03: Hostage

Jonah is alive. The night the sky fell, the door of a ruined car folded around him and kept him — and now he, Matt, and a girl named Madison are hiding in a small house on a dead street, hunting for one thing: a phone charger. Because somewhere out there, Mary is alive too, and the first phone she finds, she'll call. When a droid comes through the walls, an old costume sword earns its keep — and a long black car pulls up alongside three running kids with a gun and an offer that isn't one. Across the city, Mary's search for Jonah becomes a van, an ambush, and a tower full of patient machines. Two groups, two chargers, one number. At the end of the day the call finally comes — and the distance between a ringing phone and a reaching hand is the cruelest thirty feet in the world.
