God Heard Hannah: The Birth and Calling of Samuel | 1 Samuel 1-3
Israel still has no king, but the story is shifting. In this episode, Adam and Kevin begin 1 Samuel by looking at Hannah’s prayer, the birth of Samuel, the failure of Eli’s household, and the moment God calls Samuel in the night. We discuss how 1 Samuel connects to the book of Judges, why Samuel matters as both prophet and judge, and what we can learn from Hannah’s faith, Eli’s weakness, and the corruption of Hophni and Phinehas. This is the start of one of the most important transitions in the Old Testament: from the time of the judges to the rise of kings in Israel.#BibleStudy #1Samuel #OldTestament #WordsOfLifePodcast

Judges 20-21: Chaos, Civil War, and the Need for a King
In this episode, we finish the book of Judges by walking through Judges 20-21 and the tragic collapse of Israel. What started as compromise ended in civil war, rash vows, and national chaos. We talk through the final refrain of Judges, “there was no king in Israel,” and why that statement matters so much. The problem was not just political. It was spiritual. Everyone was doing what was right in their own eyes, and the results were devastating. We also zoom out and look at the bigger Old Testament timeline to help set the stage for 1 Samuel. Samuel becomes the key transition point between the era of the judges and the rise of the kingdom. In this episode:Judges 20 and the war against BenjaminJudges 21 and the aftermathThe spiritual message behind the ending of JudgesWhy Samuel is the bridge to what comes nextIf this study encouraged you, be sure to follow the podcast and share it with someone who loves digging into God’s Word.

How Did It Get This Bad? A Study of Judges 19
How did it get this bad?In this episode, we take a deep and honest look at Judges 19, one of the most disturbing chapters in the Bible. This is not an easy story to read, but it reveals an important truth about what happens when people drift away from God.We walk through the events of Judges 19 and break down what led to Israel’s moral collapse. This chapter shows how sin, left unchecked, can grow and impact an entire culture. We also connect this story to Genesis 19 and Sodom and Gomorrah, highlighting the pattern of moral decline and the consequences that follow. If you have ever struggled to understand difficult passages in the Bible, this episode will help bring clarity and context. This is a sobering reminder that spiritual drift does not happen overnight. It happens slowly, one step at a time.If this episode helped you, be sure to follow the podcast and share it with someone who is looking to grow in their understanding of Scripture.

Samson and Delilah | The Downfall of Samson | Judges 16
In this episode of the Words of Life Podcast, Adam and Kevin finish the story of Samson by walking through Judges 16.They unpack Samson’s moral decline, his weakness for women, Delilah’s betrayal, his overconfidence, the loss of his sight, and the final collapse of the Philistine temple. This is one of the most dramatic chapters in Scripture, but it is also one of the saddest. Samson had great strength, yet he kept making foolish choices. This episode also explores a key biblical lesson: God may use a person for His purpose without approving of the way that person lives. Even in Samson’s failure, God still shows His power and defeats the enemies of His people.

Samson’s Revenge | Strong But Foolish | Judges 14-15
In this episode of the Words of Life Podcast, Adam and Kevin continue their study through Judges 14-15 and walk through one of the most dramatic sections in Samson’s story. They unpack Samson’s encounter with the lion, the honey in the carcass, the wedding riddle, the betrayal that followed, and the shocking revenge that led to the burning foxes. But this episode is about more than action. It is about a man who had great strength, yet lacked wisdom, restraint, and godly character. This conversation explores how Samson’s life shows the danger of flesh-driven choices, moral compromise, and unchecked revenge. It also points to the bigger truth that God may use someone for His purposes without approving of the way they live.If you are studying Samson, the book of Judges, or want a deeper look at Judges 14-15, this episode will help you see both the power and the warning in Samson’s story.

Welcome to Words of Life with Adam and Kevin! Today we hit Judges chapter 13 and the story of Samson. But before we even talk about his superhuman strength, we have to talk about the real theme building across this entire book: the slow drift of moral decay. Join us as we explore what happens when a culture decides truth by feelings. In this episode, we discuss:The Slow Drift: How a society slowly loses its moral compass and the danger of incremental moral decay. The Nazirite Vow: What it actually means to be "consecrated" or "set apart" from birth , and why it has absolutely nothing to do with Nazareth. The Angel of the Lord: Manoah and his wife's incredible encounter , and why many scholars believe this was a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus. The Philistine Bride & The Lion: Samson's first major compromises, his demand for a wife because she was "right in his eyes" , and his first display of divine strength on the road to Timnah.Finding God's Will: Practical lessons from Manoah on how to seek God in prayer for guidance instead of relying on our own understanding.Scriptures Covered:Judges 13-14 & Numbers 6 (briefly) Connect with us:If you're enjoying our verse-by-verse study through the Book of Judges, please leave a 5-star review!
