Ministry Relationship’s - 2 Corinthians 2
In the midst of the Apostles lives there was always the need to instruct, correct, exhort, comfort and encourage the churches. In this church in Corinth there was an issue of immorality occurring which wasn’t dealt with. Paul in 1st Corinthians dealt strongly with this calling out the leaders for their unfaithfulness to the one who sinned and to the church as a whole. In 2Cor chapter 2 we see the fallen Christian has repented and is now desiring to return to the church he was disciplined by. This lesson shows God’s grace and mercy when we repent. As God forgives we also must forgive.Paul also discusses the opportunities he has to travel to other cities to preach the Gospel. And how our very lives are a testament to salvation from sin or a testament to being lost for eternity for those who reject Christ.

Sardis, The Dead Church - Revelation 3:1-6
We now come to the 5th of the 7 Churches to whom Jesus writes a letter to, the Church of Sardis. A wealthy and powerful city in Asia Minor that was located 30 miles south of Thyatira, built on top of a 1500 foot hill for military defense purposes. A City that thought itself to be impenetrable was attacked and captured twice by enemies before being destroyed by a severe earthquake. Sardis was later rebuilt by Rome and eventually become the location of a Christian Church. Though the Church once thrived, it became a dead Church spiritually even though it had the reputation of being alive based on its past. Like many Churches today, who grieve the Holy Spirit by losing our first love, tolerating sin and doctrinal error, the Church loses life and it becomes a dead Church. May we take heed.

“The Corrupt Church” Revelation 2:18-29
Jesus instructs John to write his fourth letter to the Church of Thyatira. Although this church has many commendable works; love, service to the Lord and others, their faith and patience in the work; Jesus condemned them for allowing a false prophetess to bring in a doctrine that taught and seduced His people to commit idolatry and sexual immorality. If not repented, these things will not go unpunished, but the overcomers will be rewarded. Churches today must be vigilant of what is being taught and who is teaching the people. Those members who did not follow her teaching were not punished but were encouraged to remain faithful till He returned. Jesus is the one who searches the minds and hearts of us all. Lord see if there be any wicked way in us, and lead us in the way everlasting.

Pergamos - Revelation 2:12-17
The city of Pergamos was a wealthy city but was called Satan”s Throne due to the strong influence of pagan worship. Jesus writes a very sobering letter to this Church which should be taken as a warning to the Church today. There were members of the Church who were compromising with the doctrine of Balaam and the doctrine of the Nicolaitans. Jesus’s warned of Judgment not only for those practicing these things but also to those who refused to confront those involved in it. However, Jesus offers grace and forgiveness to those who repent and overcome.

"The Resurrection" Mark 16:1-13
Satuday, The Sabbath, was the darkest day in the history of mankind. Our Savior laid dead in the tomb while His followers were in a state of sorrow and grief. The unthinkable has happened; Jesus was betrayed by one of their own, He was arrested, Peter denies Him 3x’s, their Messiah was crucified, died and was buried; but Sunday is coming. Proving that Jesus is who he said He was, He is Risen! Though many, including some Christians, don’t believe or doubt the literal bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, Paul defends this central component of the gospel as Fact, on the strength of the authority of scripture and eye witness accounts. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is our Hope of eternal life in Him.Jesus said, “Because I live, you will live also.”“He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

Palm Sunday - The Triumphal Entry - Luke 19:28-48
The Messiah arrives into Jerusalem on the very day, in the very manner, and after performing the very miracles that were prophesied of Him. The multitude of disciples shout out, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord”. Jesus then weeps over Jerusalem for their coming rejection of Him and the destruction that is to follow. On day two, He cleanses the temple, and the religious leaders want to destroy Him. As we look back at the 1st coming of Christ, we can rest assured that the Word of the Lord is faithful and true.

2 Corinthians 1:12-22 - Ministry Misunderstandings
Paul, as an Apostle, has the privilege to see many people’s lives changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As he established many churches and leaders, he saw both Spirit-led communities and times when leaders and church families refused to deal with sin that, at times, arises in the church. The challenge in leadership is first to always be faithful to what God's Word teaches and to bring correction in love, grace, and integrity. Not with condemnation but with love, grace, and truth. Some churches didn’t want to hear or deal with what he had to say or correct. We, as Christians, all need to walk in love, truth, humility, and repentance, not rebelling against the Lord or quenching the work of the Holy Spirit. At times, this creates misunderstanding.
