#025: Real Talk with Shadia Hanna - CEO & Co-Founder of Origin Bioanalytical Laboratory

from Real Talk with Grace Redman · host Grace Redman

“There’s some people you just can’t please, and I learned that at a very young age.” - Shadia Hanna  In this episode of Real Talk, I had the privilege of chatting with Shadia about her journey as a first generation Palestinian-American woman who pursued a career in the biomedical field out of an innate desire to help people, and eventually built her own successful bioanalytical business from the ground up!  From a young age, Shadia knew she wanted to be in the medical field helping people, and being a daughter to immigrant parents, she never took her opportunities for granted. She credits much of her success to her parents paving the way for her education, and spent many successful years in the private sector upon her graduation from Villanova University.  Shadia’s story is packed with challenging the status quo: from choosing to pursue an education in Chemistry and invest in a corporate career instead of running the family business, to making the intentional (albeit tough) choice to transition from a well-paying corporate role to creating her own business to protect her time, energy, and relationships, to nurturing a strong company culture centered on empowering employees’ growth, education, and versatility.  There are many valuable lessons for leaders and entrepreneurs in this episode, and I’m excited to hear about what you’ve gleaned!  Make sure to drop me a message or comment on my Facebook page so that we can connect!  With so much love & gratitude,  Grace 💋 Connect with Shadia Website Email
