1.1 Love Note: Permission to Mess It Up

Welcome to your first love note: The permission to mess it up. If you need a quick reminder that you're going to mess it up when you start having the difficult conversations, and the permission to mess it up and do it anyway, then this love note is for you. In times like now, the worst thing we can do is say nothing because we are in fear. We need to give ourselves permission to mess it up, and do our own anti-racism work.  Listen. Read. Learn. And then, speak up. There are many black bodied individuals who are out there, sharing stories, educating people, that you can learn from. Oh, and you can also start at home: by asking your black friends and colleagues how they are doing, and then truly taking the time to genuinely listen.  This isn't the time for us to do nothing.
