Can you be Body Positive and still want to Change your Body? This is a BIG question... Many people in the self love/body positive community are shouting from the rooftops that you should NOT want to ever change your body or lose weight if you consider yourself to be body positive. I respectfully disagree. The way I see it, your body is always evolving, so if you'd prefer to lose weight (and/or work on your fitness, get a tattoo, etc.) for personal or health reasons, then you can choose to do that. By the same token, if you DON"T want to change your body, then don't. This is 100% a personal choice. If you are truly happy as you are, then just be! I am NOT in any way advocating that you should change your body. Simply that you are an autonomous person who has the choice and you shouldn't be ashamed whatever choice you make. But before you take this yes and run with it right back to the diet bandwagon or to a crazy workout regime, pause for a moment. Take some time to check in with these four pillars to ensure that you are being loving, kind, compassionate, and treating your body with the respect it deserves throughout the process.
