107 - Not Barley Wines (Revisited)

Welcome to A Woman’s Brew, where women talk about beer! Back in episode 67 we talked you through barley wines. These strong ales were brewed to be stored and aged and modern brewers are doing interesting things with them. This week we take a look at NOT barley wines! Close relative to the barley wine is the wheat, oat and rye wine and we sample an example of each. How do the different grains change this beer style? Why would brewers use these alternative grains and which do we like best? Have you tried any of these not barley wines? Let us know in the comments.
