It is "the dangerous organizational process where departing from established safety rules or standards becomes accepted practice over time, often because no immediate negative consequences occur." As of today we're seeing massive walk-outs in the nursing, firefighting, and EMS world, all because standards are being lowered and called acceptable, regardless of safety, simply because there's no catastrophe.
