The life of Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus, teaches us that God requires quiet obedience from his people. The Gospels do not record a single utterance from Joseph, but we see that he spoke through his actions. Joseph realised that God's plan of redemption was far above anything he could imagine, so he submitted to the will of God and was, as a humble carpenter, prepared to raise a King.
