041 What to Do with Online Criticism

The longer you're in business and the more visible you are online, the more likely you'll be the recipient of criticism. Want to know what I do? Listen to this podcast. A quick summary: Ignore it Delete their comments Block the person Report them to LinkedIn (especially if their comment is unprofessional or a violation of LinkedIn's Terms of Service) Comment back to everyone else Acknowledge them and offer a direct way to contact you (email) Don't feed the trolls. Two responses, then ignore them. See a friend being attached? Support them. Defend them -- on THEIR posts, not on their attacker's. Let it go as quickly as you can. Energy moves in one direction.
