Welcome to this week’s worship service at The Vine! 🌿In today’s service we shared in communion, remembering the incredible forgiveness we have through Jesus Christ. As Scripture reminds us, God removes our sins “as far as the east is from the west,” a powerful picture of the grace we celebrate at the Lord’s Table.Our message then turned to one of the most well-known stories in the Bible: David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17). While often remembered as a story about courage, the deeper message is about trusting the faithfulness of God.Before David ever faced the giant on the battlefield, he had already seen God work in the hidden places of his life—protecting him from lions and bears while tending sheep. Those past experiences of God’s faithfulness gave David the confidence to face what seemed impossible.In this message we reflect on several key truths:- The battles we face today are often shaped by how we remember God’s faithfulness yesterday- Courage grows from trust in God, not confidence in ourselves- The greatest victories come when we rely on God’s strength instead of our ownDavid didn’t focus on how big the giant was.
