04. Growing Pains

from Your Enriched Self · host Mylene Noir

Why do we go to great lengths to avoid pain? When we work through the discomfort, we find our accomplishments on the other side. There are benefits of transformation and growth, but we prefer to skip all the responsibilities of the transformation and growth. To sum it up, pain around growing never feels good. And the reality is pain is a necessary ingredient for change. This week we discuss three ways to engage Growing Pains with a new mindset:Be open - It starts with being open-minded; whatever you want to do, the first step you must champion are the thoughts of your mind.Look for the “L” - Choose to find the lesson on the journey. Be deliberate to focus on what you learned from the experience. There are lessons in painful stories and lessons after victory.Apply - Your responsibility is to go from knowledge to action. Pursue your life story as an active participant and not a passive one. Knowledge is power once you apply it.
