007 Embodiment: Exploring the Mind-Body Connection.

from The Scrumptious Woman · host Juliette Karaman

Hey there, lovely listeners! It's Juliette Karaman, and I'm thrilled to have you joining me on another episode of The Scrumptious Woman. Today, let's dive into the exciting topic of embodiment—what it means to be fully connected to our mind and body.Embodiment is about more than just talking about our experiences; it's about truly feeling and being present in our bodies. Through practices like somatic experiencing, we can tap into the wisdom held within our bodies for healing and self-awareness.I have a simple exercise for you to try. Focus on your hands and notice any sensations, temperature, or movements you feel. Then, let's explore the power of sound by making the "Vu" sound from your belly. Feel the vibration and observe any physical responses. To enhance grounding, connect with the earth's energy. Place your hands and feet on solid surfaces, hug trees, or spend time with grounded individuals or pets. Nourish your body with grounding foods like root vegetables and lentils, and be mindful of substances that can disrupt your nervous system.Let's wrap up with a fun cross-body movement. Place your right hand on your left shoulder, squeeze it three times, then drag it across your chest to your right hip. Feel the energy and release it down to your knees. Repeat with your left hand on your right shoulder. This movement brings balance and integration to our brain hemispheres.Remember, becoming more embodied and self-aware has a profound impact on our well-being and relationships. Try these exercises and share your experiences with me—I'd love to hear how they resonate with you.Thank you for joining The Scrumptious Woman podcast. Your presence means the world to me.
