What man abdicated in the fall in Genesis, Jesus redeemed on the cross at Calvary. Satan has always wanted to be worshiped, and he tried to get it from the Son of God. The first thing Matthew chapter 4 is the Spirit led Him into the wilderness and the tempter came after Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights. The enemy will always attack you at your greatest vulnerability. Know this, attacks are not random but calculated. We are to know where our vulnerabilities are. We are called to finish well. All temptations fall under one of these three areas: 1 John 2:16 the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life Jesus came not only to be the Son of God but the Son of Man – to show us how to live dependent on God. In Matthew 4:1-11 Jesus told Satan to leave, and it wasn’t until He did so that he left. This truth is the same for us. Until we command the devil to leave or to stop harassing us, he will continue. How the Holy Spirit Brings Transformation in Your Life 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. The Holy Spirit can take you somewhere you will go to in the future but take you there now. He did to Peter, James and John. The Holy Spirit took them somewhere else in the realm of glory. They saw Jesus’ transform. They heard the voice of God affirm Jesus. They witnessed it. They were given access to a realm most never go to. Matthew 17:1-8 The transfiguration. Jesus was transfigured before Peter, James & John. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. The word transfigured and transformed here is the same word! It means changed! Every time you are reading your Word you are renewing of mind. Every time you are worshiping Him you are being changed! Just like Jesus was transfigured on the Mount of Transfiguration. God's presence on Him was evident! Weakest; Yet Militant! On this rock I will build my church! The forces of hell shall not prevail. He is building His church! Matthew 16:17-19 We are not just a victorious church, but a militant church. You are champions standing up for Christ. The forces of hell shall not have victory over you! But you need a greater revelation of who Jesus is, for we are called to bind and loose, we are called to walk in power, we are called to know the seat of authority we sit in, with a kingdom mindset! Jesus said in John 14 “Let not your hearts be troubled.” On the cross He took on all the forces of darkness and stripped them of all power. What looked like His weakest moment, was His most militant act! • Jesus was going back to the Father through the death on the cross. • On the cross He defeated every demon, stripped them of all power. • He took all authority while He hung there looking defeated! • While He hung there looking defeated, He was ruling and rebuilding us! • While it looked His weakest moment all of heaven was backing Him Up! • He was going to the cross but ministering to us! Hardest trial yet still ministering! “Let not your hearts be troubled”, that was just a few days before the crucifixion. While things may look like our weakest moments, actually we have been qualified by the Father to be Partakers; to have superiority, to have dominance and excellence, over the power of darkness! Zechariah which means “Yahweh Remembers” was a prophet called by God to inspire the returned Jews to complete the reconstructing of the temple. Just as the rebuilding of the temple was not by military might or human power, but by the Holy Spirit, so will our lives be! God is rebuilding our homes! God Remembers; Yahweh Remembers! He remembers that we are but dust. Psalm 103:14 and His mercy to us is from everlasting to everlasting. Psalm 103:17 God remembers and is faithful to His promises. Not that He forgot, for the mind of God is infinite and all knowing! His knowledge is perfect and He sees the hidden things, for nothing in all creation is hidden from His sight! God remembers, describes His faithful nature and perfect timing. When God remembers doesn’t mean God forgets, but in His all-knowing perfect timing He will move, and the mountain shall become a level plain. The Office of A Prophet Versus the Gift of Prophecy One is an ordained office; the other is a gift all believers can grow in. The purpose of the gift of prophecy/giving a prophetic word is to bring people closer to the Father. • 1 Cor. 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. • 1 Cor. 14:3 But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, encouragement and comfort. • 1 Cor. 14:4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. • 1 Cor. 14:5 I wish you all would speak with tongues, but even more that you prophesy… • 1 Cor. 14:31 For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. • Acts 2:17 & 18 … and they shall prophesy. We are all called to prophesy, but we are not all called to be prophets. Word aligns with the Word of God 6. Consistent Christlike character in their lives 7. Message glorifies God not themselves 8. Warn people of sin and judgment 9. Strong voice for justice/righteousness 10. Quick, accurate judgments 11. Great discernment 12.
