04-04-2023 The Story of Philip - 10 Minutes with Jesus

The meditation focuses on Philip the apostle; how Christ called him; and how above all he learnt what Christ's 'glory' really meant. Christ gave glory to God through his apparent loss of glory in his suffering and death. Philip witnessed the announcement of Judas' treachery and Judas going out to betray Our Lord, and then Jesus exclaimed: "Now is the Son of Man glorified". Jesus is glorified and glorifies his Father also in betrayal, by accepting this in perfect union with his Father's will. We can learn from Philip that true glory is not human praise but precisely this same loving union with God.
