Ein roter Punkt, etwa acht Zentimeter im Durchmesser, locker auf den Fels gemalt – und plötzlich beginnt ein neues Kapitel im Klettersport. Vor genau 50 Jahren, im Frühjahr 1975, markiert Kurt Albert am Streitberger Schild im Frankenjura den vermutlich ersten „Rotpunkt“. Was als kleine Geste beginnt, wird zur Revolution: Der Rote Punkt wird zum Symbol für die freie Begehung einer Route – aus eigener Kraft, ohne technische Hilfsmittel. Damit befreite und revolutionierte Kurt Albert das technisch dominierte Klettern seiner Zeit - und wurde so auch zum Pionier und Begründer des weltweit anerkannten Freikletter-Stils. Es war der Auftakt für einen großen, bis heute anhaltenden Kletter-Boom.
