1 John 2:9-17 - Loving the Brethren

The apostle John reminds his readers of the New Commandment that Jesus gave them, “To love one another…”. The truest measure of our Vertical relationship with Jesus Christ is our horizontal relationship with other believers. Just as loving our brothers is evidence of abiding in the light, hating our brothers is evidence of being in darkness. When we walk in darkness, we can stumble into snares and traps of the enemy we can’t see. We are blinded from God’s truth and our spiritual growth is hindered. “When we walk in the light as He is in the light we have fellowship with one another.”
