014. Conversations with a Sleep Specialist on the Sleep Training Myth | Brittni Mella
from We Are The Ambroses · host Cole and Keela Ambrose
Cole and Keela sit down and discuss the myth of sleep training with Brittni Mella who is a certified sleep specialist. There’s not a one-size fits all approach but it’s important to be informed on the potential harms of methods such as “controlled crying” or “graduated extinction.” You were chosen by God to parent your children and you have to do what you feel like is best for you and your children. But it doesn’t mean we should stop learning and seeking out information that can possibly improve our situations. Brittni is a certified Infant Sleep Specialist who is passionate about educating parents on the realities of biologically normal infant sleep while advocating for the normalization of connected and nurturing parenting practices. She founded Resting in Motherhood (formerly known as Lilahby Sleep) more than three years ago and has worked with over 500 families. At the core of Brittni's business philosophy is the commitment to providing parents with the essential tools required to establish sustainable sleep routines in their homes, all without using any form of sleep training. In addition to her expertise in infant sleep, Brittni assumes the role of a parenting cheerleader, offering unwavering support, and encouragement, as well as instilling confidence in parents throughout their unique parenting journeys.
