010 - Wayne Setford: Founder of Together We Grow

Wayne Setford is a the Founder of Together We Grow, as well asa a gardener, visionary, friend, guide and so much more… This local community project is called Together We Grow set up in 2018 by Wayne and 2 former community volunteers who work in the public health sector to keep offering an important community and therapeutic resource and embed educational and well being programmes within the local Community Garden site, as well as through outreach project work in the community and with schools. The project he runs holds a very special place in my heart. As you'll hear on the podcast this garden has been a constant source of support and relief during some pretty intense times for me and I'm so grateful for all that it's offered me. Wayne and I talk about how we can start working with our gardens, becoming self-sufficient, the quality of our soil (and it's decline) and the saving grace of compositing. My hope is that this conversation inspires you to get outside into nature, into your gardens and start feeling the soil between your fingers and connecting with the beauty of the earth that’s all around us.
