07. Finding yourself with Diogo Costa Cardoso

This week we are joined by Diogo Costa Cardoso. Diogo is a citizen of the world, originally from Portugal, now living in London. He is a keen traveller, curious and creative individual! He Is also a highly driven strategist, fuelling growth at global scale, which is what he is currently doing at NBCUniversal.  Diogo is also passionate about empowering young professionals, a passion project he started when he set up NBC’s Young Professionals Network, impacting over 2,000 people & founded the "Starters In Media" industry-wide forum. During our chat Diogo and I talked about travels, living abroad, building a community, the process of self-discovery and achieving lasting happiness.  ·       Duality: born and raised in Portugal, Diogo moved to London to pursue his career dreams. A move that not only helped him develop his confidence and entrepreneurial mindset, but that challenged his self-perception ultimately leading to reconcile a dual identity, feeling at home both in Porto and London.   ·       Wholeness: the process of self-discovery is not one for the faint of heart – a long road (I’d say a forever one!), with twists and turns… but it definitely is a rewarding and fulfilling one! Diogo shared the journey he is one, the village it takes to make it and how to go about acquiring the toolkit you’ll need for it.  ·       Identity and growth: as an ever-evolving species, staying put is not an option, neither it is believing that a past version of ourselves is all that we would ever be. Diogo learned to reconcile all the parts of him. Flaws, wins, learnings and adaptations. Every layer peeled reveals a different aspect, an opportunity… and Diogo has learned to embrace and appreciate every twist and turn.  Diogo, what a pleasure and inspiration it was to have you!.
