One of my biggest frustrations with digital marketing is how easily our focus is shifted onto what I call the 'vanity' metrics. Whether it's focusing on likes, follows or subscribers, it's all too easy to fall into the trap of the valuing the popularity of what we create over the profitability (aka the effectiveness) of it.
