4月になると、通勤電車の風景が少し変わる。高校生や中学生が増えるのもそうだけど、私が毎年気になるのは、小学校に入学したばかりの新一年生たちだ。黄色い帽子に新品のランドセル。小さな体で電車に乗って通学する姿は、見ているこちらまで緊張してしまうほど初々しい。付き添う親や見守る先生の姿も含めて、そこにはこの季節ならではの空気がある。会社員になると季節感を感じにくくなるが、通勤電車の中にはちゃんと春が来ている。そんな話をしました。
