10 : Artists and Entrepreneurs with Cammy Davis

from EATT Magazine podcast · host EATT Magazine podcast

Artists and Entrepreneurs Join us in this interview with Cammy Davis about Artists and Entrepreneurs. Cammy hosts a show called Art on the Airwaves for KSKQ radio in Ashland Oregon.  The show is about art and the business of art, where she interviews a wide variety of guests from artists, to musicians, to magazine editors, to book authors and discusses topics relevant to “artists and entrepreneurs.” Cammy Davis is a mixed-media artist whose work has been featured at fine art galleries throughout the Northwest and has a solo exhibit scheduled for October in the J. Pepin Art Gallery in Portland, Oregon. She has been published in books—Ashland, Oregon and Ashland, Oregon Day Trips—and periodicals—EATT Magazine and Luxe Beat Magazine. Cammy’s work is influenced by her roots in the outdoors and growing up in an Airstream near a river surrounded by the woods.  This translated to her art in later years, both in her contrasting use of natural and industrial materials, and her characteristic independence. Cammy constructs her work from scratch. To Cammy, the creative process is based on a willingness to experiment and always be learning. Listen now on iTunes   Cammy studied Fine Art at the University of Idaho for two and a half years, raised a family and then went back to complete her degree in Interior Design at Bellevue College in Washington. In this interview Cammy shares her latest travels in San Francisco at the San Francisco International Gift Fair and her insights into entrepreneurship and being an artist.  While giving some advice to artists about marketing their products “on the spot ”, she shares insight into her latest video that leaves our editor speechless and shares some of her upcoming sales strategies and the locations of some of her latest paintings and line of jewelry now in gallery’s across 5 states. Art on the Airwaves podcasts are also available on iTunes, SoundCloud, Spreaker and YouTube.  The show airs every 1st and 3rd Friday from 1 – 2 pm PST.
