089 School of Nature with Lara Cowan

from Focus on WHY · host Amy Rowlinson

Growing up, Lara Cowan was a confident high-achiever and spent every minute she could outdoors. However, she coped badly with the effects of anxiety and depression that she didn't acknowledge for more than a decade. She has suffered a traumatic break-up a year after having a baby at 21, then lived just battling with a mindset that challenged her every day. Shielding her trauma from others she lived in survival mode, searching for healing. But her nature connection saved her life. Lara is now on a mission to create a school of nature, an in-person and online nature connection club that has been created with the aims of fostering good mental health while caring for the future of our planet.   KEY TAKEAWAY "You have to forgive yourself for what you think.
