10. Starting a podcast: How often should you publish your podcast?

from Ambitious Entrepreneur Show · host Annemarie Cross: Brand, Business & Podcast Strategist [aka The Podcasting Queen] | Top 20 listed Business Coaches - Melbourne, AU

Hi, this is Annemarie, and welcome to another #ListenerIntoLead podcast tip for coaches and consultants who want to launch a podcast to nurture listeners into leads, get clients and build their business with their podcast. This is tip #10.  How frequently should you publish your podcast?  If you’ve heard my response to tip #9 with that question: How long should your podcast be, I’m going to use the exact same response I gave to tip #9, to this question of how frequently should you publish your podcast, which is: It depends.  Again, there are no rules to podcasting other than the rules you set yourself. And that’s the same when it comes to frequency and how often you should publish your podcast.  The better question would be: What is the overall goal of your podcast and how do you plan on leveraging your podcast to help you achieve that goal?  Also, what time commitment do you have? And, how are you best going to repurpose and leverage your podcast?  One of my alliance partners publishes their podcasts when they have an episode to share. That's because they interview premium members and if they have no new premium members – then there are no interviews. Their podcast was recently listed as #1 for Australian Women in business. And, their podcast continues to be one of the best ways they generate leads and inquiries from potential members for their network.  Another client of mine had NO interest in doing an ongoing podcast, so we created an evergreen podcast series that he leverages as part of his content creation strategy and seed and lead strategy. If he ever decides down the track to do another series, he can. If he were to free up some time and have the desire to start an ongoing more regular podcast publication – he can. It will depend on him and what’s going on in his business.   Another client of mine releases an interview with a guest once a month and has a shorter solo show every other week, so following more of a publication schedule of a podcast every 2 weeks. That best fits her schedule and overall podcast strategy.   So, again how frequently should you publish your podcast? It depends. On you and your overall goals that you want to achieve and how your podcast will help you get there.  I’ll see you in the next tip.   Post a review and share it!  If you learned something by tuning into this podcast, do not hesitate to write a review and share it with your friends.
