03 Pendulum

from The Night Pharma · host The Night Pharma

Drone based trance music. Didgeridoos, synthesizers, tanpura machine, two FM3 Buddha Machines along with samples. Recorded and produced in the summer of 2023 at Nadaville Studios in south Stockholm. I am most attracted to the ritualistic and consciousness changing elements of music. I know music can be used for pleasure and enjoyment, but both concepts lead to the questions, what is pleasant? How do we enjoy things and why? I believe reality is a projection of our mind. At the same time our mind works on making sense of reality. But there is no separation between the two. It is a constant cycle of adaption, recognition, and change. That which exists outside the mind is Nature. By encountering Nature, we can expand our mind and bypass reality, that which we live in. Music for me is a way to do this. Recording music is a way of passing on or sharing the essence of the musical ritual. Like providing a taste of something. When recorded music works it transports the listener to the site of ritual. At that point a form of transcendence can be experienced. The ritual does not have an audience. It only has participants. I want to be in a permanent state of ritual, making music for the realizing of higher consciousness for all.
