1 Timothy 1 Luke 6:40 “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.” 1 Timothy Paul writes to Timothy his spiritual son. He calls him a true spiritual son in the faith. 1 Tim. 1:1-13 Prov. 10:19 “In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.” Teachers held to higher standard. James 3:1 “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.” Double honor to those who teach the Word of God. 1 Timothy 5:17 "Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine."
