078: You're Tracking the Wrong Number

Confession: I am painfully Type B about my business. I despise spreadsheets. I barely look at my P&L. The only number I actually check is the year to date tab in Stripe, green means I'm on track, red means tighten up, and that tells me almost nothing about what's actually happening underneath it. So I stopped tracking the outcome and started tracking the behavior instead, and it's the single biggest thing that's taken me from panicking every quarter to feeling calm about where this business is headed.
