Depression in general, and my depression in specific, is not something I usually like to talk about openly. My friend Ed, on the other hand, finds that it’s easier to cope with his down periods through open, honest discussion. So, we’re trying it his way. This is not, in any way, a stunt for attention. For either of us. This is us, saying “we’ve been through some shit, maybe you have too. And if you have, you’re not alone.” Sometimes — especially this time of year — you need to hear that. And that’s why we’re doing this. Like I said, this isn’t something I’m comfortable talking about often. This is quite probably the only time I’ll be getting quite this personal in these or any other recordings. But, for the sake of that simple message — you’re not alone and you can beat this thing — it’s worth it.
