#027: Real Talk with Gabby Villafan - Law Student at Drexel University Thomas R. Kine School of Law

from Real Talk with Grace Redman · host Grace Redman

“Nobody’s free until everybody’s free.” - Gabby Villafan  This Real Talk features an inspiring conversation around law, culture, and kinder self-talk with Gabby Villafan, currently a law student at Drexel University!  Gabby was motivated to pursue law school after the powerful experiences she had being represented by pro bono attorneys, and representing clients pro bono as a paralegal.  Born in California to parents who immigrated from Bolivia and El Salvador, Gabby shares about how her appreciation for her roots, cultural heritage and family increased when she moved to Bolivia at 16 with her family.  Her time in Bolivia showed her how important connection with other people is, and to this day is an integral part of her life and she navigates through the rigors of law school.  Gabby talks about the importance of maintaining healthy boundaries, as well as the need for all of us to be kinder to ourselves: “The way we talk to our friends is so different from the way we talk to ourselves. The way we talk to ourselves needs to be with more love, more grace and more compassion.”  Tune into this episode of Real Talk for Gabby’s powerful insight on fighting Imposter Syndrome and understanding that your voice and perspective matters, along with the people around you who may be underrepresented!  I’d love for you to drop me a note on your favorite takeaway from this podcast - connect with me on Facebook here!  With so much love & gratitude,  Grace 💋 Connect with Gabby  LinkedIn Facebook  Instagram
