In ancient Israel, a leprous person was ostracized from society. Even family members avoided them, fearing infection. When such a person approached Jesus seeking healing, He did the unthinkable. Instead of withdrawing, He showed compassion and touched him, restoring him. Our sins are even more repulsive, yet Jesus shows us mercy and heals us by taking our place on the cross, the place of a leprous man.
