013: Why Serious Energy Work Needs More Humor

from Energetic Advantage with Jessica Cerato · host Jessica Cerato

This episode is about humor. Not as a personality trait. As a tool. In this episode, I talk about why humor and levity are not separate from deep energetic work—they are part of it. Somewhere along the way, we started to believe that depth had to mean heaviness. That if the work was real, it had to be serious. I don’t agree. I share how approaching life and energy work with only seriousness creates unnecessary weight. Everything starts to feel personal. Every challenge becomes a problem to solve. And eventually, the work becomes exhausting. But humor changes that. I walk you through how laughter actually shifts your nervous system, expands your perspective, and opens you up to more options. If you can laugh, you can shift. If you can laugh, you can transform. I also share real stories—from bird poop in Venice leading me to a nunnery, to a bachelorette party reading where “no pickles” became a message from beyond—to show how humor is often the delivery system for truth. Because humor isn’t the opposite of depth. It’s how the message lands. Energy first. Strategy second. ✨ Takeaways: If you can’t laugh, you’re probably gripping too hard Seriousness doesn’t make the work deeper—it often makes it heavier Humor shifts your nervous system and expands your perspective If you can laugh, you can shift. If you can laugh, you can transform Crying opens the heart, laughing releases control—together, they create integration Without humor, people over-identify with their wounds and burn out Levity is leadership—it allows you to see clearly without collapsing Humor is not a distraction from the message—it is often the delivery system When you censor the delivery, you block the transmission Spirit is playful, precise, and often funny Humor lowers defenses and makes insight land faster Your unique sense of humor is an energetic fingerprint The goal isn’t to avoid depth—it’s to access it without drowning in it ✨ Connect With JessicaInstagram: www.instagram.com/jessica.ceratoWebsite: www.jessicacerato.com
