited from families that had to stay silent for generations. How 9/11 triggered an early spiritual awakening and a search for meaning.Leaving a secure banking career after a financial crisis, moving abroad, and beginning again.Learning English, rebuilding her identity, and later finding a spiritual community. The diagnosis that changed everything, and the deliberate choice to combine medical treatment with mental focus, spiritual practice, and self-directed healing. The role of imagination, visualisation, and the Silva Method in staying centred through chemotherapy and surgery.Losing work during treatment, redefining what “purpose” means, and transforming the experience into a calling to help other women. This episode is not only about survival but about agency—the slow rebuilding of one’s own authority after systems, borders, and the body itself have all been shaken.Key TakeawaysThe unspoken fears of childhood can shape how we respond to later crises—until we name them.Medicine treats the body, but mindset and community support the terrain in which recovery happens.Identity can be rebuilt. Preparation hides inside experience. Support requires clarity - knowing how to ask for help.Purpose often begins in the aftermath. Manifestation Without the Myth: How the Law of Attraction Really Works with Psychic Medium Tracy Fance
Host Regina Sayer and psychic medium Tracy Fance unpack the Law of Attraction without the fluff. They explore why “think happy thoughts” isn’t enough, how unconscious self-talk cancels your requests, where karma and soul contracts fit in, and how to pair intention with action. You’ll hear real stories—from prayer circles and Dr. Emoto’s water experiment to manifesting good weather and even defusing bill anxiety—with a toolkit you can start using today. What you’ll learnWhat the Law of Attraction really is (energy, intention, resonance—not wishful thinking)Why language and tense matter (“I am / I have” vs “I will”)How unconscious loops sabotage conscious goalsPractical daily practices: gratitude, belief-building, vision boards that work, letting goWhere karma/soul contracts may limit (or unlock) outcomesThe difference between manifesting and toxic positivityWhy you must meet the universe halfway (aligned action)The power—and risk—of collective thought (and online energy)Key takeawaysThe Law of Attraction = energetic resonance; you’re using it whether you realise it or not.Language matters: use present/past tense (“I am / I have”), not future (“I will”).Unconscious rumination cancels conscious requests; clean up the background loop.Gratitude is the fastest daily way to lift your baseline; feel it, don’t just list it.Avoid toxic positivity; acknowledge reality while choosing a constructive focus.Break affirmations into believable steps; stack wins to expand belief.Vision boards need novelty (move items) so your brain keeps noticing them.Ask → trust → detach; constantly re-asking slows delivery.Meet the universe halfway with consistent, aligned action.Karma & soul contracts can gate outcomes until lessons are integrated.Collective energy amplifies results—for better or worse. If your goal involves others, align the group’s energy and intentions.About: Tracy Fance is a psychic, medium & tarot reader, but that only scratches the surface of what she does. In this episode, I welcome back psychic medium and tarot reader Tracy Fance for an in-depth exploration of the world of tarot. Tracy shares her personal journey with the cards, from struggling with decks that didn’t resonate to discovering the Rider-Waite system that truly spoke to her.We look at common misconceptions about tarot, how to choose a deck that aligns with your energy, ways to connect with your cards, and how spirit guides work alongside readings. This conversation aims to give you both practical advice and spiritual insight into making tarot a powerful intuitive tool.Key TakeawaysTarot isn’t dark or evil — it’s a tool for intuition. The right deck is the one that resonates with you personally.Oracle cards can be a gentler or simpler alternative to tarot.Rituals help, but intention and practice matter most.Start small: try three-card spreads or journaling your impressions.Ask open-ended questions; avoid yes/no queries.Tarot can help build trust in your intuition.Ethics matter — avoid giving harmful or overly fatalistic messages.Above all: have fun with tarot!Previous episodes with Tracy: Understanding & Working with Spirit Guides From Real Estate to Readings - The Unexpected Path to Becoming a Psychic MediumAbout: Tracy Fance is a psychic, medium & tarot reader, but that only scratches the surface of what she does. Chaos, Control & the Call to Surrender: Choosing Peace with Angela Fernandez
In this episode, I'm joined by Angela Fernandez, who shares her turbulent childhood, toxic relationships, low self-worth, coping with alcohol and drugs, and even time in jail. Through plant medicine, therapy, counselling, and a spiritual awakening, she gradually discovered her gifts as a healer and guide. This is not a story of overnight change, but of steady, imperfect steps toward self-trust and a different way of living. If you’ve ever felt stuck in old cycles or unsure how to move toward something gentler, Angela’s story offers company and perspective for the journey.Key TakeawaysTrauma often wires us to believe chaos = love; healing means rewriting those stories.Addiction, toxic relationships, and even illness can become doorways into deeper transformation.Awareness is the foundation of healing — you can’t shift what you’re unwilling to see .Plant medicine and spirituality played a role in Angela’s awakening, but the real work came from choosing self-trust and courage.True power isn’t in “resilience” alone but in allowing peace, softness, and flow.About: Angela Fernandez, also known as The Spiritual Rebel, is a guide and coach who supports people in exploring self-trust, healing old patterns, and reconnecting with their own sense of wholeness. She draws from lived experiences — alongside her spiritual studies and intuitive work — to walk with others on their own healing journeys. Understanding & Working with Spirit Guides – with Psychic Medium Tracy Fance
In this special collaboration, I speak with psychic medium and tarot reader Tracy Fance to demystify the world of spirit guides. Tracy explains what spirit guides really are, how they differ from angels, ancestors, or totem animals, and why everyone has a “main guide” who walks with them from birth to death. You’ll hear fascinating insights about:The “hierarchy” of guides and their unique roles. How to build a two-way relationship with your spiritual team. Why intention is everything when reaching out.Practical steps to begin meeting your own guide. How guides grow and learn alongside us.Whether you’re brand new to the concept of spirit guides or already working with your spiritual team, this episode will give you both grounding clarity and practical next steps.Key TakeawaysEveryone has a main guide present from birth to death, plus specialist guides that come and go.Spirit guides are souls choosing growth through guiding, not necessarily angels or ancestors.Think of your spiritual support like a team or “army” — guides, totem animals, angels, ancestors, and Source all play roles.Communication is two-way. You can ask specific questions instead of waiting for vague signs.Discernment and protection are important: ground, set intentions, and trust your intuition if something feels “off.”Guides grow with us. Our learning is their learning too.Meeting your guide requires practice, intention, and journaling — not perfection.Previous episodes with Tracy: From Real Estate to Readings - The Unexpected Path to Becoming a Psychic MediumAbout: Tracy Fance is a psychic, medium & tarot reader, but that only scratches the surface of what she does. From Real Estate to Readings - The Unexpected Path to Becoming a Psychic Medium with Tracy Fance
Ever wondered why certain people, patterns, or challenges keep recurring in your life? In this episode, I speak with Tracy Fance, a professional psychic, medium, and spiritual teacher who didn’t always realise she possessed these gifts. Tracy shares how she transitioned from being a curious child fascinated by the unseen, to a seemingly "normal" life in real estate, to teaching herself tarot as life directed her down a new path. Along the way, she trained in modalities such as hypnotherapy, Reiki, NLP, and the Akashic Records — all while facing scepticism from her own family. We explore deep topics like soul contracts, karma, and what it means to choose our life challenges before we are even born. Tracy’s story reminds us that spirituality isn’t about being “chosen” — it’s about being willing to learn, stumble, and grow into your path.Whether you’re brand new to spirituality or you’ve been exploring it for years, Tracy breaks down these big concepts in a down-to-earth way. Expect some "aha" moments, maybe a few goosebumps, and definitely some insights you can apply to your own life journey.Key TakeawaysThe tough people in your life may be your biggest teachers.Recognising patterns is the first step to breaking them. The body holds onto trauma, which can manifest as physical ailments.Understanding the root causes of issues can lead to profound healing.Free will means we always have the power to shift how our story unfolds.Soul contracts = agreements we make before birth to learn lessons.Karma is about balance, not punishment.Healing often requires looking at subconscious beliefs and old trauma.Spiritual gifts aren’t just “born” — they’re cultivated through practice, study, and curiosity.Everyone has the potential to connect with their intuition and spiritual guides.Teachers, guides, and safe practices are essential when exploring spirituality.About: Tracy Fance is a psychic, medium & tarot reader, but that only scratches the surface of what she does. ABOUT THIS SHOW
Behind every pivot, loss, career shift, trauma or reinvention is a story.
