079 - Augsburg Confession (Article 24)

The sacrifice of the Mass.  Is the Lord’s Supper primarily God to us or us to God?  That is the question.  We’re talking the proper distinction of sacrament and sacrifice and the difference between propitiatory and eucharistic sacrifices – in other words, sacrifices of sin and sacrifices of thanksgiving.  This was an important issue at the time of the reformation, and it still is today.
