Episode 021 – Pico Boulevard [South Wales, UK] Since 1995, music has been a lifelong journey for Pico Boulevard, a progressive trance producer from South Wales, UK. What began as self-taught experimentation in FL Studio evolved into a full-fledged passion, eventually leading him to earn a degree in Sound Engineering and a master’s in Music Production and Engineering, with a specialization in Spatial Audio. After a reflective hiatus in his mid-twenties, Pico returned with renewed clarity and intent. His debut releases on JOOF Recordings — including "We’re All the Same" and "Bandersnatch" — marked a powerful re-entry into the scene. His hypnotic and emotionally charged sound quickly earned recognition and support from legendary artists like John 00 Fleming, Paul Van Dyk, Solarstone, Ferry Tayle, and Suzy Solar. Notable tracks such as "Another Time" (featured on Pure Trance Vol. 9), "Close Your Eyes", "Oblivion", "Xenomorph", "The Time Tripper", and "Retroplex" reflect Pico’s deep-rooted philosophy: that every track is less a performance and more a personal sonic journal. His recent collaboration with Malaysian artist Su San on "The Sun" introduced a fresh blend of Progressive House and Deep Trance, offering a refined soundscape at 124 BPM. Beyond his studio work, Pico co-hosts Sound Escape Radio with Sean Furlong, curating the DEEP mix series — an introspective sonic journey that values emotional resonance over formulaic presentation.
