Mm-hmm. Okay, so you leading us in Mr. Grammar some Mr. Grammar some well This is the one piece of follow-up that I had like the one actual piece of all of that I put in the in the notes is You always say that I berate you on things and you mentioned that I was berating you and I was reading this and I was like Yeah, and I let it slide like the first couple times But it's berate with a T So I was an ass and I sent you a screenshot of the definition says berate and I had the whole thing a whole bunch of you Know alternative words you could use but that was my grammar not see a moment and now I'm done All right, so the is there a active form of this word like to the process of to berate is still just it's just to berate It's a verb.
Okay. It's an action word. All right, so I'm I'll be honest. I didn't even read it I mean you found this out a few minutes ago because I didn't read that at all, but I'll read it later Dude, come on.
There's a whole reason I made that note too because I was like, hey, you know what? We need to have a better way for live follow-up because like I'd rather get a notification if you change something Also, I'd love to be able to use an assistant to basically attach stuff or append stuff to the end of a note So I made the note with the illicit instructions and they're saying like hey, here it is I said a list of them and explicit explicit instructions like here it is this is what we need to do and Didn't even look at it makes me so sad keep those illicit notes to yourself, please No explicit. Yeah, all right, so in a little bit of a follow-up I guess you want to know about where I'm at with my movie, right? I just want to make sure that you're actually like starting this movie because with your track record if you haven't started, you know And it's what now the 24th if you haven't started means you have less than a week to go and at your pace I'd hoped that you Start in time to finish because this is a longer movie than the others.
It's good that you're checking in I'm right in the middle of like a 10-day work like stint. So I will I started on Thursday, Thursday Friday off So I plan on just like committing three hours of my life on one of those two days to seeing this film You could break it up Which is a smart thing to do and just watch an hour here and hour there. Oh, oh, break it up You've always told me I can't do that. Well, the movie this long dude break it up, right?
You fell asleep in the middle of it anyway, so you end up breaking them up anyway Well, no every time I've done that I've gone back and watched from the beginning again So I kind of had to like forcibly do it again. Okay. We'll be watching the beginning just ignore what I had to say Okay, all right. Yeah, so Thursday or Friday.
It'll happen. So by time we talk again, you know, it'll uh It'll be done. You will have watched the Lord of the Rings fellowship of the ring extended edition you Yep, I'm definitely not looking forward to this one. Well, you got to make sure it's the extended edition too, right?
You got to get that actually, you know, 30 minutes. Yeah, I'm a little confused by the like extended edition like When movies are ready three hours or two hours and 30 minutes or whatever the hell we're calling it Like what is 30 minutes more of crap drag on for like how much longer can you really make this damn thing? Well, the whole thing was when Peter Jackson made these movies, right? He wanted to make them really really long and this year's like no, no, no, no, we can't get people to stay but for that long We can't get people to sit down for a four-hour movie That's that's impossible And then they released the movies and they were like blockbusters and then he just made them longer and longer and longer and then he released Them with all the stuff that the studio made him cut all like these other scenes that are somewhat important to the story You can argue that you could deal without them But they are bored parts of the story and they kind of help build the characters a little bit more So yeah, they got to throw all that in there because you know everyone would eat shit for these movies when they came out And I was like, yeah, I'll sit through four hours That's fine, you know, but when he first bitches the studio So he was like hell no three hours.
Are you crazy? We can barely get people to sit for two I mean, I probably would have wanted to walk out, you know, and especially if it's one of those that's like gonna put me to sleep In the middle because there's just a bunch of pillar content. It's just trying to get you through so yeah I can I can understand that but we'll see I will report back on whether I wanted to fall asleep at any point So you also want to do a inquire about the status of my beard, huh? Yeah, this one kind of just faded off into the mist which I assume also happened with the beard It just kind of faded off or got shaved off, but yeah, what happened to the beard that you were growing um, so it's kind of funny You're timing is really funny because it did get shaved off so it went back to you know clean shaven But it's probably been two weeks since I've shaved so it's kind of kind of come back a little bit But you know, I just haven't got around to I guess shaving and I have the luxury of not having to worry about that So, you know, it's it kind of comes and goes, but it's definitely not the link that it was So are you going to grow it back or you're just being lazy and not shaving being lazy and not shaving?
Okay, those are just side effects got it. Yes side effect of like you know I could wake up and you know get out of bed and and you know spend the extra what 10 15 minutes and actually shave today or I could just you know be lazy and you know get to work earlier or you know enjoy 15 more minutes of my morning not doing that so yeah That's that's what I've elected to do the last few days. All right. Well, that's disappointing Did someone make you shave it off?
No one really quote-unquote made me shave it off It's just a very strong suggestion to shave it off. Yeah. Yes, there's a female in my life that would prefer Not be hair on the face, but you know, I won't let that like completely dig to anything Like if I really wanted it, I would just do it, but also just like yeah, all right It's it's it's neither like better with it or better without it It's just it's just there so you know kind of like the hair on the top of my head I cut it off every once in a while to just like you know what it's time to cut it off and I want it back Or I get you know the itch to get it back. I can easily grow it back Just you know, just give it a few weeks back it comes So you got to like start tracking how often you get a haircut or put like a haircut log or I think there's probably an app Track your haircuts.
You should probably look into that. I'm sure there's an app for that I can tell you I don't know I get a haircut probably like every six weeks or so So roughly but I don't know the exact average day But I'm sure it's capitalable You know, just keep working on that and I can find a way to give you an exact number Anyway, so I assume your beard is doing well. It's there. I mean it gets trimmed every once in a while But you know, it's what I'm gonna say like when you live a beard life It's just kind of like yeah, the beard is there I'm not going like crazy and you know growing it out like a you know a divorce or anything like that You'll understand when you watch the movie So I'm not growing like a crazy long beard, but you know, I just got my my Adam beard Good to hear you know, it's it's funny because as I You know record this every week.
I look at a picture of you with the beard because that's your that's your skype picture So, you know, it's like oh, I have Adam just staring back at me. Yep. I just get your monogram That's it. Yeah, I prefer to be a little more private Adam actually has a picture Anyway, all right.
So this week I guess what I thought would be interesting was to talk a little bit about robots but it's kind of more from robots to more like battlebots and I guess I should give a little context to this because I saw an episode on TV of battlebots this week and That basically got me thinking about You know the robots themselves and just like you know, it was really interesting We watched I don't like I saw it hour of it So it was just funny to see that so that being said I just thought it would be cool to talk a little bit about this Yeah, so you brought up robots and I was like we already did an episode of robots, right? So see episode the nuts and bolts or nuts and bolts of robots. I don't know from November of 2017 So what's the year ago? We talked about this with Jim.
So when you talk to me about it, I was like, all right And then you're like, well, I watch battlebots like okay. Well, that's cool. Let's just talk about that I don't care about robots anymore. You know robots scare me, but battlebots are fun.
Yeah, it's uh, I mean I definitely think they're fun. I uh, so I mean I guess I should start with like I'm pretty naive on this because I've only seen like Now like two episodes or three episodes of this and I'm slowly starting to learn a little bit about it But it seems pretty cool and at the same time really nerdy. Um, don't get me wrong, but um I guess, um, with a little bit of context that I'm like, have you ever built robot machine anything like this? I mean, did you have anything like and I know you said you did RC cars when you were younger, but like did you ever do anything like this?
Just to build something to smash it or something like that. Did I ever build something with the intent of destroying it? No, not really. No, that wasn't uh, I didn't have that disposable income to just build something and immediately like hey, you know Let's just take a hammer to it and see how it happens.
I mean you can argue that I did that with RC cars because RC cars I'd break something every time we went out to the track, you know Which is just kind of the nature of you know, racing in any type of car You just always seem to break something, but you know, we call these battlebots They're not really robots. They're just souped up like RC demolition dirty cars, right? That's all that they are Yeah, I mean under me the they are that it seems like but also like I mean curveball they have like drone battlebots now This is now so okay. Let's put some context around this.
It's like you watch battlebots. You're like, oh man, I watch battlebots I'm like, oh cool. Like the original you're like, what do you mean? Like from 2015?
I'm like no from 2000 Like yeah, I had no idea that this went back that far like literally just like watching this on like the Discovery Channel And there's like this you know drone flying around that like shoots fire and I'm like, what the hell is this it is nuts Yeah, so battlebots I watch on Comedy Central in 2000 You know with my dad and we watched like the premiere and the first like tournament and stuff like that and you had your like fan favorite robots And you're like, oh, these ones are gonna be these ones are gonna degrade They're like commentary was like, you know an arena deathmatch You know what these are these little robots in there, right? You get them all in a ring together and see who can you know last one standing All the best is when they had you know, like five robots at a time go after one another. Oh, it's so funny Yeah, it's uh, it's not when they do these uh, these things I mean like every round is just kind of crazy. So anyway, okay So you've never built one I kind of built not like one that I planned on destroying it needed to compete first In the sense that it was a robot But like once we were done we were it was a mnemonic robot and when we were done We we totally like kind of had fun going like head-to-head with people and just like until they just seized and didn't work anymore Which was kind of fun So we did that in college, which was all done with like college funds and I don't know like $50 input It really wasn't that much money, but it was fun It was cool to do and I just didn't really know that this was like a thing to do more like On a bigger scale and so my little one had like a it had like a kicker leg essentially It was programmed and it meant to hop on like one leg is what it skull was and so We kind of turned our kicker leg into like a just a smashing, you know forward-facing arm and And we just try to like punch whatever was in front of us So it was interesting to play so those are the good ones the ones with the mnemonic like flippers Right, so they'd have like the scoop like the shovel almost right where you know It was like this just kind of sharply of those close to the ground so you could get that underneath the robot and then just release Yeah, and that robot would go flying up into the air and these things aren't you know light They're pretty heavy, especially like the battle bots ones right they're pretty big You know we need a couple hundred pounds and this thing would just like toss them like they were you know like nothing Yeah, and a lot of robots basically that the number one killer for a robot is if you flipped over And you didn't have a way to write yourself or to drive in either orientation, right?
So the I don't know like I know you want to kind of get into like the classes and sizes But I think it's worth calling out that uh, they had different kinds of robots All right, so we mentioned like there was a scoop on with the pneumatics But my favorite was the the saw Roomba, which is just like a Roomba, you know that with a giant like saw blade attached to it I love those ones that have like saw Roomba, but they all saw is like mounted to like a claw arm So it's literally like just driving around in the claw arm like comes down and saws on whatever is in front of it Uh, man, you just drive out They just you know drive the thing around pin the guy against the wall and they just saw right through it Yeah, the other one that's funny too is like the the one that's just basically like a table saw or like, you know Just a chop saw there's just like mounted on like wheels So it's just this big giant spinning blade like just going right towards you It looks like just a big triangle, you know like a tripod with this giant saw blade in the front just gonna Yeah, it's crazy too. Some of these guys they're like spinning or something like that And they and they get like they're going so fast around it I mean when these things collide, you know despite weighing, you know Like you said and we're gonna get into size classes, but like you know despite weighing, you know pretty heavy amounts like these things just go flying everywhere So I mean there's a lot of power behind some of these things for sure And I also like the ones that kind of have like a almost like a scoop And so they're just they look to me They I'm gonna call them like the dump truck or something like that because they literally just come over and like flip the dude in front of them over You know, so Rendering immobile using doing something like that. But anyway, let's let's jump into sizes for a second So After kind of a a few episodes. I was kind of getting you know the hang of it that essentially there are different sizes and Within sizes there's also like different or within the arena itself.
There's like different like amount of components or opponents I mean so like essentially you either have like You know four or six or whatever and you the sizes are all done by weight and so Surprisingly, none of them are really all that small like at least for what I consider small It's like most of them are like somewhere between like, you know, 50 and 250 or 300 pounds So they're really quite heavy robots, but they're spread across like a like it's like, you know Small, medium and large category if I remember correctly. Do you do you know the exact like like nomenclature Adam? So I haven't watched battle bots since 2000 or 2001 So anything that I remember which granted chalk it up to be in, you know, almost 20 years ago I don't remember that well and then even if I did remember it's probably changed You know, but usually like with anything right they have a light heavy and like ultra heavy type of class Yeah, which by the way is so funny because this thing has like such funny parallels to like boxing And so it's like, you know, like there's like this, you know, suited guy who's the announcer who is doing like an immense amount of like Hailing from the left corner is this team from so and so, you know, wherever and it's like It's just it literally seems like they're announcing a boxer about to come in and it's like four and already dudes bringing their battle bot into like battle It's like wwe man. It's wwe with robots.
It's so funny It's so funny and it just reminds with of course the size glasses too being like, you know Heavyweight and boxing and so on and so forth. It's like it just seems the parallels are totally there I'm sure it's probably it may be done like in a boxing arena because I mean it seems kind of perfect for it It's like it's right about the same size It looks like and you know when they film these things it seems like they're in like a you know Like some sort of a studio where there's a bunch of people all there and you know able to watch and so on and so forth So I don't know because I mean you gotta put all those like kids and saws and stuff like that and like the giant hammers on the side Like I don't know if that's an actual boxing arena, but yeah, maybe it's in a stadium somewhere But yeah, I mean like they have a special arena, you know where there's all sorts of hazards that are there Yeah, yeah, you know, let's let's jump real quickly through that so that the length of the matches I'm pretty confident. I haven't seen a match any longer or shorter than Then three minutes. Um is there I don't know if there is anything longer shorter than that at them But I think that seems to be the going rate so you got three minutes or If everybody's rendered immobile and you're the last one right now You know at whatever time that is then it gets called kind of like boxing with you There's like ref and it's like all right you're the only dude there and everyone else is flipped over and immobile and doesn't seem like they're getting anywhere Then you win automatically.
So it seems like three minutes is the magic number I don't know who cares about the length of matches. Well, okay It's really funny because like again another parallel the boxing three minute rounds It's like this is like literally someone who was a boxer must have been like the founder of battle bots I don't know. I mean just it's just any arena def match like okay, you have opponents going against each other and they're fighting Right, so yeah, what parallel you're gonna draw you know, like the rules we have against fighting, right? So you can go by technical hits you can go by you know immobility, right?
So it's like okay if this guy is knocked out or KO'd then yeah, the match is over So of course it's going to resemble any like form of fighting like it resembles mixed martial arts it resembles wrestling It resembles all these things right like you pin it opponent or you do this It's anytime where you have you know contact type sports not contact sports But like these one-on-one fighting sports, right? We'll get out of the death match arena just for you know Sick of simplicity, but yeah, of course, I'm gonna have this because that's the only way to grade something like that We're gonna grade it by like how many pieces fly off. I mean like that would be cool, right? Like oh this guy lost an inch, you know, that's worth three points, you know, or oh that guy, you know, like lost a wheel That's worth four points There are judges though They defect to if like if they're like more than one person remains at the end So they there is some sort of you know skewed you know way to measure like okay I think this guy seem to have done more damage throughout.
That's true right when there is no knockout they at least go to a decision Yeah, winner by split decision. Oh, yeah, this is so stupid The more I look back on it now is like this is such a dumb idea and it was just you know, like hey Let's get a bunch of people, you know with giant lawnmowers and like have the lawnmowers attack each other and I'm like, yeah, I'll sign up to watch that Yeah, why not? The best of television. So the arena itself is like I don't know the exact size, but I'm gonna guess like 50 by 50 or something.
It's square It's gotta be like you know 40 by 40 or 50 by 50 or something like that Because it's it's pretty sizable and all these little things are just in like kind of like a like a glass in cage or something like that and I mean to your point Adam There is like in in terms of like I labeled it as like obstacles I don't really know what you want to call it, but like just their hazards man. Okay. There you go So hazards so there's All these little things that are going on inside the arena that are set up that aren't even the other battle bots just trying to attack you They are just things going on and so there's um like the things I've seen there's like a um Like a hammer that's just heading down just randomly in the corner It's just like I don't know like it's got probably like a 12 inch head on the hammer So it's a giant hammer just coming down there is saws that come up from the ground randomly at times that you don't know when you don't know why Randomly they're not random. Well, they seem semi-random in the sense that like they're not at least the ones I was noticing today I was trying to count like um, he's just like every two seconds every five seconds It didn't seem that like Dude underneath like pressing a button like bring up the saws in the middle, right?
Like they see the whole point of the hazards is if someone gets close enough to a hazard Like someone's gonna press the button It's the same reason like the hammers don't start going off until someone gets close to the hammer, right? Like there's some dude controlling that hammer and they turn it on you know when someone's close enough And I think that they can you know hit them. It's like, you know, have you ever been to like a land? You know being in California, you've been to like a land, right?
Yeah, when I was a kid I went So there's that ride where it's like you're kind of on this lego contraption You know spinning around over the water and people can put like 25 cents on like those little water cannons on the outside like spectators So people who aren't on the ride, you know, but they're watching the ride go around They're these water cannons mounted that they can basically like spectate and like shoot you with water It's kind of like that, right? I was like, oh, you know these cars are flying around there's just one guy, you know with the buttons like I got the hammer So if anyone comes near with a hammer, I'm smashing them with a hammer Like from the 2000 battlebots. That's definitely what it was. Someone was turning those things on when someone got close enough And they could drive over like the saws and I'm sure there was like some like etiquette where it's like okay Like you can't just like throw the saws up if someone's gonna, you know, running towards them You have to like wait till they're like over it for like a second and probably now You know you can do all that with sensors and stuff like that So, you know some robot hangs over the saws for too long and then they go up and off But yeah, these things are you're opponent's not the only thing you have to worry about You have to worry about the environment around you because there are lots of other Contractions and hazards that will render you botless Definitely there's tons.
There's also like I don't even know how to describe it like I am A metal like spinning pipe with like some pointy things on the end of it It's gotta be like six or eight feet long like on one side and people use that thing to just like they just drive another bot into it And then oh, yeah, that's the best it's just spinning around It's like and you know, they're just like pinned a bot next to it. It's just eating up the the bot It's like oh god. Yeah, when they overpower them as our pushing over into hazards That was always the best too, right? You have all these weapons to you know flip a bot or you know chainsaw bot whatever it's going to be But these things are made out of metal They're pretty hard to you know destroy so your whole like name of the game is like all right And you took as much damage as possible while also not damaging my bot, right?
So yeah, when they start like forcing them into like the hammer and the hammer just wails on them for like 30 seconds straight Oh, it's just so satisfying. It's great because sometimes you see them just like start like smoking or whatever because they're just like yeah And you're like, yes, this dude is getting owned right now. It's great or they can only turn left or something like that. Yeah, yeah Yes, yeah, oh it's and there was uh there was one the other day that um it was like a double bot So like I don't know if there's some rules where like as long as you're under a certain weight you're good But essentially there was like the team had two bots in their starting position And there was like one bot and then like like a flea bot I'm gonna call it because it was only like six inches wide and able to like run around the helper bot It was just like a noise like it would just piss people off and finally there was this One bot that was just spinning around just you know, I don't know what rotational speed was going around it But it seemed like 30 miles an hour.
It was rotating at and it just finally the little flea bot ran into that and it just got Like just catapulted across there Okay, he doesn't exist anymore Oh, god So good so good. DJ room was spinning bot though Like those ones we didn't really we kind of glazed over those ones But yeah, the DJ room with the saws on them is one thing And there's also the DJ room by that has like just this thing that spins right at an insane, you know speed And then it just goes and tries to run into somebody Just this year back of running into them with this thing that's spinning so fast Gosses up to just like fly But usually it causes like a lot of blowback to so the other bots go flying as well Like you just imagine this little helper bot, you know, like two link around. That's like, you know, six with the size of, you know, the regular bot Yeah, it just went flying and like the glass cages, you know, you just saw it hit the glass cage And it was just gone and there was at one point I know another bot hit the the spinning bot too and like Some of its wires came out So I think it had a servo or something that was just like, you know, hanging out there Or like it maybe was like a wire with a DC brushless motor It was just being drug around behind the robot itself and I was like, oh, huh Something's not working because clearly those wires are supposed to be inside the robot and not outside the robot It's it's really satisfying to watch just two pieces of metal just get destroyed I don't know why okay I have to say this now is I realized what this is all kind of, you know, modeled round Which is like back in Roman times like gladiators, right? This is the whole, you know, spectator sport of like let's all watch someone, you know, be the shit out of another person, right?
Let's watch some people kill each other. Yeah, so this is like nerd gladiator. Yeah, this is like nerd gladiator It's like gladiator with robots, but the thing is is that did you ever you probably haven't seen the movie gladiator? Goddammit, Lou.
Have you seen the movie gladiator? Um, yeah, I think I have actually Think about it good I mean like every time I want to say something that's like parallel to a movie because that's you know pop culture and people get pop culture I start saying it and I get all excited and then I realize that oh shit He probably hasn't even seen the movie or even if he has he hasn't, you know, like just don't remember it But uh in gladiator, right? This is the whole problem with uh getting all these robots to fight each other and much like they did, you know, in In the gladiator game, I think we could slave to fight each other, which is great But uh with all these robots fighting each other, it's only gonna take one of them to, you know, start the uprising and get these robots to turn on each other Which is why they're just our sea cars. They don't they're not smart.
They don't think for themselves. It's okay But I just see all the parallels to that and I did want to bring up at some point It just felt like the natural way to shoehorn that in there is like, yeah, you know, it's like gladiator with robots It's just something like actually the movie gladiator with robots because that didn't end well for all of us fat You know yuppies up in the stands. We're like, oh, look at that robot. Oh, yeah, go that robot That being said, um, I kind of want to talk a little bit about um, what the heck is inside a lot of these So I know you kind of hinted at already that they are just like RC cars at the end of the day inside them So um, and I kind of figured that out when I saw that yes Like the teams are standing there and the remote control things look totally like RC cars So I assumed that most of these are just, you know, battery powered things that are, you know Really really beefed up to the size of like a lot more, um, like you said, but um, do you have any idea what that's going on inside these?
A lot of high powered servos and a lot of like leftover shop tools I mean really what goes in them is they they put in a lot of motors right to drive these things around because they are really heavy So anything that goes in an RC car I mean, that's basically what you're putting in there and then you're just putting some servos and other actuators in place to you know Handle the weapons and things like that Um, and then just a bunch of radio receivers and whatever failovers and fail say if you want to try to put in You know, like backup, you know, motors or backup servos for, you know, all these other things like you'll see people like They'll be inactive for a little bit of time and you see the guy like flipping all these switches on his remote control Like trying to, you know, engage the backup motors or engage, you know other things But yeah, I think a lot of it is just like a typical, you know robot for lack of a better term But with motors and servos actuators everything that you would put on there a little radio transceiver and a bunch of batteries and boom You've got yourself a killing machine Yeah, I think they are uh, really advanced. Let's just put it that way I didn't really put together enough that they probably do have backup, you know Everything and they're kind of trying to go to backup. The one thing I did see is it seems like in between Matches they kind of have like a nascar level thing where they like go back to like the pit and you know, like try to rebuild them and Or they maybe just have a second one I'm not sure and then just come out with the next one and and go for like the next round I don't know if you know if they have to rebuild it or not But it's it seems like they're able to like sort of you know rebuild on the fly between rounds as they advance, you know through You know Like top 16 and then top eight and so on and so forth. Oh, yeah, okay, okay So yeah, when you're going to like the tournament style I think they have like a certain number of days before the next match and then it's just like, you know any car race or whatever Boxy match you get that time to basically repair or do what you need to do But I don't think you can like sub out like a whole nother robot.
I don't think it's like, you know, I don't know if you can do that Okay. Yeah, it's I just know that it seems like there's like a pit area. So that was uh, that was interesting. I saw like a A glimpse, you know, either going to commercial or whatever and you know, you see all the guys are kind of working on them So I assume there's some sort of rebuild area or you know, miscellaneous parts and tuning that have to be done So anyway, so are there any rules like does there I mean other than wait and short of that Like as long as you destroy everything you're good.
No, I think there are rules I think there's actually like a rule book of things that you can and can't do But this is like I said from 2000. That's all I remember so I know fire is not often It's because I definitely seen one to just oh man, it was hilarious It was kind of like the like you were saying like the saw arm But it was um instead of being a saw arm It was able to somehow just like burn whatever like a little flamethrower on the end of it They can only go like you know like foot or two and it just like cooked a robot Like literally just like drove it into the sidewall and then just like executed its little like arms just And just like flamethrower at the top of the robot until like, you know, the computer components inside of it Or just like fried it can't wait to be robots just if they're turning it like Make sure it's a nice even cook. I mean, you know, make sure my robots are medium rare Please inside before you move on to the next one. I'm sure there are like rules like stupid things like okay You can't have like radio jammers, right?
Like so you can't walk all other signals It's like I put the switch is like off like you're almost disabled my turn Like I'm sure you can't have stuff like that And I'm sure there can't be like any secrets about your robot like secret weapons or anything like that I'm sure all the robots have to go to like a physical inspection and there are things that aren't allowed, right? I'm sure it can't be like you probably can't have a certain amount of like combustible liquid You know, because otherwise it would cause you know like there's giant explosion, you know on the uh on the arena Yeah, I'm sorry. You can't you know like have You can't be a propane tank on wheels. No, that's not a thing Yeah, as you run into the DJ guy, that might be a problem like I'll take the DJ room versus propane tank Propane with like a little like flame just right next to it at all times.
Yeah, yeah All of a sudden the DJ room was just cooked to or it's just gone. All right. Well, my five-gallon propane tank did a real good job for the You know think it's exploded the whole arena's gone That'd be probably like the best You know thing right because if you could build a thing that was you know pretty resistant to explosions And as long as I could still drive around after like the propane tank could be gone You know, and as long as you take the other robot with you, you can still drive around like you technically win Propane tanks are pretty cheap. You know like I'm pretty sure you can get those, you know from any 7-Eleven anywhere.
It's not that expensive Oh god, I think the uh, what is it like a marigash is like one of the companies that does the propane tanks like good god They would they're like going out of business. They're like really high amount of usage in this one area where the battle bots competitions are all the time Sponsored by a marigash. I mean like just last of their sticker on the side. Oh wait, it's already there.
Nevermind like free advertising It's great going through like 30 tanks a weekend. We don't and they get returns missing, you know, we're just in all pieces People get playing this back our tank deposits. It's amazing. It's like they're like they're just throwing these tanks away in which makes us tons of money It's great Uh, yeah, it's too funny.
Yeah, I mean this is definitely something I'm gonna probably watch a little bit more of because they they're just I don't know. It's like hard a TV. It's very comical to kind of see what people come up with Hey, it's from what I remember right and it's one years ago. Let's see how long ago was that's right I was a teenager like, you know, just going into high school.
So for me, it was like this is this is amazing This is awesome. This is everything a teenage boy would ever want, you know, like let's watch robots destroy each other And my dad who was you know really into you know cars and fixing up things. He loved it too You know, just like it's like oh cool. This is money I don't have to spend and I can watch all these other idiots, you know go around and you know smash that crap out of each other With robots, you know, uh, so it was it was good fun.
I mean, it's it's like American gladiator. Well, like we said with robots Yeah, definitely is definitely is all right. Uh, I will uh, I'll report back when I've watched more. I'm sure I will have watched more It won't be that long.
It was uh, it was good good comedy and fun. So good stupid fun entertainment Ah, yeah, just just what uh all of tv is mmm. Yep. I mean, well, and you know me knowing you're uh working on your uh, your Machine learning in terms of what I like in terms of uh media, you know, I like action You know, I like comedy.
So this is just kind of like a mix of both and so uh, yeah I thought it was pretty good. You like mindless television, which is you know, like It's probably the easiest thing to feed you like you could feed mindless television to anybody and This I don't know there's a time like in your life where it's like you watch tv for a reason So sometimes you're watching it for the story, right? Like there are times it's like I want to sit down and I want to actually watch something that has a decent story that I'm invested in And other times you just want to decompress. You don't want to worry about following a story You just want to watch some things getting an arena and beat the shit out of each other And so instead of watching humans do that because that's pretty violent, you know, that kind of, you know, triggers some people in some sense Well, okay, let's do it with, you know, ananimate objects, right?
Well, ananimate objects aren't fun because they don't move. Well, okay, let's put some others and shit on them and like have them do stuff All right, like now I'm in now. I'm in we've hit the sweet spot So I'm not surprised that you like this, right? But yeah, sure.
I'll keep feeding and tuning my algorithm here for when we do the Lou has to watch these tv shows, you know or tv seasons or whatever it is But I feel like that's a lot of time commitment and you've already like, you know, expressed some hesitation towards that Yeah, I'll just watch like entire season about about next year. Does that work? Well, no, because that's fun. That's not the point of the thing.
It's not supposed to be fun. It's supposed to find out what you like So yeah, I know that you like this, but I gotta make you watch like a whole season of Breaking Bad and then see if you like that too All right, so let's wrap this up a little bit. So I did want to say so I I did get the new watch the Apple watch I know I think we mentioned a few weeks ago that uh, you know, Apple's every September coming out with new stuff And so I dig the watch. I don't know that I'm gonna pick up the phone at least yet And we'll see I mean, I'll probably I feel like I'll pull an atom on this one and like, you know, at least today I'm kind of like, uh, I don't know.
I'm hot. I'm hot and like, you know, two to four weeks from now on it You know, it'll just be like all right, whatever it is what it is. I'll see some feature that I like Must be nice like jeez, let me just throw this money at this stuff So you got an Apple watch series for I have questions about this, right? Like you can't just like glaze over these things.
I can say, oh, I just got this like, okay, so you got a series four First thing what size 44 millimeter? You got the big boy size. Of course you did, right? Because I think you had a 40 millimeter before right or 42.
Yeah, so I have a collection of bands like You know, six or eight or something like that. And so you need to keep that compatibility. Yeah, you're locked into that size Uh, sad that my 12 south, uh, you know, little armband won't fit you anymore. So yeah, that's not a bummer Uh, did you keep your old watch though?
No sold it and well, I mean sold up sold that thing in like two seconds flat I mean, I didn't I didn't you have a series three two. Yeah. Yeah, dude. Oh my god.
Never mind. Never mind Hey, man. I got a good I got like more than 50 percent of the value I'm sure you did because it's only like it's less than two years old. Of course you got a good rate for it Yeah, man.
So like my upgrade pricing was like, you know, at this point It's essentially like uh, you know, the the apples like uh, what is it the iPhone upgrade program? I'm on the like watch upgrade program. I'm just paying like, you know, 35 or something like that or maybe 40 max for a new watch every year Okay, so you got the 44. So you got the bigger one.
Uh, what color did you get? What finish did you get? Actually, let's start there Uh, stainless steel. I definitely stuck with the stainless steel.
Uh, I had the series three stainless steel and I have this one And that's mainly because when I did the first one like way way way way back. I got the link bracelet And so it's like now I'm kind of in that same thing where it's like I did the 42 originally so I need to keep the 44 And if I'm ever gonna use my link bracelet again, you know, occasionally here and there Well, I mean I could get the aluminum. I could do it, but you know, all right If I'm doing it, I might as well get the uh, the stainless steel so stainless steel whites work in Okay, so you did just regular stainless steel. You didn't go like the gold anything with that.
No, no No, just plain stainless steel Okay, so plain stainless steel 44 millimeter compatible with all your bands So now you have the new fanciness you can take an EKG and see how Out of shape you actually are eventually right which I mean, I'm not gonna know how to read it So who the hell cares like I mean, I'm just gonna be like, oh, look my heart's still beating Look, it's going up. No, I'm up and down and you know, okay, cool I mean it tells you at the end. I think what I read is that you know, it tells you like your heart is in Sinus rhythm or something like that, which means nothing to me I mean it means something to a medical professional but nothing to me So the other thing is at least we'll know when you fall now. So lose falling and you can't get up, right?
Actually, no, no, I learned that features off by default. So unless I go turn it on, it's like it's not It's not there unless you're like turn on life alert for those that you love turn on life alert, please Yeah, enable the life alert setting Okay. Yeah, okay. Are we done?
I mean, is there anything you want to say about it? No, no I just kind of like totally derailed the whole thing. Oh, you derailed it. All right.
Yeah, we were long off the tracks Because I didn't think I would break the computer if I took the picture. All right, move on. That's that's bad. That was that was mean.
All right Uh Lou yes, collaboration. This is how it works. You don't just accept everything Select all except Hey, this is Lou. Thanks again for listening.
