Ekonomické tlaky na odchod od uhlí a uzavírání elektráren otevírají otázku, které zdroje si můžeme dovolit zavřít a které by nám aktuálně chyběly.V rámci odchodu od uhlí se díváme na dvě klíčové roviny – elektrárny a teplárny. Debata se opírá o čtyři pilíře toho, co musíme dobře zvládnout: dostatek jiných zdrojů elektřiny, dostatek zdrojů pro stabilizaci a hladký provoz elektrické sítě, odchod od uhlí ve velkých teplárnách spadajících pod EU ETS 1 a odchod od uhlí v malých teplárnách.
