EP 122 - The Power of Words || WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE with DR. SCARLETT HORTON
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 122 – Dr. Scarlett Horton, “The Power of Words” __________ “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11:23 (KJV) Throughout Scripture, we see a powerful connection between faith and what we say. God’s Word reveals that faith is not only something we believe in our hearts—it is something we speak with our mouths. The words you speak are not insignificant; they are shaping your life, your perspective, and the direction of your future. In this episode, Dr. Scarlett Horton shares a message originally preached at the Generations “Spirit of Faith” Seminar in Laconia, New Hampshire, hosted by Joseph Roberts Ministries. Drawing from Mark 11 and other key passages, she unpacks the truth that your words carry power—to move mountains, reframe your thinking, and align your life with what God has promised. Through personal testimony, biblical insight, and practical application, you’ll see how speaking God’s Word can transform not only your circumstances, but your mindset and expectations. This message invites you to take ownership of what you are saying. You’ll be encouraged to ask God for the right words, to speak in agreement with His promises, and to call those things that be not as though they were. Whether you’re facing challenges, navigating change, or believing for breakthrough, your words are a vital part of walking by faith. God has given you authority in what you say—use it to speak life, hope, and victory over every area of your life. Your faith will be strengthened as you watch. __________ https://ScarlettHorton.com https://HortonMinistries.com/ __________ TO SUPPORT THIS PODCAST: https://gvly.org/s/NNHT.5REoBw OR TEXT Proverbs31 to 864-544-7171 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

EP 121 - Jesus Was Not Poor || WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE with DR. SCARLETT HORTON
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 121 – Dr. Scarlett Horton, “Jesus Was Not Poor” __________ “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9 (KJV) Throughout Scripture, we are given a clear picture of Jesus—not only as Savior, but as the full expression of God’s provision, grace, and abundance. Yet for many, long-held assumptions and religious traditions have painted a different image, suggesting that poverty is somehow synonymous with holiness. The Word of God invites us to look again. In this episode, Dr. Scarlett Horton takes a deeper look at what the Bible actually reveals about the life and ministry of Jesus. By examining Scripture in context, she challenges common misconceptions and brings clarity to the idea that Jesus lived in lack. Instead, you’ll see how His life reflected the goodness and provision of God, and how His redemptive work extends beyond salvation to every area of life. As you listen, you’ll be invited to reconsider what you’ve believed about provision, humility, and God’s heart toward His people. This teaching brings a fresh perspective on grace and helps you understand that God’s desire is not for His children to live in lack, but to walk in His sufficiency and be a blessing to others. God’s provision is not something to strive for—it is something to receive through Christ. Your faith will be enriched as you watch. __________ https://ScarlettHorton.com https://HortonMinistries.com/ __________ TO SUPPORT THIS PODCAST: https://gvly.org/s/NNHT.5REoBw OR TEXT Proverbs31 to 864-544-7171 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 120 – Dr. Scarlett Horton, “The Grace that Always Works” __________ “Therefore as ye abound in everything — in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us — see that ye abound in this grace also.” 2 Corinthians 8:7 Grace is often misunderstood. Many people think of grace only in connection with salvation, but Scripture reveals that God’s grace is not only what saves us—it is also what empowers us to live, grow, and prosper in every area of life. In this episode, Dr. Scarlett Horton is joined by her husband, Dr. David Horton, for a conversation about Scarlett’s newest book, The Grace that Always Works. Together they explore the powerful truth that God’s grace is active, dependable, and available to help believers walk in victory, provision, and purpose. Through Scripture, personal insight, and practical teaching, David and Scarlett unpack what it means to receive the grace that God has already made available. EP 118 - In God We Trust || WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE with DR. SCARLETT HORTON
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 118 – Dr. Scarlett Horton, “In God We Trust” __________ “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 In uncertain times, many people find themselves asking an important question: Where is my trust really placed? While the world often encourages confidence in systems, institutions, or financial security, Scripture points us to a far more reliable foundation—the unchanging faithfulness of God. In this episode, Dr. Scarlett Horton is joined by Dr. David Horton to discuss David’s newest book, "In God We Trust." Together they explore what it truly means to trust God when circumstances feel uncertain, when numbers don’t add up, and when natural solutions seem insufficient. Drawing from Scripture, personal experience, and practical faith principles, they share how believers can move from anxiety and double-mindedness into confident trust in the Lord’s provision. You’ll also hear about the “command of faith”—those simple but powerful steps God sometimes asks us to take in obedience. Throughout the Bible, miracles were often activated when someone responded to God’s instruction with faith, even when the action seemed small or unexpected. As you learn to listen for His direction and take those steps, you’ll discover that God’s promises are not distant ideals but living realities. God’s track record has never failed. As you place your trust fully in Him and seek first His kingdom, you can walk forward with peace, confidence, and joyful expectation of His provision in every area of life. EP 116 - Identification in Christ #2 || WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE with DR. SCARLETT HORTON
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 116 – Dr. Scarlett Horton, “Identification in Christ (Part II)” __________ “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 In Christ, your identity is not shaped by limitation, lack, or religious tradition—it is formed by His finished work. While culture and religion often assign value based on struggle, sacrifice, or appearance, Scripture invites you to see yourself through a far greater lens: your union with Christ. In this episode, Dr. Scarlett is joined by Dr. David Horton as they continue their conversation on Identification in Christ. In this timely Part Two, they explore how identification directly affects expectation—particularly in the areas of provision, generosity, and prosperity. You’ll be challenged to consider what you’ve been identifying with: scarcity or sufficiency, religious pressure or God’s grace, limitation or abundance. Through biblical teaching, real-life stories, and decades of ministry insight, you’ll be encouraged to identify with Christ’s life, not with poverty, lack, or unworthy mindsets. This message addresses long-standing religious beliefs that equate humility with deprivation and replaces them with the truth that God delights in blessing His children—not so they can boast, but so they can give, serve, and demonstrate His goodness to the world. As you grow in this revelation, you’ll find freedom to rejoice with others, confidence to give generously, and peace in knowing that God’s grace provides more than enough. This teaching will help you see yourself as God sees you—redeemed, resourced, and empowered to be a blessing. EP 115 - Identification in Christ #1 || WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE with DR. SCARLETT HORTON
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 115 - Dr. Scarlett Horton, “Identification in Christ” __________ “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 In a culture obsessed with identity—often defining worth by background, status, failure, success, or personal struggle—Scripture offers a radically different foundation: who we are in Christ. True identity is not discovered by looking inward or backward, but by seeing ourselves through the finished work of Jesus. In this episode, Dr. Scarlett Horton is joined by Dr. David Horton for a candid and thought-provoking conversation on what it means to identify with Christ rather than with past limitations, worldly labels, or inherited mindsets. Together, they unpack how identification shapes expectation, confidence, peace, and even the direction of our lives. Through biblical truth, personal testimony, and practical wisdom, you’ll be challenged to examine what you’ve been identifying with—and how those identifications may be influencing your thinking, relationships, and future. This teaching brings clarity to the power of association, the danger of misplaced identity, and the freedom that comes from knowing who God says you are. As you grow in understanding your oneness with Christ, anxiety, insecurity, and limitation lose their grip, and faith, peace, and confidence begin to rise. EP 114 - Letting Go and Moving Forward || WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE with DR. SCARLETT HORTON
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 114 - Dr. Scarlett Horton, “Letting Go and Moving Forward” __________ “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13–14) As a new year begins, many hearts sense God’s invitation to move forward. New seasons often bring reflection, but Scripture reminds us that while the past may inform us, it must never imprison us. God’s call is always forward—into fresh grace, renewed purpose, and confident expectation in Christ. God is not asking you to relive yesterday—He is calling you into what He has prepared for you now. This new year is not about striving harder, but about pressing forward in grace, confidence, and hope. In this episode, Dr. Scarlett is joined by Dr. David Horton, and together they explore Paul’s exhortation in Philippians chapter three to leave what lies behind and press toward what God has ahead. They share biblical insight and practical wisdom to help you recognize areas where old mindsets, past disappointments, or even former victories may be hindering forward movement. This timely message invites you to release comparison, regret, and condemnation, and to renew your mind with the truth of who you are in Christ. EP 109 - Victory Over Your Adversary || WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE with DR. SCARLETT HORTON
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 109 - Dr. Scarlett Horton, “Victory Over Your Adversary” __________ “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8) The Bible is clear — the devil is real, and he is actively seeking to oppose God’s people. Yet too often, believers either dismiss him as a cartoon character with horns and a pitchfork or give him more power than he actually has. The truth of Scripture is that while Satan is our adversary, we have been given authority over all his works through the blood of Jesus, the Word of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit. From Eve’s deception in the garden to Paul’s harassment by a “messenger of Satan,” the Bible shows us that the devil uses lies, discouragement, and pressure to try to stop the people of God. Yet his power is limited, and that God’s grace is always sufficient for us to overcome. In this episode, Dr. Scarlett Horton helps us recognize the strategies and schemes of the enemy without fear, equipping us to stand firm in victory. This message will open your eyes to the reality of spiritual warfare while filling you with confidence that the adversary is defeated and under your feet. EP 108 - The Blessing of the Lord || WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE with DR. SCARLETT HORTON
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 108 - Dr. Scarlett Horton, “The Blessing of the Lord” __________ “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3 NKJV) You’re not waiting on God to bless you — He already has. Yet so many believers live as though blessing is something they must earn, achieve, or pray hard enough to receive. The truth is far greater: through Jesus Christ, you have already been blessed with everything you need for life and godliness. The question isn’t whether you’re blessed — it’s whether you’re living in the reality of that blessing. In this powerful teaching, Dr. Scarlett Horton unpacks what it truly means to walk in “The Blessing of the Lord.” This blessing isn’t just about material provision or good circumstances — it’s a divine force that transforms every part of your life. It strengthens you in trials, brings joy in difficulty, anchors you in peace amid chaos, and empowers you to overcome every curse. And just as Balaam could not curse what God had blessed, no power of darkness can override the favor resting on your life. Your faith will be stirred as you discover that you are not striving for blessing — you are living from it. No matter your circumstances, you can walk in joy, peace, health, and abundance because the blessing is already yours. EP 90 - Moving Forward in Life || WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE with DR. SCARLETT HORTON
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 90 - Dr. Scarlett Horton, “Moving Forward in Life” __________ “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12-14) As we come to an end of a year, it is easy to think back and want to hold onto things from the past, whether they be past disappointments or past victories. While this may seem meaningful for a short season, it is vital to learn the strategy the Apostle Paul implemented: forget the things behind and striving forward to what lies ahead. We can't drive forward looking in the rearview mirror. Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.” (Luke 9:62 MSG) In this episode, Dr. Scarlett teaches about the importance of forgetting the past in order to embrace our bright future in God. EP 89 - Prayer: Just Do It! || WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE with DR. SCARLETT HORTON
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 89 - Dr. Scarlett Horton, “Prayer: Just Do It!” __________ “And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.” (1 John 5:14-15 AMPC) Too often people think about prayer, or even talk about praying, but in reality there is very little prayer actually being done. We have a heavenly guarantee that our prayers will be answered, but so often we have not because we ask not. God has given us great access in prayer, where we can share our heart with Him, and we can hear His heart for us. God is eager to answer us when we call. In Song of Songs 2:14, Our Bridegroom invites us to talk with Him saying, "Show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely." God wants to hear from us and spend time with us. In this episode, Dr. Scarlett takes a look at what the scriptures say about prayer. It is essential for our peace and victory.
