Welcome to the very first episode of the Langpreneur Podcast. In this episode, you’ll get an idea of what you can expect from this podcast in the future. We created this podcast for people who want to turn their passion for languages into a profitable and scalable online business. This podcast is for: Bloggers, Podcasters, YouTubers, IG Influencers Learn how to grow your audience and offer more value, so you can generate revenue and earn a living from your work. Language Teachers Learn how to automate your teaching business so you can charge what you’re worth and work fewer hours. Language Businesses & Apps Connect with your future partners and brand advocates, and stay ahead of the game in a fast-changing industry. Language fans with ambitions to make an impact on the world! Discover how people just like you are creating independent careers online with nothing more than their love of languages and a bit of know-how! About your host: Jan is a language entrepreneur from the Netherlands and speaks over 10 languages, including Dutch, English, French, and Mandarin Chinese. He has lived, worked and traveled in over 100 countries – all within his twenties. While working as an intern at a Dutch trade company in Shenzhen, China in 2011, he came up with the idea to provide translation services to trade companies. After he returned to the Netherlands the business took off, and that was the beginning of TopVertaal, which he still runs to this day. Jan’s passion for foreign languages didn’t stop there. In 2017 he started his second venture called LanguageBoost, along with his Brazilian business partner, Luca Bighetti. At LanguageBoost, Jan and Lucas help people from all over the world to quickly reach a conversational level in a new language. They do so through publishing blog posts and YouTube videos, and the pair have also created language courses for over 15 different languages. Jan is also the co-organizer of the Langpreneur Summit and the Langpreneur Mastermind; two annual events in Europe where people come together to learn how to grow their online language business.
